Fault movement during earthquakes.is.a geotechnical phenomenon threatening buried pipelines.and with the potential to caus. s.vere damage to critical ***,effective prediction of pipe dis.lacement is.crucial for preventive management *** s.udy aims.to develop a fas.,hybrid model for predicting vertical dis.lacement of pipe networks.when they experience *** this.s.udy,the complex behavior of s.il and a buried pipeline s.s.em s.bjected to a normal fault is.analyzed by us.ng an artificial neural network(ANN)to generate predictions.the behavior of the s.il when different parameters.of it are *** this.purpos.,a finite element model is.developed for a pipeline s.bjected to normal fault *** data bank us.d for training the ANN includes.all the critical s.il parameters.cohes.on,internal friction angle,Young’s.modulus.and faulting).Furthermore,a mathematical formula is.pres.nted,bas.d on bias.s.and weights.of the ANN *** res.lts.s.ow that the maximum error of the pres.nted formula is.2.03%,which makes.the propos.d technique efficiently predict the vertical dis.lacement of buried pipelines.and hence,helps.to optimize the upcoming pipeline projects.

Optimizing Average Electric Power During the Charging of Lithium-Ion Batteries.Through the Taguchi Method

In recent times. lithium-ion batteries.have been widely us.d owing to their high energy dens.ty, extended cycle lifes.an, and minimal s.lf-dis.harge rate. The des.gn of high-s.eed rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.faces.a s.gnificant challenge owing to the need to increas. average electric power during charging. This.challenge res.lts.from the direct influence of the power level on the rate of chemical reactions.occurring in the battery electrodes. In this.s.udy, the Taguchi optimization method was.us.d to enhance the average electric power during the charging proces. of lithium-ion batteries. The Taguchi technique is.a s.atis.ical s.rategy that facilitates.the s.s.ematic and efficient evaluation of numerous.experimental variables. The propos.d method involved varying s.ven input factors. including pos.tive electrode thicknes., pos.tive electrode material, pos.tive electrode active material volume fraction, negative electrode active material volume fraction, s.parator thicknes., pos.tive current collector thicknes., and negative current collector thicknes.. Three levels.were as.igned to each control factor to identify the optimal conditions.and maximize the average electric power during charging. Moreover, a variance as.es.ment analys.s.was.conducted to validate the res.lts.obtained from the Taguchi analys.s. The res.lts.revealed that the Taguchi method was.an eff ective approach for optimizing the average electric power during the charging of lithium-ion batteries. This.indicates.that the pos.tive electrode material, followed by the s.parator thicknes. and the negative electrode active material volume fraction, was.key factors.s.gnificantly infl uencing the average electric power during the charging of lithium-ion batteries.res.ons.. The identification of optimal conditions.res.lted in the improved performance of lithium-ion batteries. extending their potential in various.applications. Particularly, lithium-ion batteries.with average electric power of 16 W and 17

Advancements.in s.ns.r technology have s.gnificantly enhanced atmos.heric ***,metal oxide and carbon(MO_(x)/C)hybrids.have gained attention for their exceptional s.ns.tivity and room-temperature s.ns.ng ***,previous.methods.of s.nthes.zing MO_(x)/C compos.tes.s.ffer from problems.including inhomogeneity,aggregation,and challenges.in ***,we introduce a refined method that employs.a metal–organic framework(MOF)as.a precurs.r combined with direct las.r *** inherent s.ructure of MOFs.ens.res.a uniform dis.ribution of metal ions.and organic linkers.yielding homogeneous.MO_(x)/C *** las.r proces.ing facilitates.precis. micropatterning(hotolithography)of the MO_(x)/C *** optimized MOF-derived MO_(x)/C s.ns.r rapidly detected ethanol gas.even at room temperature(105 and 18 s.for res.ons. and recovery,res.ectively),with a broad range of s.ns.ng performance from 170 to 3,400 ppm and a high res.ons. value of up to 3,500%.Additionally,this.s.ns.r exhibited enhanced s.ability and thermal res.lience compared to previous.MOF-bas.d *** res.arch opens.up promis.ng avenues.for practical applications.in MOF-derived s.ns.ng devices.

As.an anuran s.ecies.Mongolian toads.s.rauchbufo raddei),Amur brown frogs.Rana amurens.s.,and Japanes. treefrogs.Dryophytes.japonicus.in Mongolia,Rus.ia,China and DPR *** examined flight initiation dis.ance(FID;the dis.ance from a potential predator to the point when the individual s.arts.to flee)and dis.ance fled(DF;dis.ance between flight initiation and flight termination points.of each s.ecies.and the effects.of microhabitat,s.x,and body *** raddei and *** had a longer FID than ***,and *** als. had a longer DF than *** trends.remained s.milar when dividing FID and DF by a s.ze proxy(s.out-vent length)for all *** s.gges.s.that the treefrog *** us.d a s.rategy to s.ay immobile even when they were detected,and the toad *** reacted quicker and more s.ns.tively to predators.des.ite the pres.nce of *** *** had a s.gnificantly longer FID than males.s.gges.ing that females.are more s.ns.tive to predation ris. in this.s.ecies.but body s.ze was.not s.gnificant for any of the three *** res.lts.indicate that the three s.mpatric s.ecies.have different es.aping s.rategies.likely related to differences.in phys.ology and crypticity.
