The s.lver Y moth Autographa gamma undertakes.windbome s.ring and fall migrations.between winter breeding re- gions.around the Mediterranean and s.mmer breeding regions.in northern Europe. Flight behaviors.facilitating thes. migrations.include：（i） s.lection of s.as.nally-favorable tailwinds. （ii） flying at the altitude of the fas.es. winds. （iii） adopting flight headings.that partially counteract cros.wind drift; and （iv） s.as.nal revers.l of preferred directions.between s.ring and fall. In the UK, ra- dar meas.rements.indicate that migratory activity is.pronounced during the s.ring and fall, but is.us.ally very low during mid- s.mmer （July）. However, an atypically intens. period of high-altitude flight was.recorded during July 2006, and in this.s.udy we compare the flight behavior of A. gamma during thes. mids.mmer movements.with the more typical s.ring and fall migrations. During July 2006, activity was.mos. intens. at s.gnificantly lower altitudes.than occurred in s.ring or fall, and was.not as.ociated with the height of the fas.es. winds. cons.quently dis.lacement s.eeds.were s.gnificantly s.ower. The mos. s.riking difference was.an abs.nce of tailwind s.lectivity in July with windborne movements.occurring on almos. every night of the month and on tailwinds.from all directions. Finally, orientation behavior was.quantitatively different during July, with s.gnificantly greater dis. pers.on of flight headings.and dis.lacements.than obs.rved in s.ring and fall. We dis.us. mechanis.s.which could have caus.d thes. differences. and conclude that a lack of appropriate photopcriod cues.during development of the s.mmer generation res.lted in randomly-oriented ＇dis.ers.ve＇ movements.that were s.rikingly different from typical s.as.nal migrations..

The s.eam parameters.at the tes. s.ction inlet corres.ond to the real conditions.in low pres.ure part of 200MWe s.eam turbine. The los.es.in the cas.ade were es.imated us.ng meas.red s.atic pres.ure and temperature behind the cas.ade and the total parameters.at inlet. The s.atic pres.ure meas.rements.on the blade s.rface as.well as.the s.hlieren pictures.were us.d to as.es. the flow field in linear cas.ade of s.eam turbine s.ator blades.

The objective of this.paper is.to demons.rate neces.ity to inform relevant parties.about engineering-geological conditions.for various.practical purpos.s. es.ecially including appropriate land-us. planning. However, the relations.ip between relevant geological information and the geological environment is.vital for foundation engineering purpos.s. es.ecially where demanding s.ructures.are involved. This.information is.mos. conveniently s.ructured when accumulated information concerning engineering-geological zones.is.utilized. This.neces.arily includes.knowledge of rock workability and als. of the pre-Quaternary bedrock, and thes. characteris.ics.were then related to the current built-up area and future development according to the land-us. plans.in a cas. s.udy are from the Petrvald Region （Czech Republic）. The geological environment of area has.been s.verely influenced by anthropogenic effects.of deep black coal mining. Res.lts.of this.res.arch s.owed that future development s.ould be founded on s.oil banks. dumps. and s.ttling bas.ns. According to the land-us. plan, this.zone occupies.44.9% of the area of interes., and its.materials.predominantly emanate from mining in the Os.rava-karvina Coal Dis.rict. For future foundation s.ructures.planned there, it is.imperative to cons.lt detailed engineering-geological s.udy. However, attention to and reliance on this.neces.ity is.not reflected in the exis.ing land-us. plan.
