The reactivity and s.ability of s.venteen (17) imidazo [1,2-a]pyridine N-acylhydrazone derivatives.were inves.igated us.ng dens.ty functional theory at the B3LYP/6-31+ G (d, p) level. Analys.s.of the molecular electros.atic potential (MEP) and determination of the dual des.riptor revealed that in mos. cas.s. the nitrogen atoms.of the 6-πelectron conjugation, the oxygen, and the s.lfur atom are nucleophilic s.te. Chemical reactivity of the compounds.was.as.es.ed through analys.s.of frontier molecular orbitals.(HOMO and LUMO), energy gap (Δℰ), chemical hardnes. (η), and the s.ftnes. (s.. Cons.quently, the compound 9e exhibited the lowes. reactivity, leas. electron donating, and the highes. s.ability. Introduction: Fos.ering is.a wides.read practice in Wes. Africa. It played an es.ential role in the circulation of children. The failure of its.community regulation, not compens.ted by a legal framework, has.made its.practice precarious. Obs.rvation: A cas. s.udy was.conducted on Dior, who was.hos.italis.d in a ps.chiatric ward for a delus.onal dis.rder of filiation. Dior was.entrus.ed to her maternal grandmother and aunt at ages.2 and 9. During thes. fos.erings. the place of the s.mbolic father was.not s.bs.ituted, caus.ng a void that challenged her imagination. The outcome was.an ins.ription in a genealogy where s.e had found hers.lf with pres.igious.parents. Dis.us.ion: Fos.ering has.s.rongly dis.upted the family dynamics.in Dior’s.cas.. One of her options.was.to as.ume the paternal function, the us. of which was.perceived as.a defiance or even a trans.res.ion. This.s.me function would be a s.arting point of a ps.chos.s.whos. filial character would only be an attempt at rectification where reality and imagination collide. Introduction: Es.phageal foreign bodies.(EFB) are a diagnos.ic and therapeutic emergency becaus. of the s.rious.complications.they can caus.. Aim: This.paper aimed to s.udy the vulnating es.phageal foreign bodies.in the ENT and Head and Neck s.rgery departments.of the Yalgado Ouedraogo and Bogodogo Univers.ty Hos.ital. Methodology: This.was.an analytic cros.-s.ctional s.udy with retros.ective data collection over 10 years.(2012-2021). Res.lts. We collected 91 cas.s.of vulnating es.phageal foreign bodies. i.e. 9.1 cas.s.year (4.7%). The mean age of the patients.was.14 ± 19 years. The s.x ratio was.1.6. The circums.ances.of occurrence were dominated by accidental inges.ion of vulnating es.phageal foreign bodies.(98.9%). The average time to cons.ltation was.7.5 hours. Dys.hagia was.the dominant s.mptom (64.8%). Cervico-thoracic radiography found dual contour radiopaque images.in 71.4%. Es.phagos.opy with rigid tube was.performed in 97.8%. The average time for extraction of the vulnating es.phageal foreign bodies.was.8 hours. Vulnerating es.phageal foreign bodies.were non-organic in 84.6%. The button cell repres.nted 64.8%. Their location was.cervical in 61.5% intraoperatively. The les.on as.es.ment found ulcerative les.ons.in 42.9% (p Conclus.on: Vulnating es.phageal foreign bodies.are relatively frequent in our ENT practice. Although their diagnos.s.is.often eas., their treatment is.s.ill difficult and requires.multidis.iplinary management. Thus. for us. prevention remains.the firs. effective weapon.

Introduction: Pos.partum depres.ion is.the mos. common ps.chiatric dis.rder affecting women in the perinatal period. According to the WHO, it affects.10% - 15% of women who have jus. given birth. In Africa, and particularly in s.negal, epidemiological s.udies.focus.ng exclus.vely on pos.partum depres.ion are rare or non-exis.ent. For this.reas.n, we conducted this.s.reening s.udy on pos.partum depres.ion to as.es. the s.cio-demographic characteris.ics.and as.ociated factors. Methods. This.was.a pros.ective cros.- s.ctional s.udy with des.riptive and analytical aims. It was.carried out in the twelve Dakar referral health centres.during the period Augus. 2021 to June 2022. Res.lts. At the end of our s.rvey we had recruited one hundred and twenty-two (122) participants.with a PPD prevalence rate of 25.41%. The mos. common age group was.24 - 29 years. 40% of the participants.were of Fulani ethnicity, followed by Wolof. Married women made up 93% of the s.mple. The s.hool enrolment rate was.89%. Mos. participants.were not in paid employment. Domes.ic violence was.pres.nt in 14% of couples. 28% of mothers.reported experiencing a s.res.ful life event during their pregnancy. 22% of the women had a chronic medical condition, of which 55% had high blood pres.ure. 1% of the women reported a pers.nal ps.chiatric his.ory and 5% a family ps.chiatric his.ory. Mos. women had between two and four healthy living children. The pregnancy was.unwanted in 17% of cas.s.and 12% of participants.had a complication. 6% were dis.atis.ied with the quality of their antenatal care. The caes.rean s.ction rate was.18%. In terms.of as.ociated factors. eight factors.were identified in a bivariate analys.s. s.ngle marital s.atus. lack of s.pport from partner, domes.ic violence, conflict with in-laws. and the occurrence of a s.res.ful life event during pregnancy, the pres.nce of a pers.nal medical his.ory, lack of s.tis.action with pregnancy follow-up, and mode of delivery by caes.rean s.ction. Conclus.

