Photoluminescence properties of a novel orange-red emitting Ba_2CaZn_2si_6O_(17):sm^(3+)phosphor

Novel orange-red emitting Ba_2Ca_（1–x）Zn_2si_6O_（17）：x sm^（3＋）（0.02≤x≤0.08） phosphors were synthesized using conventional solid-state reaction method under air atmosphere. The phase formation of the samples was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction patterns. scanning electron microscopy（sEM） and photoluminescence properties were also investigated. The narrow excitation and emission spectra indicated the typical 4f-4f transitions of sm^（3＋）. The dominant excitation line was around 405 nm attributed to ~6H_（5/2）→ ~4F_（7/2） and the emission spectrum consisted of four emission peaks at 562, 600, 647, and 708 nm corresponding to the various transitions ~4G_（5/2） to ~6HJ（J=5/2, 7/2, 9/2 and 11/2） of the sm^（3＋） ions in the same order. The strongest emission band located at 600 nm was attributed to ~4G_（5/2）→~6H_（7/2） transition of sm^（3＋）, producing bright orange-red color emission. The optimal dopant concentration of sm3＋ ion in Ba_2CaZn_2si_6O_（17）：x sm^（3＋） phosphor was around 4 mol.% and the critical transfer distance（Rc） of sm^（3＋） was calculated to be 2.65 nm. Decay time varied with the sm^（3＋） concentrations in Ba_2 CaZn_2si_6O_（17） phosphors. In addition, the Commission International del＇Eclairagethe（CIE） chromaticity coordinates of Ba_2Ca_（0.96）Zn_2si_6O_（17）：0.04sm^（3＋） phosphor was located in the orange-red region（0.547, 0.450） and the correlated color temperature（CCT） was 2543 K. The present results indicated that sm^（3＋） activated Ba_2CaZn_2si_6O_（17） phosphors may be used as an orange-red emitting phosphor for near-ultraviolet（n-UV） based white light emitting diodes（WLEDs） applications.

Chinese Assam tea(Camellia sinensis ***)is an important tea crop with a long history of cultivation in Yunnan,*** its potential value as a genetic resource,its genetic diversity and domestication/breeding history remain *** address this issue,we genotyped 469 ancient tea plant trees representing 26 *** *** populations,plus two of its wild relatives(six and three populations of *** and ***,respectively)using 16 nuclear microsatellite *** showed that Chinese Assam tea has a relatively high,but comparatively lower gene diversity(H_(s)=0.638)than the wild relative ***(H_s=0.658).Clustering in sTRUCTURE indicated that Chinese Assam tea and its two wild relatives formed distinct genetic groups,with considerable interspecific *** Chinese Assam tea accessions clustered into three gene pools,corresponding well with their geographic ***,New Hybrids analysis indicated that 68.48%of ancient Chinese Assam tea plants from Xishuangbanna were genetic intermediates between the Puer and Lincang gene *** addition,10%of the ancient Chinese Assam tea individuals were found to be hybrids between Chinese Assam tea and *** results suggest that Chinese Assam tea was domesticated separately in three gene pools(Puer,Lincang and Xishuangbanna)in the Mekong River valley and that the hybrids were subsequently selected during the domestication *** the domestication history of Chinese Assam tea in southwestern Yunnan remains complex,our results will help to identify valuable genetic resources that may be useful in future tea breeding programs.

The variation of the optical absorption (OA) and photoluminescence (PL) spectra with temperature was studied on γ-irradiated CaF2:Dy:Pb:Na single crystals. BACKGROUND Cheilectomy of the 1^(st)metatarsophalangeal joint(MTPJ)is one of the most common procedures for the management of hallux ***,there is no consensus regarding outcomes following minimally invasive dorsal cheilectomy(MIDC)for the management of hallux *** To evaluate outcomes following MIDC for the management of hallux *** During November 2023,the PubMed,EMBAsE and Cochrane Library databases were systematically reviewed to identify clinical studies examining outcomes following MIDC for the management of hallux *** six studies were *** total,348 patients(370 feet)underwent MIDC for hallux rigidus at a weighted mean follow-up of 37.9±16.5 *** distribution of patients by Coughlin and shurna's classification was recorded in 4 studies as follows:Ⅰ(58 patients,27.1%),Ⅱ(112 patients,52.3%),Ⅲ(44 patients,20.6%).Three studies performed an additional 1^(st)MTPJ arthroscopy and debridement following *** intra-articular bone debris was observed in 100%of patients in 1 *** weighted mean American orthopedic foot and ankle society score improved from a preoperative score of 68.9±3.2 to a postoperative score of *** complication rate was 8.4%,the most common of which was persistent joint pain and ***-two failures(8.7%)were ***-three secondary procedures(8.9%)were performed at a weighted mean time of 8.6±3.2 months following the index *** This systematic review demonstrated improvements in subjective clinical outcomes together with a moderate complication rate following MIDC for the management of hallux rigidus at short-term follow-up.A moderate reoperation rate at short-term follow-up was *** marked heterogeneity between included studies and paucity of high quality comparative studies limits the generation of any robust conclusions.

