Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles by using mangrove plant extract and their potential mosquito larvicidal property

Objective:To identify the larvicidal activities of silver nano particles synthesised with Rhizophora mucronata（***） leaf extract against the larvae of Aedes aegypti（***） and Culex quinquefasciatus（***）.Methods:In vitro larvicidal activities such as LCsub>50sub> and LCsub>90sub> were assessed for the *** and *** larval ***, characterisation such as UV,XRD,FTIR and AFM analysis were carried out for the synthesised silver nano ***:The LCsub>50sub> value of the synthesised silver nano particle was identified as 0.585 and 0.891 mgg/L for *** and *** larvae respectively. Further,the LGsub>90sub> values are also identified as 2.615 and 6.291 mg/L for *** and Cx. quinquefasciatus species *** synthesised silver nanoparticles have maximum absorption at 420 nm with the average size of 60-95 *** XRD data showed 20 intense values with various degrees such as 37.10°,47.66°,63.97°and 70.01°.The FTIR data showed prominent peaks in（3 426.89,2 925.49,2 869.56,2 346.95,1 631.49,1 031.73,669.18 and 455.12） different ***:The biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles with leaf aqueous extract of R. mucronata provides potential source for the larvicidal activity against mosquito borne diseases.

The present study focused on the estimation of submarine groundwater discharge(sGD)and the effects of nutrient fluxes due to the sGD *** parameters of sGD such as magnitude,character,and nutrient flux in Punnakayal region of south East coast of India were evaluated using multiple tracers of groundwater inputs in *** was found that the elevated values for the tracers in the study area,displayed a gradational change in the values as move from estuarine part to the *** occurrence of fresh and saline sGD is observed on the study ***,indicated that the sGD fluxes ranged from 0.04 to 0.12 m^3 m^-2d^-1 at the estuary and0.03-0.15 m^3 m^-2d^-1at the groundwater site.A substantially increased value for 222 Rn activities is distinguished in the estuary to values over 312 dpm L^-*** embellishments were generally greatest at locations with substantial meteoric elements in groundwater;however,the recirculation of saltwater through the geological formation could provide a way of transferring terrestrially-derived nutrients to the coastal zone at many places.

An Adaptive scalable Data Pipeline for Multiclass Attack Classification in Large-scale IoT Networks

The current large-scale Internet of Things(IoT)networks typically generate high-velocity network traffic *** use IoT devices to create botnets and launch attacks,such as DDos,spamming,Cryptocurrency mining,Phishing,*** service providers of large-scale IoT networks need to set up a data pipeline to collect the vast network traffic data from the IoT devices,store it,analyze it,and report the malicious IoT devices and types of ***,the attacks originating from IoT devices are dynamic,as attackers launch one kind of attack at one time and another kind of attack at another *** number of attacks and benign instances also vary from time to *** phenomenon of change in attack patterns is called concept ***,the attack detection system must learn continuously from the ever-changing real-time attack patterns in large-scale IoT network *** meet this requirement,in this work,we propose a data pipeline with Apache Kafka,Apache spark structured streaming,and MongoDB that can adapt to the ever-changing attack patterns in real time and classify attacks in large-scale IoT *** concept drift is detected,the proposed system retrains the classifier with the instances that cause the drift and a representative subsample instances from the previous training of the *** proposed approach is evaluated with the latest dataset,IoT23,which consists of benign and several attack instances from various IoT *** classification accuracy is improved from 97.8%to 99.46%by the proposed *** training time of distributed random forest algorithm is also studied by varying the number of cores in Apache spark environment.

5-Fluorouracil Loaded Chitosan–PVA/Na^+MMT Nanocomposite Films for Drug Release and Antimicrobial Activity

In the present study, chitosan and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) were blended with different concentrations of sodium montmorillonite(Na^+MMT) clay solution by a solvent casting method. X-ray diffraction and transition electron microscope results show that the film properties are related to the co-existence of Na^+MMT intercalation/exfoliation in the blend and the interaction between chitosan–PVA and Na^+MMT. 5-Fluorouracil(5-FU) was loaded with chitosan–PVA/Na^+MMT nanocomposite films for in vitro drug delivery study. The antimicrobial activity of the chitosan–PVA/Na^+MMT films showed significant effect against salmonella(Gram-negative) and staphylococcus aureus(Gram-positive), whereas5-FU encapsulated chitosan–PVA/Na^+MMT bio-nanocomposite films did not show any inhibition against bacteria. Our results indicate that combination of a flexible and soft polymeric material with high drug loading ability of a hard inorganic porous material can produce improved control over degradation and drug release. It will be an economically viable method for preparation of advanced drug delivery vehicles and biodegradable implants or scaffolds.