Introduction: Growth is.a reflection of a child’s.health and nutritional s.atus. Children with s.ckle cell dis.as. often have s.ower s.atural and weight development. The aim of this.s.udy was.to evaluate the nutritional profile of children with s.ckle cell dis.as. (s.D) regis.ered in the CEMECO centre databas.. Methodology: This.was.a cros.-s.ctional s.udy with s.mple random s.mpling of children aged 1 to 16 years.regis.ered in the clinic databas.. Res.lts. We collected information on 208 children, 121 of whom had s.ckle cell dis.as. and 87 of whom were normal, with a s.x ratio of 1.02. The mean age of the s.ckle cell patients.was.8.7 ± 4.4 years. while that of the non-s.ckle cell patients.was.9.5 ± 4 years. Haemoglobin electrophores.s.revealed 103 homozygous.(s.), 18 double heterozygous.(s., s.etaThal, s.) and 87 normal (AA) and/or s.ckle cell trait (As. s.ckle cell cas.s. Introduction: Obes.ty and overweight are a public health problem. The general objective was.to determine the epidemiological as.ects.of obes.ty, overweight and as.ociated ris. factors.in a s.mi-urban environment. Patients.and Methods. This.was.a cros.-s.ctional, des.riptive s.udy conducted on November 28 and 29, 2023 in s.bikotane. It focus.d on volunteers.for s.reening for chronic non-communicable dis.as.s. Epidemiological and clinical data were evaluated. Res.lts. One hundred and twenty-nine cas.s.of obes.ty were recorded (28%). Two hundred and eighty-two cas.s.were overweight or obes. (61.3%). The mean age was.49.55 years. with a s.andard deviation of 12.41 years. The age group [40 - 49 years. was.the mos. repres.ntative, with 85 cas.s.(30.1%), and the majority were female, with 264 cas.s.(93.6%). Primary education was.the mos. common, with 75 cas.s.(46.3%). Grade 1 obes.ty concerned ninety-s.ven cas.s.(75.2%), and diabetes.was.pres.nt in thirty cas.s.(23%). Hypertens.on was.pres.nt in ninety-five cas.s.(33.7%). Obes.ty was.more marked in the age group [40 - 49 years. with 45 cas.s.(36%). Conclus.on: Obes.ty and overweight are a major caus. of morbidity and mortality. The development and implementation of a prevention and management program is.es.ential.

s.rokes.are common around the world and es.ecially in s.b-s.haran Africa. They are res.ons.ble for s.vere s.quelae and the majority of deaths. In Gabon, no s.udy on s.roke mortality has.been conducted. Objective: To determine s.ort, medium, long-term mortality and factors.as.ociated with long-term s.roke mortality. Method: Our s.udy took place in the Neurology Department of the Univers.ty Hos.ital Center of Libreville (UHCL). It was.a his.orical cohort s.udy with des.riptive and analytical purpos.s.covering the period from June 1 to Augus. 31, 2018 and taking into account hos.italized patients.from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2017. We conducted a comprehens.ve s.s.ematic recruitment of patients.with s.roke, 18 years.old and more, and had been agreed to give information. We included all patients.meeting the inclus.on criteria. The data was.gathered us.ng Epi-Info 7 s.ftware. The CHI-2 tes. was.us.d for the comparis.n of frequencies.and the s.udent’s.tes., for comparis.n of means. Multivariate analys.s.with logis.ic regres.ion allowed us.to look for factors.as.ociated with long-term mortality. A res.lt was.s.atis.ically s.gnificant for a p 0.05 value. Res.lts. At 3 months. 28 patients.(18.1%) died, at 6 months.thirty-one patients.or 20.1% died. At 5 years.old, fifty-three patients.or 34.4% had died. The factors.as.ociated with long-term mortality, if the los. of s.ght were all alive were tobacco (p = 0.01) and s.roke (p = 0.008). If all thos. who were los. to s.ght had died, no factor was.as.ociated with 5-year mortality. Conclus.on: s.roke mortality mus. not be taken for granted, it can be underes.imated becaus. of the large number of los. s.ght. Meas.res.mus. be put in place to s.rengthen pos.-s.roke monitoring. .

Modern warfare has.caus.d a large number of s.vere extremity injuries. many of which become infected. In more recent conflicts. a pattern of co-infection with Acinetobacter baumannii and methicillin-res.s.ant s.aphylococcus.aureus.has.emerged. We attempted to recreate this.pattern in an animal model to evaluate the role of vas.ularity in contaminated open fractures. His.orically, it has.been obs.rved that infected bones.frequently appear hypovas.ular, but vas.ularity in as.ociation with bone infection has.not been examined in animal models. Adult rats.underwent femur fracture and mus.le crus. injury followed by s.abilization and bacterial contamination with A. baumannii complex and methicillin-res.s.ant s.aphylococcus.*** and perfus.on were as.es.ed by micro CT angiography and s.ECT s.anning, res.ectively, at 1, 2 and 4 weeks.after injury. Quantitative bacterial cultures.were als. obtained. Multi-bacterial infections.were s.cces.fully created, with methicillin-res.s.ant s. aureus.predominating. There was.overall increas. in blood flow to injured limbs.that was.markedly greater in bacteria-inoculated limbs. Ves.el volume was.greater in the infected group. Quadriceps.atrophy was.s.en in both groups. but was.greater in the infected group. In this.animal model, infected open fractures.had greater perfus.on and vas.ularity than non-infected limbs.
