On the mathematical modelling of Adaptive Darrieus Wind Turbine

Darrieus wind turbines are experiencing a renewed interest for their application in decentralized power generation and urban installation. much attention and research efforts have been dedicated in the past to develop as an efficient standalone Darrieus turbine. Despite these efforts, these vertical axis turbines are still low in efficiency compared to the horizontal axis counterparts. The current architecture of the turbine and their inherent characteristics limit their application in low wind speed areas as confirmed experimentally and computationally by past research. To enable and extend their operation for weak wind flows, a novel design of Adaptive Darrieus Wind Turbine (ADWT) is proposed. The hybrid Darrieus Savonius rotor with dynamically varying Savonius rotor diameter based on the wind speed enables the turbine to start, efficiently operate and stop the turbine at high winds. As the wake of Savonius rotor has a profound impact on the power performance of the combined rotor, the wake of two buckets Savonius rotor in open and closed configuration is reviewed. The current study aims to develop an analytical model to predict the power coefficient and the influence of other design parameters on the proposed design. The formulated analytical model is coded in python, and the results are obtained for the 10 kW rotor. Parametric analysis on the chord length and the diameter of the closed Savonius rotor is performed in search of an optimized diameter to maximize the annual energy output. Blade torque and the rotor torque are evaluated with respect to azimuthal angle and compared with conventional Darrieus rotor. The computed results show that peak power coefficient of ADWT is 13% lower than the conventional Darrieus rotor at the rated wind speed of 10 m/s.

不明原因肾病(CKDu)是斯里兰卡亟需解决的重要民生问题,其地下水源饮用水中的溶解性污染物可能是重要的致病原因。系统分析了北部中心省内高、低、非发病区及对照区(HR、LR、NR、CR)干湿季地下水的水化学特征和DOm特性,结果表明:地下水主要呈Ca-mg-HCO3型,硬度和F-超标率较高,是地下水作为饮水安全保障最关键的指标;地下水中DOm主要为自生源,芳香性和腐熟化程度较低,主要为富里酸、腐殖酸和小分子蛋白质类物质;湿季DOm浓度较高,是Fe浓度增加的关键原因;而干季地下水中微生物活性较高,腐殖质和蛋白质发生分解,小分子络氨酸/赖氨酸的浓度增加。同时,发现不同区域地下水中DOm的生物利用性表现为HRm最稳定,SUVA为(3.29±0.44)L·(mg·m)^-1,芳香性较高。有机无机的相互作用导致赋存形态、生物可利用性的变化可能是CKDu致病的重要原因。针对以上问题,提出"吸附-除F-软化-NF-消毒"的处理策略,通过有机物吸附处理、阴离子交换除F、软化除硬分离预处理及NF深度处理等技术有效解决地下水中DOm、F-、Ca^2+和mg^2+超标的问题,实现饮用水的供给。本研究全面分析了CKDu病区地下水中的污染物组成,并提出解决策略,可为斯里兰卡饮用水安全保障提供支撑。

背景与目的:诱导共刺激分子(inducible costimulator,ICOS)属于B7-CD28免疫球蛋白超家族成员,表达于活化T细胞表面,在T细胞的激活和免疫应答中发挥重要作用;但目前对于ICOS及ICOS^+T细胞在肝细胞癌(hepatocellular carcinoma,HCC)肿瘤组织中的表达及其意义尚不清楚。该研究旨在测定ICOS、ICOS^+T细胞在HCC患者肿瘤组织中的表达情况并探讨其预后价值。方法:应用组织芯片(tissue microarrays,TmAs)和多重免疫组织化学技术(multiplex immunohistochemistry,mIHC)检测2006-2007年在复旦大学附属中山医院接受手术治疗的358例原发性HCC患者肿瘤组织和癌旁组织中ICOS^+细胞、ICOS^+CD4^+及ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞的浸润密度和ICOS^+细胞占CD4^+、CD8^+T细胞的百分比。应用Kaplanmeier法和多因素COX回归模型分析上述指标对患者预后的影响。结果:与癌旁组织相比,ICOS^+细胞和ICOS^+CD4^+T细胞在肿瘤组织中浸润数量显著增加(P<0.000 1和P=0.009 1),而ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞则呈相反的降低趋势(P=0.033);在肿瘤中,ICOS^+CD4^+T细胞的浸润程度显著高于ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞。此外,ICOS^+CD4^+和ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞占各自T细胞亚群的百分比在肿瘤组织中均显著增加(P均<0.000 1)。预后分析发现,肿瘤组织中ICOS^+细胞、ICOS^+CD4^+及ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞浸润高的患者总生存期(overall survival,OS)更长,多因素分析证实上述指标是HCC的独立预后良好因素。结论:ICOS在HCC患者的肿瘤组织中高表达,且ICOS^+细胞、ICOS^+CD4^+及ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞是OS的独立预后良好因素,提示上述指标可作为新的HCC预后免疫标志物。

Identification of recombination hotspots and quantitative trait loci for recombination rate in layer chickens

Background: The frequency of recombination events varies across the genome and between individuals, which may be related to some genomic features. The objective of this study was to assess the frequency of recombination events and to identify QTL(quantitative trait loci) for recombination rate in two purebred layer chicken ***: A total of 1200 white-egg layers(WL) were genotyped with 580 K SNPs and 5108 brown-egg layers(BL)were genotyped with 42 K SNPs(single nucleotide polymorphisms). Recombination events were identified within half-sib families and both the number of recombination events and the recombination rate was calculated within each0.5 mb window of the genome. The 10% of windows with the highest recombination rate on each chromosome were considered to be recombination hotspots. A BayesB model was used separately for each line to identify genomic regions associated with the genome-wide number of recombination event per meiosis. Regions that explained more than 0.8% of genetic variance of recombination rate were considered to harbor ***: Heritability of recombination rate was estimated at 0.17 in WL and 0.16 in BL. On average, 11.3 and 23.2 recombination events were detected per individual across the genome in 1301 and 9292 meioses in the WL and BL,respectively. The estimated recombination rates differed significantly between the lines, which could be due to differences in inbreeding levels, and haplotype structures. Dams had about 5% to 20% higher recombination rates per meiosis than sires in both lines. Recombination rate per 0.5 mb window had a strong negative correlation with chromosome size and a strong positive correlation with GC content and with CpG island density across the genome in both lines. Different QTL for recombination rate were identified in the two lines. 通过线密度预测纱线直径的方法是目前最为认可的表述之一,正在广泛使用。这一表述采用1.1为通用比容,而非1.1g/cm^3的纱线密度,提出用另一种相关理论模型计算纱线直径,也提出了纱线细度和长丝直径间关系的理论。线密度表述中,采用了预定的固定比容,因此该方法仅限用于英支支数的棉纱;通用比容模型只可在纤维密度(ρfiber)与纱线密度(ρyarn)一致的情况下使用。有关长丝的理论,采用了预定的密度和线密度(D),直径预测被限用于芳纶长丝和黏胶人造丝中。以上提到的各种理论都可在进一步的研究中用于修正和完善现有理论,旨在减轻目前工作的局限性。因此目前已经对有关常用经验公式进行了修正,以根据纱线密度和支数预测纱线直径;在现有的线密度(D)和直径(μm)关系中,提出可不考虑任何密度和原料的因素。统计关系也经检验和报道,检验分析结果显示了便于正确应用的更细微的细节。