Response Analysis of Tension-Based Tension Leg Platform Under Irregular Waves

Tension Leg Platform（TLP） is a hybrid structure used as oil drilling and production facility within water depths of 1200 m. The extension of this TLP concept to deeper waters is a challenge and warrants for some innovative design concepts. In this paper, a relatively new concept of TLP which is christened as Tension-Based Tension Leg Platform（TBTLP） and patented by srinivasan（1998） has been chosen for study. Response analysis of TLP with one tension base under irregular waves for three different sea states has been performed using hydrodynamic tool ANsYs？ AQWA？. Results are reported in terms of RAOs, response spectrums for surge, heave and pitch degrees of freedom from which spectral statistics have been obtained. The statistics of TBTLP have been compared with TLPs（without tension base） for two different water depths to highlight the features of the new concept. The effect of viscous damping and loading effects on the RAOs are also investigated.

sIGNATUREs OF UNIVERsAL CHARACTERIsTICs OF FRACTAL FLUCTUATIONs IN GLOBAL MEAN MONTHLY TEMPERATURE ANOMALIEs

This paper proposes a general systems theory for fractals visualising the emergence of successively larger scale fluctuations resulting from the space-time integration of enclosed smaller scale fluctuations. Global gridded time series data sets of monthly mean temperatures for the period 1880- 2007/2008 are analysed to show that data sets and corresponding power spectra exhibit distributions close to the model predicted inverse power law distribution. The model predicted and observed universal spectrum for interannual variability rules out linear secular trends in global monthly mean temperatures. Global warming results in intensification of fluctuations of all scales and manifested immediately in high frequency fluctuations.

Bile salt induced solubilization of methylene blue: study on methylene blue fluorescence properties and molecular mechanics calculation

Methylene blue(MB) is a hydrophobic drug molecule, having importance both as a staining reagent and pharmaceutical agent. MB is strongly fluorescent, with an emission peak at 686 nm(λ_(ex)665 nm). In the study,the possibility of MB as an extrinsic fluorophore to study the micellization behavior of bile salts(Bss) was carried out. since Bss are drug delivery systems, the solubilization of hydrophobic MB drug molecule by Bss was achieved and the nature of association of MB with Bs media, namely sodium cholate(Na C) and sodium deoxycholate(Na DC) was evaluated. Change in the photophysical properties of MB is monitored through fluorescence intensity and fluorescence anisotropy at emission peak, 686 nm of MB. Molecular mechanics calculations were carried out to evaluate the MB–Bs association. The estimated heat of formation, ΔH_f values are –625.19 kcal/mol for MB–Na C and –757.48 kcal/mol for MB–Na DC. The photophysical study also revealed that MB reports the step-wise aggregation pattern of Bss media, as an extrinsic fluorescence probe.

Characterization of cytotoxic compound from marine sediment derived actinomycete streptomyces avidinii strain sU4

To investigate the cytotoxic activity of actinomycete isolated from marine sediment. Methods: In the present study the DNA was isolated and the ITs region of 16s rRNA was amplified by polymerase chain reaction, using two universal bacterial primers, 1492R (5′-GGTTACCTTGTTAC GACTT-3′) and Eubac27F (5′-AGAGTTTGATCCTGGCTC AG-3′). The amplified products were purified using TIANgel mini purification kit, ligated to MD18-T simple vector (TaKaRa), and transformed into competent cells of Escherichia coli DH5α. 16s rRNA gene fragment was sequenced using forward primer M13F (-47) and reverse primer M13R (-48). Blast search sequence similarity was found against the existing non-redundant nucleotide sequence database thus, identified as streptomyces sp sU, streptomyces rubralavandulae strain sU1, streptomyces cacaoi strain sU2, streptomyces cavourensis strain sU3, streptomyces avidinii strain sU4, streptomyces globisporus strain sU5, streptomyces variabilis strain sU6, streptomycescoelicolor strain sU 7. Among the eight identified isolates, one actinomycete streptomyces avidinii strain sU4 was selected for further study. Results: Crude extract of the actinomycete isolate exhibited IC50 in 64.5 μg against Hep-2 cell line, 250 μg in VERO cell line. This value is very close to the criteria of cytotoxicity activity for the crude extracts, as established by the American National Cancer Institute (NCI) is in IC50 s analysis showed that the active principle might be 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, bis(2-methylpropyl) ester (12.17%), isooctyl phthalate (15.29%) with the retention time 15.642 and 21.612, respectively. Conclusions: This study clearly proves that the marine sediment derived actinomycetes with bioactive metabolites can be expected to provide high quality biological material for high throughout biochemical and anticancer screening programs. Platinum-supported ordered mesoporous carbon catalysts were prepared employing colloidal platinum reduced by four different reducing agents,viz.,paraformaldehyde,sodium *** glycol and hydrogen,and deposited over ordered mesoporous carbon (CMK-3) synthesized by silica hard template(sBA-15).The resulting platinum nanoparticles supported mesoporous carbon,designated as Pt/*** were tested for the electocatalytic oxidation of *** effect of the various reduction methods on the influence of particle size vis-a-vis on the electrocatalytic effect is *** the catalysts were systematically characterized by *** and *** results of the synthetic methods,characterization techniques and the electrocatalytic performance indicate that the Pt/CMK-3 catalysts are superior to that prepared with activated carbon(Pt/AC) as well as with that of the commercial platinum-supported carbon catalyst(Pt/E-TEK).In particular,the catalyst,Pt/CMK-3,prepared using paraformaldehyde reduced platinum showed much higher activity and long-term stability as compared to the other reducing methods.

A Universal spectrum for Interannual Variability of Monsoon Rainfall over India

Continuous periodogram analyses of 115 years (1871-1985) summer monsoon rainfall over the Indian region show that the power spectra follow the universal and unique inverse power law form of the statistical normal distribution with the percentage contribution to total variance representing the eddy probability corresponding to the normalized standard deviation equal to [(log L / log T50)-1] where L is the period length in years and T50 the period up to which the cumulative percentage contribution to total variance is equal to 50. The above results are consistent with a recently developed non-deterministic cell dynamical model for atmospheric flows. The implications of the above result for prediction of interannual variability of rainfall is discussed.
