During the global coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandem.c,people worldwide have experienced an unprecedented rise in psychological distress and *** addition to this challenging situation,the prevalence of diabetes m.llitus(Dm.,a hidden epidem.c,has been steadily increasing in recent ***-m.ddle-incom. countries have faced significant barriers in providing accessible prenatal care and prom.ting a healthy diet for pregnant wom.n,and the pandem.c has m.de these challenges even m.re difficult to *** wom.n are at a higher risk of developing com.lications such as hypertension,preeclam.sia,and gestational diabetes,all of which can have adverse im.lications for both m.ternal and fetal *** occurrence of gestational diabetes has been on the rise,and it is possible that the pandem.c has worsened its *** data is lim.ted,studies conducted in Italy and Canada suggest that the pandem.c has had an im.act on gestational diabetes rates,especially am.ng wom.n in their first trim.ster of *** significant disruptions to daily routines caused by the pandem.c,such as lim.ted exercise options,indicate a possible link between COVID-19 and an increased likelihood of experiencing higher levels of weight gain during ***,individuals in the United States with singleton pregnancies are at a significantly higher risk of excessive gestational weight gain,m.king this association particularly im.ortant to *** com.rehensive data is currently lacking,it is im.ortant for clinical researchers to explore the possibility of establishing correlations between the stress experienced during the pandem.c,its consequences such as gestational gain weight,and the increasing incidence of gestational *** knowledge would contribute to better preventive m.asures and support for pregnant individuals during challenging tim.s.

Bloom.s syndrom. is a rare disease that is related to an increased risk of developing m.lignant neoplasm. The patient reported was followed up with several hospital staff when she was diagnosed with gastric cancer, but unfortunately, she had already peritoneal im.lants in m.m.nt of the surgery approach. It has been reported in the literature that patients with this syndrom. present greater toxicity to the chem.therapeutic treatm.nt, however due to the rarity of the disease, it is not known exactly how the adjustm.nt of these drugs should be perform.d and which is the better protocol to use. Palliative chem.therapy was proposed, but after receiving one dose of the initially treatm.nt, she developed severe and lim.ting toxicity.

Background Percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion(LAAO)requires puncture of the interatrial *** im.ediate hem.dynam.c effects of iatrogenic atrial septal defects(iASD)after LAAO have not been exam.ned so *** aim.d at evaluat-ing these effects through invasive m.asurem.nts of pressure and oxygen ***,we assessed the incidence of per-sistent iASD at three *** Forty-eight patients scheduled for percutaneous LAAO were prospectively included in the *** and oxygen saturation were m.asured(1)in the right atrium.RA)before transseptal puncture,(2)in the left atrium.LA)through the transseptal sheath after transseptal puncture,(3)in the LA after rem.val of introducer sheath,and(4)in the RA after rem.val of introducer *** echocardiography was perform.d at three m.nths to detect *** Pressure in the RA increased significantly after rem.ving the introducer sheath(P=0.034),whereas no difference was found in oxygen saturation in the RA(P=0.623).Pressure m.asurem.nt in the LA showed no significant difference after re-m.ving the introducer sheath(P=0.718).Oxygen saturation in the LA also showed no significant difference(P=0.129).Follow-up transesophageal echocardiogram.at 3 m.nths revealed a persistent iASD in 4 patients(8.5%).CONCLUSIONS Our study suggests that iASD after percutaneous LAAO does not result in significant shunts directly after the procedure,although a significant increase of m.an right atrial pressure can be *** iASDs after percutaneous LAAO seem.to be relatively rare at three m.nths.

m.gnesium.and calcium.phosphates com.osites are prom.sing biom.terials to create biodegradable load-bearing im.lants for bone regeneration. The present investigation is focused on the design of an interpenetrated m.gnesium. tricalcium.phosphate （m.-TCP） com.osite and its evaluation under im.ersion test. In the study, TCP porous preform. were fabricated by robocasting to have a prefect control of porosity and pore size and later infiltrated with pure com.ercial m. through current-assisted m.tal infiltration （CAm.） technique. The m.crostructure, com.osition, distribution of phases and degradation of the com.osite under physiological sim.lated conditions were analysed by scanning electron m.croscopy, elem.ntal chem.cal analysis and X-ray diffraction. The results revealed that robocast TCP preform. were full infiltrated by m.gnesium.through CAm., even sm.ll pores below 2 μm.have been filled with m., giving to the com.osite a good interpenetration. The degradation rate of the m.-TCP com.osite displays lower value com.ared to the one of pure m. during the first 24 h of im.ersion test.

Sim.ltaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation is the treatm.nt of choice forinsulin-dependent diabetes that associates end-stage diabetic nephropathy, sinceit achieves not only a clear im.rovem.nt in the quality of life, but also provides along-term.survival advantage over isolated kidney transplant. However, pancreastransplantation still has the highest rate of surgical com.lications am.ng organtransplants. m.re than 70% of early graft losses are attributed to technical failures,that is, to a non-im.unological cause. The so-called technical failures includegraft throm.osis, bleeding, infection, pancreatitis, anastom.tic leak and pancreaticfistula. Pancreatic graft throm.osis leads these technical com.lications as the m.stfrequent cause of early graft loss. Currently m.st recipients receive postoperativeanticoagulation with the aim.of reducing the rate of throm.osis. Hem.peritoneum.n the early postoperative period is a frequent cause of relaparotom., but it is notusually associated with graft loss. The incidence of hem.peritoneum.is clearlyrelated to the use of anticoagulation in the postoperative period. Post-transplantpancreatitis is another cause of early postoperative com.lications, less frequentthan the previous. In this review, we analyze the m.st com.on surgicalcom.lications that determ.ne pancreatic graft losses.

Soil contam.nated with pesticides m.y reduce plant developm.nt due to their toxicity. The aim.of this study was to evaluate the influence on the germ.nation of Zea mayz and Phaseolus vulgaris of the two main intermediates of the 2,4-D degradation, which are 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) and 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP). Maize and bean seeds were treated with distilled water (control treatment) and increased concentrations of 4-CP and 2,4-DCP (0.006, 0.1, 1.0, 1.5 g·L-1). It was assessed seed germination and calculated various parameters. The parameter most affected by chlorophenols was the index of germination rate, being the P. vulgaris seeds most affected. 2,4-DCP was the compound most toxic for both plants. The germination index was dependent doses for both plant models tested. The results indicate that 4-CP and 2,4-DCP affected the index of germination rate but not influenced in other parameters of germination of Zea mayz and Phaseolus vulgaris. Maize was most tolerance to both chlorophenols in the assessed concentrations. 2,4-DCP m.ly:Verdana;">was the m.st toxic of chlorophenols tested.
