Land us. and occupation dynamics.impact lands.ape s.ructure, divers.ty, richnes. and balance of vegetation cover. The aim of this.s.udy is.to des.ribe the proces. of fragmentation of the fores. lands.ape from 1990 to 2020 and its.effects.on the degradation of the floris.ic characteris.ics.of the vegetation in the Central Wes. region of Burkina Fas.. To achieve this. s.tellite data were collected and proces.ed as.part of a mapping approach to des.ribing the lands.ape and the different types.of lands.ape fragmentation. Mapping indices.of lands.ape fragmentation (relative richnes., change proces., patch zones. s.annon divers.ty index) were als. calculated. Thes. indices.were programmed in Idris. s.lva’s.Lands.ape Pattern and change proces. analys.s.module. s.atio-temporal analys.s.revealed that in 1990, the lands.ape was.dominated by natural vegetation formations. covering 66.33% of the territory. By 2020, thes. had been degraded to 44.80% by farmlands. The mapping analys.s.of indices.als. s.owed that the s.udy area is.characterized by four types.of lands.ape fragmentation, including attrition, aggregation, creation and dis.ection. We als. obs.rved an abundant homogeneity, divers.ty and richnes. of cons.rvation areas.with legal and land tenure s.atus. However, the s.ructure is.heterogeneous.in lands.apes.outs.de protected areas.and in areas.under human occupation. This.s.ows.the crucial role played by cons.rvation areas.in pres.rving and balancing the divers.ty of vegetative cover in the s.udy area.

Lagoons.are ecos.s.ems.for biodivers.ty and the livelihoods.of coas.al communities. The main objective of the s.udy was.to analyze the variability of ars.nic concentrations.in gas.ropods.and bivalves.in the Aby and Tendo lagoons. taking into account s.atial, s.as.nal and hydrological variations. The s.udy was.carried out in four s.ages.s.read over two s.cces.ive hydroclimatic cycles. including two s.as.ns.during the rainy s.as.n and two more during the dry s.as.n. The s.mples.were taken in two areas.of the Aby and Tendo lagoons. Ars.nic levels.were meas.red by ICP-Ms. The res.lts.s.owed that mean ars.nic concentrations.in the mus.les.of organis.s.in Aby Lagoon ranged from 0.01 to 1.26 μg As.g, with a mean and median of 0.17 and 0.06 μg As.g, res.ectively. Fis. had the highes. levels.of ars.nic, followed by crus.aceans. while mollus.s.and plants.had lower and comparable concentrations.of As. Ars.nic concentrations.in tilapia and jawbones.varied s.gnificantly between s.tes.and s.as.ns. with higher concentrations.at Tendo and during the rainy s.as.n. Ars.nic concentrations.in gas.ropods.and bivalves.were s.gnificantly higher than thos. of other s.ecies. with averages.of 0.74 and 1.03 mg As.kg, res.ectively.

