A total of 400 surface soil （0-15 cm） samples were collected from cultivated soils representing four soil series, namely, Hariharapur, Debatoli, Rajpora and Neeleswaram in Orissa, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and kerala states of India, respectively, and were analyzed to measure the contents of total and extractable Mn and Fe, to establish the relationship among total and extractable Mn and Fe and soil properties, and to characterize the spatial distribution pattern of Mn and Fe in some cultivated acid soils of India. The contents of total as well as extractable Mn and Fe varied widely with extractants and soil series. However, the amounts of Mn or Fe extracted by diethylene triamine penta-acetic acid （DTPA）, Mehlich 1, Mehlich 3, 0.1 mol L-1 HC1 and ammonium bicarbonate DTPA （ABDTPA） were significantly correlated with each other （P 〈 0.01）. Based on the DTPA-extractable contents and the critical limits （2 mg Mn kg-1 soil and 4.5 mg Fe kg-1 soil） published in the literature, Mn and Fe deficiencies were observed in 7% 23% and 1%-3% of the soil samples, respectively. The content of soil organic carbon （sOC） had greater influence on total and DTPA-extractable Fe than did soil pH. Geostatistical analysis revealed that total and DTPA-extractable Mn and Fe contents in the acid soils were influenced by soil pH, sOC content, and exchangeable cations like potassium, calcium and magnesium. spatial distribution maps of total and DTPA-extractable Mn and Fe in soil indicated different distribution patterns.

In this study, we have reported for the first time the persistence length of a single soybean microtubule in vitro. The measurement is based on analysis of thermal bending of a single soybean microtubule. similar to mammalian microtubules, the length dependency of the persistence length was also observed for this species of plant microtubule. The identification of two intrinsic aspects of plant microtubules: the persistence length and the compositional structure in terms of variety of beta tubulin isotypes, and the potential correlation between these two factors, provides evidence for the functionality mechanism of plant microtubules. In this work, these two fundamental factors have been further discussed for our case study: single soybean microtubule.

Landslides in the Himalayan region are primarily controlled by natural parameters,including rainfall,seismic activity,and anthropogenic parameters,such as the construction of large-scale projects like road development,tunneling and hydroelectric power projects and climate *** parameters which are more crucial among these are a matter of scientific study and *** research,taking solan district,Himachal Pradesh,India,as the study area,aims to assess the impact of anthropogenic activities on landslide susceptibility at a regional *** distribution was characterized into two groups,namely Rainfall-Induced Landslide(RIL)and Human-Induced Landslide(HIL)based on triggering *** data such as slope angle,aspect,profile curvature,distance to drainage,distance to lineament,lithology,distance to road,normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)and land use land cover(LULC)have been considered for delineating the landslide susceptibility zonation(LsZ)*** effect of anthropogenic activities on landslide occurrences has been examined through the distribution of landslides along national highways and land use land cover changes(LULCC).Two sets of LsZ maps with a LULC of time interval covering five years(2017&2021)were prepared to compare the temporal progression of LULC and landslide susceptibility during the five *** results indicated the significant impact of anthropogenic activities on the landslide *** map of the year 2021 shows that 23%area falls into high and very high susceptible classes and 48%area falls into very low and low susceptibility *** to LsZ map of 2017,high and very high susceptible classes have been increased by 15%,whereas very low and low susceptible classes have been reduced by 7%.The present case study will help to understand the potential driving parameters responsible for HIL and also suggest the inclusion of LULC in landslide susceptibility *** study will demonstrate new

The effect of river runoff over the northern Indian Ocean(NIO) especially over the Bay of Bengal(Bo B) has been studied using global Nucleus for European Modelling of the Ocean(NEMO). Two sensitivity experiments, with and without river runoff are conducted and the influence of river runoff on the Indian Ocean hydrography,stratification and circulation features are studied. It is found that due to river runoff surface salinity over the northern Bo B decreases by more than 5 and the East India Coastal Current strengthens by 2 cm/s during post monsoon season. The fresh river water reaches up to 15°N in the Bo B and is the main cause for low salinity *** surface temperature in the northwestern Bo B increases by more than 0.2℃ due to the river runoff in summer monsoon while surface cooling upto 0.2℃ is seen in north-west part of Bo B in winter season. The seasonal mixed layer depth in the region is found to be dependent on river runoff. The effect of vertical shear and Brunt Vaisala frequency on stratification is also examined. The ocean water becomes highly stratified up to 3 035 m due to the river runoff. It is found that the energy required for mixing is high in the northern and coastal Bo B.

Wastewaters from various process industries,namely food and agricultural,sugar mill,brewery,milk,vegetable and fruit,and meat and fsheries processing industries and their wastewater efuents contain nutrients,organic matter,inorganic,heavy metals,suspended solids,and *** discharges of non-treated wastewater enter the nearby aquatic ecosystem(e.g.,lakes,rivers)and are a signifcant concern due to the presence of diferent nutrients,competing ions and C containing *** causes excessive growth of algae,loss of habitat/species,and other negative impacts on human health/*** the present review,diferent treatment approaches have been discussed in utilizing these nutrients to synthesize value-added products such as biopolymer,biofuel,pigment,organic acid,or *** biopolymers can be used to prepare various food products/packaging ***,chitosan,carrageenan,alginate,and pectin are good examples of non-food *** these products,poly-β-hydroxybutyrate(PHB)synthesis from wastewater nutrients is reported as a new source of bio-nanocomposite materials/biopolymer-based *** this review,the diferent treatment approaches are discussed,which are being used worldwide for the removal/recovery of nutrients,toxic pollutants,and the potential resource recovery of value-added products from wastewater.
