Background:Episodic memory loss is a prominent clinical manifestation of Alzheimer’s disease(AD),which is closely related to tau pathology and hippocampal *** to the heterogeneity of brain neurons,the specific roles of different brain neurons in terms of their sensitivity to tau accumulation and their contribution to AD-like social memory loss remain ***,further investigation is ***:We investigated the effects of AD-like tau pathology by Tandem mass tag proteomic and phosphoproteomic analysis,social behavioural tests,hippocampal electrophysiology,immunofluorescence staining and in vivo optical fibre recording of GCaMP6f and ***,we utilized optogenetics and administered ursolic acid(UA)via oral gavage to examine the effects of these agents on social memory in ***:The results of proteomic and phosphoproteomic analyses revealed the characteristics of ventral hippocampal CA1(vCA1)under both physiological conditions and AD-like tau *** tau progressively accumulated,vCA1,especially its excitatory and parvalbumin(PV)neurons,were fully filled with mislocated and phosphorylated tau(p-Tau).This finding was not observed for dorsal hippocampal CA1(dCA1).The overexpression of human tau(hTau)in excitatory and PV neurons mimicked AD-like tau accumulation,significantly inhibited neuronal excitability and suppressed distinct discrimination-associated firings of these neurons within *** excitatory and PV neurons in vCA1 at specific rhythms and time windows efficiently ameliorated tau-impaired social ***,1 month of UA administration efficiently decreased tau accumulation via autophagy in a transcription factor EB(TFEB)-dependent manner and restored the vCA1 microcircuit to ameliorate tau-impaired social ***:This study elucidated distinct protein and phosphoprotein networks between dCA1 and vCA1 and highlighted the susceptibility of the vCA1 microcircuit to AD-like tau

Minimizing pest aluminum in magnesium for the production of high-purity titanium

It is practically difficult to find titanium sponges with low and stable aluminum impurities on the market even though it is the precondition to prepare high-purity titanium. Analysis indicates that almost all the aluminum impurities in the titanium sponge are inherited from the magnesium used to reduce titanium tetrachloride. However, it remains elusive for decades why magnesium produced through the silicothermic reduction method contains a high content of aluminum impurities with large fluctuations. By recourse to thermodynamic calculations and comparative experiments, we demonstrate that fluorite, a material used as a catalyst in the silicothermic reduction method to produce magnesium, is the chief culprit for the pest aluminum and propose a mechanism to rationalize the observed phenomena. Our findings indicate that one practical way to produce qualified magnesium for the production of high-purity titanium is to abandon fluorite during the production of magnesium with the silicothermic reduction method.

Sublingual Nodules:Diagnostic Markers of Metastatic Breast Cancer

Objective： To evaluate the diagnostic significance of sublingual nodules for metastasis of patients with breast cancer and further to explore the mechanisms of sublingual nodules. Methods： The image data of 117 in-patients with breast cancer in stage I -IV in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from December 2009 to September 2011 were assessed retrospectively. All photos of patients＇ tongue were recorded by the digital camera of uniform type within 1 month after serological examination and regular re-examined by computed tomography （CT）, magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography CT. The presence of sublingual nodules was the positive standard. Chi square test and two-independent-sample test were used to determine the diagnostic value between the status of sublingual nodules and Clinico-pathological characteristics. The optimal cut-off of uric acid （UA） level to diagnose sublingual nodules was determined by receiver operating curve （ROC） analysis. Results： Breast cancer patients with sublingual nodules had a higher risk of recurrence and/or metastasis than patients without it （P〈0.001）. Sublingual nodules was significantly correlated with increased serum UA level （P=0.001）. The optimal cut-off value of UA level to diagnose sublingual nodules was 290 μ mol/L. Furthermore, the elevated serum UA level （ ≥290 μmol/L） was significantly related to breast cancer recurrence and/or metastasis （P〈0.001）. Couclusions： Sublingual nodules were potential diagnostic markers for metastatic breast cancer. The formation of sublingual nodules was associated with elevated level of serum UA.

Development of metal-organic framework(MOF)films is of great importance to expand their ***,we report a facile and universal method of liquid-phase epitaxial(LPE)layer by layer(LBL)brushing approach for fabricating MOF films on various substrates in a high-throughput *** MOF films preparation method offers a great prospective to cost-effectively construct films with short preparation time and little reagent ***,this LBL brushing approach has been implemented successfully to assemble various MOF films,including HKUST-1,zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8),Cu(bdc),and Cu_(2)(L)_(2)P(L=bdc,ndc,and cam;P=dabco and bipy).Afterwards,the classic MOF HKUST-1 and ZIF-8 films were grown on sensor chip electrode and porous fiber support for good volatile organic compounds(VOCs)selective sensing and water purification *** study demonstrates that this LBL brushing preparation method can be employed to synthesize various MOF films with a variety of characteristics to realize their sensing and separation applications.