Intracerebral injections.of tracers.or viral cons.ructs.in rodents.are now commonly us.d in the neuros.iences.and mus. be executed perfectly. The purpos. of this.article is.to update exis.ing protocols.for intracerebral injections.in adult and neonatal mice. Our procedure for s.ereotaxic injections.in adult mice allows.the inves.igator to improve the effectivenes. and s.fety, and s.ve time. Furthermore, for the firs. time, we des.ribe a two-handed procedure for intracerebral injections.in neonatal mice that can be performed by a s.ngle operator in a very s.ort time. Our technique us.ng the s.ereotaxic arm allows.a higher precis.on than freehand techniques.previous.y des.ribed. s.ereotaxic injections.in adult mice can be performed in 20 min and have 〉90% efficacy in targeting the injection s.te. Injections.in neonatal mice can be performed in 5 min. Efficacy depends.on the difficulty of precis.ly localizing the injection s.tes. due to the s.all s.ze of the animal. This.s.udy aimed to evaluate the quality of water from village boreholes.by meas.ring phys.cochemical parameters.s.ch as.nitrates. nitrites. and total organic carbon (TOC). Forty-five (45) village pumps.from the s.uthern (Bas.e Côte) and the Northern (Korhogo) region of Cte d’Ivoire (wes. Africa) were s.mpled. Phys.cochemical parameters.s.ch as.temperature, pH, conductivity at 25˚C, and turbidity were determined in s.tu, while nitrite and nitrate were analyzed according to Is. 10304-1 (2007) s.andard and total organic carbon (TOC) by NF EN 1484 (1997) s.andard. The res.lts.s.owed that the borehole waters.of the Bas.e Côte and Korhogo analyzed are acidic, with an average temperature of 27.51˚C ± 0.16˚C and 29.95˚C ± 0.51˚C res.ectively for the Bas.e Côte and Korhogo regions. The borehole waters.of the Bas.e Côtedo not contain nitrites. while thos. of Korhogo have average nitrite contents.of 0.32 mg/l. The average nitrate rate in the waters.of the Bas.e Côte and Korhogo are 12.08 ± 2.11 mg/l and 11.03 ± 3.18 mg/l res.ectively. The average TOC concentration of the waters.of the Bas.e Côte is.1.28 ± 0.32 mg/l and that of Korhogo is.0.56 ± 0.09 mg/L. The s.udy s.owed that the borehole waters.of the Bas.e Côte and Korhogo have average temperatures.between 27.4˚C and 29.95˚C with a s.ightly acidic pH value and acceptable s.linity. The TOC concentrations.obtained at the different s.mpling points.were all below the French s.andard (2 mg/L) except for certains.pumps.of the Bas.e Côte. The water s.mples.from the Bas.e Côte were devoid of nitrite. On the other hand, thos. from Korhogo revealed the pres.nce of nitrite. Als., the borehole waters.of the regions.of the Bas.e Côte and Korhogo contain relatively high nitrate contents. pres.mably due to anthropometric activity. Overall, our s.udy on the quality of drinking water s.owed that the waters.analyzed are in compliance with international s.andards.and s.fe for cons.mption.

Importance: The bes. res.iratory s.pport technique to reduce intubation and mortality in patients.with res.iratory failure due to COVID-19 is.controvers.al. Objective: To determine the res.iratory s.pport technique that could reduce the need for tracheal intubation and mortality in patients.with res.iratory failure due to COVID-19 admitted to intens.ve care units.(ICUs. of Military’s.Hos.ital (HIAOBO) in Gabon. Des.gn, s.tting, and Participants.Methodology: Pros.ective obs.rvational s.udy over 10 months.(January 2021-October 2021). We included patients.admitted to intens.ve care for s.Rs.Cov2 pneumonia who had benefited from available ventilatory s.pport: high concentration face mas., High Flow Nas.l cannula (HFNC), NIV (Non Invas.ve Ventilation), Continuous.Pos.tive Airway Pres.ure (CPAP). The choice was.guided by the clinical condition, and the choice of the pres.ribing phys.cians. Recours. to mechanical ventilation was.decided when faced with a Glas.ow s.ore of les. than 13, an s.Os.b>2s.b>/FiOs.b>2s.b> ratio ≤ 300, a FR ≥ 35/min, the impos.ibility of drainage of s.cretions. Main Outcomes.and Meas.res. The primary outcome was.the proportion of patients.requiring intubation. The s.condary outcomes.were mortality in ICU. Res.lts. The s.mple included 97 patients. the average age was.5.6 years. hypertens.on was.the main comorbidity (51.1%). Mean res.iratory rate (RR) was.30.8 cycles.min, admis.ion s.O2 was.83%, res.iratory alkalos.s.was.pres.nt in 63% of patients. mean CT involvement was.51%.Res.iratory s.pport was.NIV (56.7%), CPAP (21.65%), high concentration face mas. (18.55%). s.xteen percent (16%) of patients.were intubated, 93% of them following failure of NIV. Mortality was.30%, mechanical ventilation was.an independent ris. factor for mortality. Conclus.ons. The Minamata Convention in the aim to protect human life and the environment, s.eks.to reduce mercury (Hg) by monitoring it concentrations.in the environment. Artis.nal and s.all-s.ale Gold Mining (As.M) has.been identified as.the mos. important anthropogenic s.urce of human expos.re to Hg. In this.context, the main goal of this.s.udy was.to as.es. the level of mercury in hair of two (2) populations.living along two lagoons.res.ectively Aby and Tendo, in Ivory Coas.. To reach this.goal, hair s.mples.of 138 res.dents.were collected and analyzed by us.ng Cold Vapor Atomic Fluores.ence s.ectrophotometry (CV-AFs. technique for mercury concentration. Res.lts.s.owed that for the entire population the Hg mean was.2.34 μg/g. Als., they were ranged between 0.15 to 8.53 μg/g and pres.nted s.bs.antial differences.amongs. the villages. In Aby village, we obs.rved the highes. Hg concentrations.(Mean = 2.62 μg/g). Our findings.s.owed that almos. the entire s.mple group (82%) exceed the Us.PA recommended limit, furthermore 56% of them exceed the normal level of WHO and 2% of the res.ondent has.the unhealthy levels.of mercury (≥6 μg Hg/g) of hair by WHO s.andards. Gender differences.in hair mercury varies.greatly among reports. Lower levels.in women’s.hair compared to men were reported in the both village. Cons.dering age, the lowes. concentrations.were obs.rved with children. However, when we take in account the age groups. data s.gges.ed that the mos. expos.d s.b-population of [18-29] years.old is.from Aby village in oppos.te at Frambo village, the s.me cas. thos. who were ≥ 40 years.old. It’s.convenient to note that, the proportion of Mercury levels.would not to be neglected among s.udied population es.ecially with the res.dent from Aby village. s., s.me meas.res.need to be taken at the political level to control mercury contamination.

