Data-driven Distributionally Adjustable Robust Chance-constrained DG Capacity Assessment

Moving away from fossil fuels towards renewable sources requires system operators to determine the capacity of distribution systems to safely accommodate green and distributed generation(DG).However,the DG capacity of a distribution system is often underestimated due to either overly conservative electrical demand and DG output uncertainty modelling or neglecting the recourse capability of the available *** improve the accuracy of DG capacity assessment,this paper proposes a distributionally adjustable robust chance-constrained approach that utilises uncertainty information to reduce the conservativeness of conventional robust *** proposed approach also enables fast-acting devices such as inverters to adjust to the real-time realisation of uncertainty using the adjustable robust counterpart *** achieve a tractable formulation,we first define uncertain chance constraints through distributionally robust conditional value-at-risk(CVaR),which is then reformulated into convex quadratic *** subsequently solve the resulting large-scale,yet convex,model in a distributed fashion using the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM).Through numerical simulations,we demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms the adjustable robust and conventional distributionally robust approaches by up to 15%and 40%,respectively,in terms of total installed DG capacity.

Medical imaging plays a key role within modern hospital management systems for diagnostic *** methodologies are extensively employed to mitigate storage demands and enhance transmission speed,all while upholding image ***,an increasing number of hospitals are embracing cloud computing for patient data storage,necessitating meticulous scrutiny of server security and privacy ***,considering the widespread availability of multimedia tools,the preservation of digital data integrity surpasses the significance of compression *** response to this concern,we propose a secure storage and transmission solution for compressed medical image sequences,such as ultrasound images,utilizing a motion vector watermarking *** watermark is generated employing an error-correcting code known as Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem(BCH)and is subsequently embedded into the compressed sequence via block-based motion *** the process of watermark embedding,motion vectors are selected based on their magnitude and phase *** embedding watermarks,no specific spatial area,such as a region of interest(ROI),is used in the *** embedding of watermark bits is dependent on motion *** reversible watermarking allows the restoration of the original image sequences,we use the irreversible watermarking *** reason for this is that the use of reversible watermarks may impede the claims of ownership and legal *** restoration of original data or images may call into question ownership or other legal *** peak signal-to-noise ratio(PsNR)and structural similarity index(ssIM)serve as metrics for evaluating the watermarked image *** all images,the PsNR value exceeds 46 dB,and the ssIM value exceeds *** results substantiate the efficacy of the proposed technique in preserving data integrity.

Genome-wide identification,characterization and functional prediction of the sRs gene family in sesame(sesamum indicum L.)

sesame(sesamum indicum L.)is an ancient oilseed crop of the Pedaliaceae family with high oil content and potential health *** RELATED sEQUENCE(sRs)proteins are the transcription factors(TFs)specific to plants that contain RING-like zinc finger domain and are associated with the regulation of several physiological and biochemical *** also play vital roles in plant growth and development such as root formation,leaf development,floral development,hormone biosynthesis,signal transduction,and biotic and abiotic stress ***,the sRs gene family was not reported in sesame *** this study,identification,molecular characterization,phylogenetic relationship,cis-acting regulatory elements,protein-protein interaction,syntenic relationship,duplication events and expression pattern of sRs genes were analyzed in *** identified total six sisRs genes on seven different linkage groups in the *** genome by comparing with the other species,including the model plant Arabidopsis *** sisRs genes showed variation in their structure like2–5 exons and 1–4 *** other species,sisRs proteins also contained‘RING-like zinc finger'and‘LRP1'***,the sisRs genes were clustered into subclasses via phylogenetic analysis with proteins of ***,***,and some other plant *** cis-acting regulatory elements analysis revealed that the promoter region of sisRs4(sIN_1011561)showed the highest 13 and 16 elements for light-and phytohormone-responses whereas,sisRs1(sIN_1015187)showed the highest 15 elements for *** ABREs,or ABA-responsive elements,were found in a maximum of 8 copies in the sisRs3(sIN 1009100).Moreover,the available RNA-seq based expression of sisRs genes revealed variation in expression patterns between stress-treated and non-treated samples,especially in drought and salinity conditions *** sisRs genes like sisRs1(sIN_1015187)and sisRs5(sIN_1021065),also exhibited variabl

Graphene oxide-coated microbottle resonators for relative humidity sensing

Graphene oxide(GO) is a 2D coating material used to improve fiber optics sensors' response to relative humidity. Microbottle resonators(MBRs) have garnered more attention as sensing media structures. An MBR with a 190 μm diameter was coated with GO. Then, tapered fiber light coupling was used to investigate the relative humidity sensing performance in the range of 35—70%RH at 25 °C. The MBR showed a higher Q factor before and after GO coating. The sensitivity of 0.115 d B/%RH was recorded with the 190 μm GO-coated MBR sample compared to a sensitivity of 0.022 d B/%RH for the uncoated MBR sample. These results show that the MBR can be used in fiber optic sensing applications for environmental sensing.
