The corrosion behavior of hot dip galvanized steel pretrvated with bis-[triethoxysilylpropyl] tetrasulfide （BTEsPT） modified with alumina particles was studied. The corrosion resistance of the passiving films was evaluated by Tafel polarization curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The films formed on the galvanized steel substrate were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry. The surface morphology of the treated hot dip galvanized steel samples was observed by Field Emission scanning Electron Microscope. The results show that the pretrvatments on the basis of silane films modified with nanoalumina particles have reduced both anodic and cathodic current densities, and increased total impedance in the measured frequency, consequently, improving corrosion protection for hot dip galvanized steel during immersion in Nacl solutions compared to chromate films and silane films.

Most of the time people stay in confined environments and thus are highly exposed to accumulated indoor *** environmental pollution has been identified as one of the most prevalent causes for health problems,such as sick building syndrome.ese health problems have been magnified with the introduction of energy efficient building concepts,coupled with limited fresh air supply,which has compromised the effective means of air ***,the frequent use of chemical substances for numerous purposes contributes to indoor air pollution.erefore,investigation of alternative techniques to improve indoor environmental quality has been extensively studied in the last two *** sri Lanka,there is a potential for studying indigenous techniques to improve indoor air ***,verification of such techniques and quantification of their impacts has not been given much *** research focus of this paper is to identify those material substances that can be used to absorb pollutants and lessen their harmful impacts and thereby improve air purification.A chamber study was used to quantify air purification using different material substances and considering the following parameters:total volatile organic compound(TVOc)and carbon Monoxide(cO)***,the results obtained in the chamber study were assessed for its projection to real applications by comparison with a study conducted in an actual indoor *** outcome of the study has revealed that the indigenous knowledge of sri Lanka can be used to improve indoor air quality.

AIM: To report maternal and fetal adverse outcomes, in spite of appropriate treatment and regular follow up, in diabetic pregnant women with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. METHODs: case series of four young pregnant diabetics aged between 20 and 25 years with type 1 diabetes mellitus and proliferative diabetic retrinopathy. REsULTs: The maternal adverse outcomes were abortion in one patient, pre-eclampsia and preterm delivery in one patient, and renal failure requiring dialysis in one patient. The fetal adverse outcomes were neonatal death in one case and premature baby in another case. cONcLUsION: These cases highlight the fact that diabetic pregnant women should be closely followed up by the obstetricians and physicians when they have proliferative retinopathy. The proliferative diabetic retinopathy should be considered as a part of the assessment when counseling a diabetic woman in antenatal check up and also in the follow up visits during pregnancy.

The amino-tri-（methylenephosphonic acid） layers were adsorbed on the surface of AA6061 aluminum alloy for improving the lacquer adhesion and corrosion inhibition as a substitute for chromate coatings. The surface structure and characteristic of the amino-tri-（methylenephosphonic acid） layers on AA6061 aluminum alloy were investigated by means of XPs and ATR-FTIR analysis. The analyzed results showed that the amino-tri-（methylenephosphonic acid） adsorption layers adsorb on the surface of aluminium alloy via acid-base interaction in a bi-dentate conformation. After the amino-tri-（methylenephosphonic acid） layers were coated with epoxy resin, the layers showed good adhesive strength and favorable corrosion resistance in contrast to chromate coatings.

We report a general approach to solve an Einstein-Maxwell system to describe a static spherically symmetric anisotropic strange matter distribution with linear equation of state in terms of two generating *** is examined by choosing Tolmann IV type potential for one of the gravitational potentials and a physically reasonable choice for the electric field. Hence, the generated model satisfies all the required major physical properties of a realistic star. The effect of electric charge on physical properties is highlighted.

The effects of different experimental conditions on the dry sliding wear behavior of stainless steel surface produced by plasma transferred arc （PTA） hardfacing process were studied. The wear test was conducted in a pinon-roller wear testing machine, at constant sliding distance of 1 kin. Mathematical models were developed to estimate wear rate incorporating with rotational speed, applied load and roller hardness using statistical tools such as design of experiments, regression analysis and analysis of variance. It is found that the wear resistance of the PTA hardfaced stainless steel surface is better than that of the carbon steel substrate.

Maximizing network lifetime is measured as the primary issue in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks(MANETs).In geographically routing based models,packet transmission seems to be more appropriate in dense *** involvement of the Heuristic model directly is not appropriate to offer an effectual solution as it becomes NP-hard issues;therefore investigators concentrate on using Meta-heuristic *** Optimization(DFO)is an effective meta-heuristic approach to resolve these problems by providing optimal ***,Meta-heuristic approaches(DFO)turn to be slower in convergence problems and need proper computational time while expanding network ***,DFO is adaptively improved as Adaptive Dragonfly Optimization(ADFO)to fit this model and re-formulated using graph-based m-connection establishment(G-𝑚𝑚cE)to overcome computational time and DFO’s convergence based problems,considerably enhancing DFO ***(G-𝑚𝑚cE),connectivity Zone(cZ)is chosen among source to destination in which optimality should be under those connected regions and ADFO is used for effective route establishment in cZ indeed of complete networking *** measure complementary features of ADFO and(G-𝑚𝑚cE),hybridization of DFO-(G-𝑚𝑚cE)is anticipated over dense circumstances with reduced energy consumption and delay to enhance network *** simulation was performed in MATLAB environment.

Histomorphological and Histochemical Alterations Following short-term Inhalation Exposure to sulfur Mustard on Visceral Organs of Mice

Toxic effects of inhaled sulfur mustard (sM) on the histology of visceral organs was investigaed by exposing mice to 84. 6mg/m3 for 1h duration, using controlled single exposure conditions. A progressive fall in body weight from third day onwards was noticed. Light microscopic examination of the pulmonary tissue of these animals at 6 h post exposure revealed that the tracheobronchial epithelium remained intact, but was infiltrated by inflammatory cells. By 24 h post exposure, the mucosecretory cells were destroyed. The indanunatory reaction was maximum at 48 h. By 7th day post exposure there was swelling and vacuolation of lung parenchymal cells and thrombi formation. In addition sM caused congestion and hemorrhage at alveolar level. sM also caused granulovacuolar degeneration with perinuclear clumping of the cytopasm of hepatocytes and renal parenchymal cells. Renallesions were chazacterized by congestion and hemorrhage. Among visceral tissues, maximum atrophywas observed in spleen. Distribution of lesions increased with post exposure period. The maximum lesions were observed at 7th day post-exposure.