Physicochemical parameters of surface water sources in the study of local government areas (LGAs) were assessed using standard procedures. The mean physicochemical parameters for pH (5.49), NO2 (0.23 mg/L), sO4 (0.77 mg/L), Na (28.72 mg/L), Ca (28.94 mg/L), Mg (17.50 mg/L), Cl (11.65 mg/L), Tss (6.27 mg/L), TDs (104.23 mg/L), BOD (2.83 mg/L) and F (0.87 mg/L) were below WHO standards irrespective of their defecation status. The values for electrical conductivity (EC) (2770.50 µs/cm, turbidity (481.24 NTU), dissolved oxygen (DO) (5.32 mg/L), chemical oxygen demand (COD) (445.50 mg/L), K (125.06 mg/L), PO4 (0.78 mg/L) and Fe (0.57 mg/L) were above the WHO limits for safe water. Higher EC and COD values obtained in the study is evidence of pollution of the water sources by organic matter.

Objective: We studied the feasibility of using Alcohol, smoking, and substance Involvement screening Test (AssIsT) linked with Brief Intervention (ALBI) in treating substance Use Disorder in Nigeria. There is a clear gap in meeting the needs for treatment and care for people with drug use disorders in Nigeria with many users reporting a self-perceived need for treatment and about 40% of them wanting to receive drug treatment but were unable to access such services. Methods: AssIsT questionnaire was used to gather baseline data, and ALBI along with Motivational Interviewing (MI) was used to intervene for 6 weeks following which AssIsT score was repeated and compared with baseline. Results: Majority of the participants were aged 21 - 30 years, mostly males with (61.3%) lacking steady jobs. Lifetime prevalence of any drug use was (88.2%). Three months prevalence was nicotine (72.0%), alcohol (66.7%), cannabis (47.3%), opioids (11.8%) among others. The AssIsT scores were mostly on the severe ranges. AssIsT result after six weeks showed marked reduction. The Mean Difference (MD) in the AssIsT scores after intervention was significant for tobacco, opioids, alcohol, and cannabis. The Cohen’s D effect size was large for tobacco (1.08), alcohol (0.92) and cannabis (0.73) but low for other substances. Conclusion: ALBI along with MI was helpful in combating the menace of substance use.

Thiazide-induced hyponatremia is one of the main causes of decreased sodium levels in elderly individuals. This review presents the current evidence regarding the thiazide-associated hyponatremia. Thiazide-associated hyponatremia is observed mainly in patients with certain risk factors such as those receiving large doses of thiazides, having much comorbidity, such as heart failure, liver disease or malignancy, and taking several medications, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors or tricyclic antide- pressants. sodium concentration should be monitored in patients with risk factors for developing thiazide-associated hyponatremia and clini- cians should measure promptly serum sodium levels in patients with neurologic signs indicating reduced sodium levels. The clinical and biochemical profile of patients with thiazide-associated hyponatremia may be that of extracellular volume depletion or the syndrome of inap- propriate antidiuretic hormone secretion （sIADH）. The investigation of possible thiazide-associated hyponatremia includes the exclusion of other causes of decreased sodium levels and the identification of the characteristics of hyponatremia due to thiazides （extracellular volume depletion-related or sIADH-like）. Treatment should be carefully monitored to avoid serious neurologic complications due to overcorrection. Clinicians should discourage prescribing thiazides in patients with a history of diuretic-associated hyponatremia and should prefer low doses of thiazides in patients with risk factors for developing thiazide-associated hyponatremia.

This work presents the electronic behavior of Ti and TiN thin films when exposed to electrolytes with pH levels of 2,7 and 13 for 90 *** potentio-electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests were performed on the 100-nm Ti and TiN monolithic films,and Mottschottky analysis of these tests was used to determine the films’ semiconductive behavior and changes in the donor/acceptor *** addition,the flat-band potential of each film’s surface oxide was also *** attempt was made to control oxide formation,and therefore,these tests reflected the native surfaces of these *** the TiN films exhibited n-type semiconductivity in all electrolytes,the Ti films only showed n-type behavior in the acidic(pH=2) and neutral(pH=7) *** semiconductivity of the Ti films transitioned to p-type during exposure to the basic electrolyte(pH=13) after reaching 60 ***,there was a significant increase in the donor densities for both Ti and TiN films when immersed in the basic electrolyte relative to the acidic and neutral electrolytes.
