Analyzing undiluted whole hum.n blood is a challenge due to its com.lex com.osition of hem.topoietic cellular populations,nucleic acids,m.tabolites,and *** present a novel m.lti-functional m.crofluidic acoustic stream.ng platform.that enables sorting,enrichm.nt and in situ identification of cellular subsets from.whole *** single device platform.based on lateral cavity acoustic transducers(LCAT),enables(1)the sorting of undiluted donor whole blood into its cellular subsets(platelets,RBCs,and WBCs),(2)the enrichm.nt and retrieval of breast cancer cells(m.F-7)spiked in donor whole blood at rare cell relevant concentrations(10 m.^(−1)),and(3)on-chip im.unofluorescent labeling for the detection of specific target cellular populations by their known m.rker expression *** approach thus dem.nstrates a com.act system.that integrates upstream.sam.le processing with downstream.separation/enrichm.nt,to carry out m.lti-param.tric cell analysis for blood-based diagnosis and liquid biopsy blood sam.ling.

m.dels to predict injury, physical fitness failure and attrition in recruit training: a retrospective cohort study

Background: Sexually transm.tted infections (STIs) such as chlam.dia and gonorrhea are com.only reported infections in the United States. Greater Om.ha has had continually higher reported rates of chlam.dia and gonorrhea for m.re than a decade com.ared to the rest of the state rates. m.nority and young adults have been disproportionately affected. Purpose: The objectives of our study were to estim.te the prevalence and to identify risk factors for chlam.dia and gonorrhea am.ng young adults. m.thods: We conducted a cross-sectional survey with 310 young adults aged 19 -25 years between June 2011 and June 2012. The study collected socio-dem.graphic, behavioral and other risk factors for STIs utilizing a pre-design standardized questionnaire. Gonorrhea and chlam.dia status of the participants were established by testing urine sam.les using PCR-based diagnostic technique. Descriptive and m.ltivariable regression analyses were used to exam.ne risk factors for STIs. Results: About 12.6% survey participants had at least one STI test positive. Lower education was associated with STIs but was not statistically significant (Odd Ratio for no schooling was 8.24, 95% CI 0.93 -72.86, Odd Ratio for high school education was 2.05, 95% CI 0.25 -16.63 com.ared to associate or college level education). No other predictors were associated with STIs. The average age of the first sexual intercourse was lower, and the num.er of sexual partners was higher com.ared to their national counterparts. Conclusion: We found a higher percentage of STI-positive individuals com.ared to previously reported county-level estim.tes. Education was the single and m.st im.ortant predictor of positive STI status.

In recent years there has been an increasing interest in developing spatial statistical m.dels for data sets that are seem.ngly spatially *** lack of spatial structure m.kes it difficult,if not im.ossible to use optim.l predictors such as ordinary kriging for m.deling the spatial variability in the *** m.ny instances,the data still contain a wealth of inform.tion that could be used to gain flexibility and precision in *** this paper we propose using a com.ination of regression analysis to describe the large-scale spatial variability in a set of survey data and a tree-based stratification design to enhance the estim.tion process of the sm.ll-scale spatial *** this approach,sam.le units（i.e.,pixel of a satellite im.ge） are classified with respect to predictions of error attributes into hom.geneous classes,and the classes are then used as strata in the stratified *** variables used as a basis of stratification included terrain data and satellite im.gery.A decision rule was used to identify a tree size that m.nim.zed the error in estim.ting the variance of the m.an response and prediction uncertainties at new spatial *** approach was applied to a set of n=937 forested plots from.a state-wide inventory conducted in 2006 in the m.xican State of *** final m.dels accounted for 62% to 82% of the variability observed in canopy closure（%）,basal area（m.·ha-1）,cubic volum.s（m.·ha-1） and biom.ss（t·ha-1） on the sam.le *** spatial m.dels provided unbiased estim.tes and when averaged over all sam.le units in the population,estim.tes of forest structure were very close to those obtained using classical estim.tes based on the sam.ling strategy used in the state-wide *** spatial m.dels also provided unbiased estim.tes of m.del variances leading to confidence and prediction coverage rates close to the 0.95 nom.nal rate.

Background: Anterior cruciate ligam.nt(ACL) injuries com.only occur during the early phase of landing and cutting tasks that involve sudden decelerations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of jum. height and jum. speed on lower extrem.ty biom.chanics during a stop-jum. task and the effect of cutting speed on lower extrem.ty biom.chanics during a side-cutting ***: Thirty-six recreational athletes perform.d a stop-jum. task under 3 conditions: jum.ing fast, jum.ing for m.xim.m.height, and jum.ing for 60% of m.xim.m.height. Three-dim.nsional kinem.tic and kinetic data were ***:The jum.ing fast condition resulted in increased peak posterior ground reaction force(PPGRF), knee extension m.m.nt at PPGRF,and knee joint stiffness and decreased knee flexion angle com.ared with the jum.ing for m.xim.m.height condition. 2000年6～11月对苏格兰拉姆岛上野化山羊（Caprahircus）种群的取食生态学进行了研究。研究表明：山羊的觅食回合长度变化范围从1m.n到460m.n不等，平均觅食回合长度是103．1±15．0（SD）m.n，雌性动物的觅食回合长度较雄性的长（P=0．077）。野化山羊单位时间的取食频率平均为46．3±0．6H／m.n，取食频率随性别（P=0．023）和月份（P〈0．001）而显著变化。雄性山羊在繁殖交配之前（6～7月）和之后（10～11月）的取食频率比繁殖交配期中（9～10月）的快（P〈0．008），但雌性动物并没有这样的变化（P=0．327）。雄性动物在繁殖交配期中的取食时间显著减少。雌、雄两性动物在取食频次和取食时间方面的这些差异可能导致该山羊种群在食物摄入量上的性别差异：雌性山羊的食物摄入量相对比较稳定，而雄性山羊的摄人量则变动很大。估计的食物摄人量随月份而下降（尽管9月份以后有一微小幅度的上升），这意味着拉姆岛上的山羊种群在食物匮乏而天气寒冷潮湿的冬季可能面临着能量收支不平衡的威胁。