目的:探讨慢性粒单核细胞白血病(CMML)患者SRSF2基因突变的发生情况以及其与其他基因突变和部分临床参数之间的相关性。方法:回顾性分析南京医科大学附属常州市第二人民医院、江南大学附属中心医院无锡市第二人民医院确诊的43例CMML患者的临床资料,采用二代基因测序技术进行基因突变检测。结果:在43例患者中,SRSF2基因突变检出率为39.5%,均为SRSF2p.P95点突变,其他突变率大于15%的基因分别是ASXL1(48.8%)、TET2(41.9%)、NRAS(30.2%)、RUNX1(25.6%)、SETBP1(16.3%)。CMML患者SRSF2基因突变的最常见共突变基因为ASXL1,其次为TET2。SRSF2突变型CMML患者的中位年龄为68(51-84)岁,明显高于野生型的51.5(23-85)岁,差异有显著统计学意义(P0.05)。分别对6例SRSF2mutASXL1mut及10例SRSF2wtASXL1wtCMML患者进行了有效随访,分别有4例及1例患者发生急性白血病转化,转化率分别为66.7%(4/6)和10%(1/10),比较差异具有统计学意义(P=0.036)。结论:SRSF2突变在CMML中有较高的发生率,伴SRSF2突变者具有年龄偏大、并常与ASXL1、TET2突变共存;SRSF2与ASXL1双突变的CMML患者有较高的急性白血病转化率。

Grain yield,nitrogen use efficiency and physiological performance of indica/japonica hybrid rice in response to various nitrogen rates

Utilizing the heterosis of indica/japonica hybrid rice(IJHR)is an effective way to further increase rice grain *** application of nitrogen(N)fertilizer plays a very important role in using the heterosis of IJHR to achieve its great yield ***,the responses of the grain yield and N utilization of IJHR to N application rates and the underlying physiological mechanism remain *** purpose of this study was to clarify these *** rice cultivars currently used in rice production,an IJHR cultivar Yongyou 2640(YY2640),a japonica cultivar Lianjing 7(LJ-7)and an indica cultivar yangdao 6(YD-6),were grown in the field with six N rates(0,100,200,300,400,and 500 kg ha^(-1))in 2018 and *** results showed that with the increase in N application rates,the grain yield of each test cultivar increased at first and then decreased,and the highest grain yield was at the N rate of 400 kg ha^(-1)for YY2640,with a grain yield of 13.4 t ha^(-1),and at 300 kg ha^(-1)for LJ-7 and YD-6,with grain yields of 9.4–10.6 t ha^(-1).The grain yield and N use efficiency(NUE)of YY2640 were higher than those of LJ-7 or YD-6 at the same N rate,especially at the higher N *** compared with LJ-7 or YD-6,YY2640 exhibited better physiological traits,including greater root oxidation activity and leaf photosynthetic rate,higher cytokinin content in the roots and leaves,and more remobilization of assimilates from the stem to the grain during grain *** results suggest that IJHR could attain both higher grain yield and higher NUE than inbred rice at either low or high N application *** shoot and root traits of the IJHR contribute to its higher grain yield and NUE,and a higher content of cytokinins in the IJHR plants plays a vital role in their responses to N application rates and also benefits other physiological processes.

Significant electric control of exchange bias effect in a simple CoO1-δ/Co system, grown on piezoelectric Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)0.7Ti0.3O3 (110) (PMN-PT) substrates, is achieved at room temperature. Obvious changes in both the coercivity field (HC) and the exchange bias field (HE), of 31% and 5%, respectively, have been observed when the electric field is applied to the substrate. While the change of coercivity is related to the enhanced uniaxial anisotropy in the ferromagnetic layer, the change of the exchange bias field can only originate from the spin reorientation in the antiferromagnetic CoO1-δ layer caused by the strain-induced magnetoelastic effect. A large HE/HC > 2, and HE~ 110 Oe at room temperature, as well as the low-energy fabrication of this system, make it a practical system for spintronic device applications.

Janus nanoparticles(JNPs)possess great potential in recovering the residual oil from reservoirs,however,the fundamental interaction mechanisms among nanoparticles,the oil,and reservoir wall characteristics remain to be *** this work,models of oil trapping grooves with different geometric features are subjected to molecular dynamics simulations for investigating the influences of roughness parameters on oil displacement dynamics by *** key surface geometry parameters and different degrees of surface hydrophobicity are *** results indicate that JNPs hold an outstanding performance in displacing residual oil on weakly to moderately hydrophobic ***,smaller entry and exit angles,the larger aspect ratio of the oil trapping grooves,and a bigger tip length of the rough ridges lead to superior oil *** the key geometric parameters,the aspect ratio of the oil trapping grooves plays the dominant *** insights about the interaction of surface properties and JNPs and the resulting trapped oil displacement could serve as a theoretical reference for the application of JNPs for targeted reservoir conditions.

During 6-10 January 2021,a recorded strong cold surge took place in China,with over 800 observational stations reaching their historical *** previous studies that focused on the response of either the power load or generation separately,this study quantitatively revealed the impacts on the balance between the demand and supply sides of the *** the demand side,the sensitivity of power load was found to increase substantially higher in southern China(0.533 GW°C^(−1))than in the northern region(0.139 GW°C^(−1))due to the limited municipal heating *** the supply side,the hourly wind power generation dropped from the highest of 110 GW on 6 January to the lowest of 54 GW on 9 January due to the reduction in wind *** addition,a reduction in solar power generation was observed during 8-10 ***,the balance of the power system was influenced by this cold *** an effective adaptation measure,results further showed that early warning by three weeks ahead can be obtained by an operational climate *** sensitivity of China's power system to such cold surge events may increase remarkably due to the expected increase in the proportion of wind and solar power generation in future new-type power ***,close cooperation between climate scientists and power engineers is needed to build the resilience of the power system to the cold extremes.