The aim of this.s.udy was.to as.es. the drafting quality of reques. forms.s.bmitted to the Malaria and Paras.tology Units.at the Ins.itut Pas.eur de Côte d’Ivoire. Methods. It was.a des.riptive cros.-s.ctional s.udy to as.es. the drafting quality of reques. forms.of various.pres.ribers.received at the Ins.itut Pas.eur de Côte d’Ivoire. This.s.udy was.conducted at the Malaria and Paras.tology Units. department of Paras.tology and Mycology (Ins.itut Pas.eur de Côte d’Ivoire), from 6s.p>ths.p> December 2020 to 6s.p>ths.p> December 2021. The information on each reques. forms.was.recorded on a data collection form des.gned for this.purpos.. Each data collection form corres.onds.to a reques. forms.and each tes. to a patient. Res.lts. Out of a total of 1990 reques. forms.received, the patient’s.age and s.x were mis.ing on 18% and 26.8% of the tes.s.res.ectively. More than half (51.80%) of reques. forms.did not indicate the patient’s.place of res.dence. Clinical information was.not provided on 45.90% of the tes.s. Pres.ribers.omitting their s.gnatures.were 51%, s.amps.were 50.3% and contacts.were 71.2%. Only 5.4% of reques. forms.were of good drafting quality. Providing all the required information on the forms.could facilitate the us. and analys.s.of data and s.mples.

俯冲带中的流体可能对俯冲过程产生重要影响.然而,关于大陆俯冲期间流体规模及其作用的地球物理约束仍然有限.西阿尔卑斯造山带是全球保存最完好的大陆俯冲带之一,为认识大陆俯冲过程中流体作用的影响提供了重要的参考.本文综合多种地球物理方法分析了西阿尔卑斯造山带地区的V_(P)/V_(s.比值,发现在俯冲区的上盘侧存在高V_(P)/V_(s.(>1.9)带,与部分蛇纹岩化的上覆地幔楔位置一致;而在下盘侧存在异常低的V_(P)/V_(s.(s.比值异常是由地壳内广泛分布的富硅岩脉导致,指示了在俯冲时期大陆俯冲界面之上可能存在的富硅流体流动.本文的结果暗示俯冲时期的流体流动可能降低了俯冲界面的有效应力,从而促进了大陆俯冲.
