Exploring a New Lifetime Distribution for Modelling the Waiting Time of Bank c.stomers

The fitting of lifetime distribution in real-life data has been studied in various fields of researc.. With the theory of evolution still applic.ble, more c.mplex data from real-world sc.narios will c.ntinue to emerge. Despite this, many researc.ers have made c.mmendable efforts to develop new lifetime distributions that c.n fit this c.mplex data. In this paper, we utilized the KM-transformation tec.nique to inc.ease the flexibility of the power Lindley distribution, resulting in the Kavya-Manoharan Power Lindley (KMPL) distribution. We study the mathematic.l treatments of the KMPL distribution in detail and adapt the widely used method of maximum likelihood to estimate the unknown parameters of the KMPL distribution. We c.rry out a Monte c.rlo simulation study to investigate the performanc. of the Maximum Likelihood Estimates (MLEs) of the parameters of the KMPL distribution. To demonstrate the effec.iveness of the KMPL distribution for data fitting, we use a real dataset c.mprising the waiting time of 100 bank c.stomers. We c.mpare the KMPL distribution with other models that are extensions of the power Lindley distribution. Based on some statistic.l model selec.ion c.iteria, the summary results of the analysis were in favor of the KMPL distribution. We further investigate the density fit and probability-probability (p-p) plots to validate the superiority of the KMPL distribution over the c.mpeting distributions for fitting the waiting time dataset.

Bac.ground: Panc.eatic.duc.al adenoc.rc.noma (PDAc. is an aggressive malignanc. c.arac.erized by abundant granuloc.tic.myeloid-derived suppressor c.lls (G-MDSc.= c.45+/Lin﹣/c.33+/c.11b+/c.15+), whic. infiltrate tumors and suppress anti-tumor immunity. We have previously demonstrated in a murine model of PDAc.that zoledronic.ac.d (ZA) depletes G-MDSc.resulting in dec.eased tumor growth and improved survival. We report here the results of a phase 1 c.inic.l trial (Nc.00892242) using ZA as neo-adjuvant, perioperative therapy in patients with non-metastatic. resec.able panc.eatic.adenoc.rc.noma. Methods: Eligible PDAc.patients rec.ived ZA (4 mg) IV 2 weeks prior to surgery. Patients then rec.ived 2 additional doses of ZA 4 weeks apart. Blood and bone marrow were obtained from patients prior to treatment with ZA and 3 months after surgery for analysis of G-MDSc.by flow c.tometry. Results: Twenty-three patients rec.ived pre-operative ZA with at least 6 months of follow-up. Only 15 PDAc.patients had nonmetastatic.PDAc. whic. was amenable to resec.ion. ZA was well tolerated, and all adverse events were grade 1 or 2. The most c.mmon adverse events were fatigue, abdominal pain/disc.mfort, anorexia, and arthralgia. Of resec.ed PDAc.patients treated with ZA, 1- and 2-year overall survival (OS) was 85.7% and 33.3%, respec.ively, with a median OS of 18 months. This group had a 1- and 2-year progression-free survival (PFS) of 26.9% and 8.9%, respec.ively, with a median PFS of 12 months. The prevalenc. of G-MDSc.was unc.anged in the blood and bone marrow of PDAc.patients pre- and post-treatment with ZA. c.nc.usion: ZA is safe and well tolerated as neo-adjuvant, peri-operative therapy in PDAc.patients. In this small study, we did not observe a differenc. in OS or PFS c.mpared to historic.l c.ntrols. Also, there was no differenc. in the prevalenc. of G-MDSc.in the blood and bone marrow of PDAc.patients pre- and post-treatment with ZA.

Performanc. of evolutionary optimized mac.ine learning for modeling total organic.c.rbon in c.re samples of shale gas fields

Roc. samples' TOc.c.ntent is the best indic.tor of the organic.matter in sourc. roc.s. The origin roc. samples' analysis is used to c.lc.late it manually by spec.alists. This method requires time and resourc.s bec.use it relies on samples from many well intervals in sourc. roc.s. Therefore, researc. has been done to aid this effort. Mac.ine learning algorithms c.n estimate total organic.c.rbon instead of well logs and stratigraphic.studies. In light of these efforts, the c.rrent work present a study on automating the total organic.c.rbon estimation using mac.ine learning approac.es improved by an evolutionary methodology to give the model flexibility and prec.sion. Genetic.algorithms, differential evolution, partic.e swarm optimization, grey wolf optimization, artific.al bee c.lony, and evolution strategies were used to improve mac.ine learning models to predic. TOc. The six metaheuristic. were integrated into four mac.ine learning methods: extreme learning mac.ine, elastic.net linear model, linear support vec.or regression, and multivariate adaptive regression splines. c.re samples from the YuDong-Nan shale gas field, loc.ted in the Sic.uan basin, were used to evaluate the hybrid strategy. The findings show that c.mbining mac.ine learning models with an evolutionary algorithms in a hybrid fashion produc. flexible models that ac.urately predic. TOc. The results show that, independent of the metaheuristic.used to guide the model selec.ion, optimized extreme learning mac.ines attained the best performanc. sc.res ac.ording to six metric.. Suc. hybrid models c.n be used in exploratory geologic.l researc.,partic.larly for unc.nventional oil and gas resourc.s.

Realizing the full potential of ultrahigh-intensity lasers for partic.e and radiation generation will require multi-beam arrangements due to tec.nology ***,we investigate how to optimize their c.upling with solid ***,we show that overlapping two intense lasers in a mirror-like c.nfiguration onto a solid with a large preplasma c.n greatly improve the generation of hot elec.rons at the target front and ion ac.eleration at the target *** underlying mec.anisms are analyzed through multidimensional partic.e-in-c.ll simulations,revealing that the self-induc.d magnetic.fields driven by the two laser beams at the target front are susc.ptible to rec.nnec.ion,whic. is one possible mec.anism to boost elec.ron *** addition,the resistive magnetic.field generated during the transport of the hot elec.rons in the target bulk tends to improve their *** simulations also indic.te that suc. effec.s c.n be further enhanc.d by overlapping more than two laser beams.

The layer Hall effec. desc.ibes elec.rons spontaneously deflec.ed to opposite sides at different layers, whic. has been experimentally reported in the MnBi2Te4thin films under perpendic.lar elec.ric.fields. Here, we reveal a universal origin of the layer Hall effec. in terms of the so-c.lled hidden Berry c.rvature, as well as material design princ.ples. Henc., it gives rise to zero Berry c.rvature in momentum spac. but non-zero layer-loc.ed hidden Berry c.rvature in real spac.. We show that, c.mpared to that of a trivial insulator, the layer Hall effec. is signific.ntly enhanc.d in antiferromagnetic.topologic.l insulators. Our universal pic.ure provides a paradigm for revealing the hidden physic. as a result of the interplay between the global and loc.l symmetries, and c.n be generalized in various sc.narios.
