This paper reports on the installation and observations of a new solar telescope installed on 2014 October 7 at the kodaikanal Observatory. The telescope is a refractive type equipped with a tunable Lyot Hα filter. A CCD camera with size 2k ×2k acquires images of the Sun and has a pixel size of 1.21″ pixel^-1 and a full field-of-view of 41＇. The telescope is equipped with a guiding system which keeps the image of the Sun within a few pixels throughout the observations. The FWHM of the Lyot filter is 0.4A and the filter is motorized, capable of scanning the Hα line profile at a smaller step size of 0.01 A. Partial-disk imaging covering about 10＇ is also possible with the help of a relay lens kept in front of the CCD camera. In this paper, we report the detailed specifications of the telescope, filter unit, the installation, observations and the procedures we have followed to calibrate and align the data. We also present preliminary results with this new full-disk telescope.

Background and Aims: Psychometric hepatic encephalop-athy score(PHES)is used widely for diagnosis of minimal hepatic encephalopathy(MHE).This prospective study aimed to determine the utility of the inhibitory control test(ICT)for the diagnosis of ***,the efficacy of rifaximin and lactulose for reversal of MHE was ***:A total of 180 eligible cirrhotic patients underwent testing for *** PHES was ≤ ?5 and ICT lures were ≥ 14,MHE was *** 108 patients with MHE were randomized to three groups for treatment with either lactulose,rifaximin,or *** outcomes were measured at the end of 3 ***: The 108 patients with MHE diagnosed by PHES and/or ICT accounted for 60%.The diagnosis of MHE was made by both ICT and PHES positivity in 56 patients,by abnormal ICT and normal PHES in 37 patients,and by abnor-mal PHES and normal ICT in 15 *** diagnosis of MHE,ICT had sensitivity of 78.87%,specificity of 66.06%with 60.22%positive predictive value and 82.76%negative predictive *** area under the curve value of 0.724(95%CI: 0.653–0.788)was obtained for diagnosis of *** of MHE was seen in 71.42%,70.27%and 11.11%of patients in the rifaximin,lactulose and placebo arms(p < 0.001).Rifaximin showed better tolerability compared to ***: For the diagnosis of MHE,ICT is a simple tool but has lower sensitivity and better specificity than *** is as efficacious as lactulose in the treat-ment of MHE and better tolerated.

A novel algorithm for localising a robot in a known two-dimensional environment is presented in this paper. An occupancy grid representing the environment is first converted to a distance function that encodes the distance to the nearest obstacle from any given location. A Chamfer distance based sensor model to associate observations from a laser ranger finder to the map of the environment without the need for ray tracing, data association, or feature extraction is presented. It is shown that the robot can be localised by solving a non-linear optimisation problem formulated to minimise the Chamfer distance with respect to the robot location. The proposed algorithm is able to perform well even when robot odometry is unavailable and requires only a single tuning parameter to operate even in highly dynamic environments. As such, it is superior than the state-of-the-art particle filter based solutions for robot localisation in occupancy grids, provided that an approximate initial location of the robot is available. Experimental results based on simulated and public domain datasets as well as data collected by the authors are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Transparent and conducting Al-doped ZnO（ZnO：Al） films were prepared on glass substrate using the RF sputtering method at different substrate temperatures from room temperature（RT） to 200 ℃. The structural,morphological, electrical and optical properties of these films were investigated using a variety of characterization techniques such as low angle XRD, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）, field-emission scanning electron microscopy（FE-SEM）, Hall measurement and UV–visible spectroscopy. The electrical properties showed that films deposited at RT have the lowest resistivity and it increases with an increase in the substrate temperature whereas carrier mobility and concentration decrease with an increase in substrate temperature. Low angle XRD and Raman spectroscopy analysis reavealed that films are highly crystalline with a hexagonal wurtzite structure and a preferred orientation along the c-axis. The FE-SEM analysis showed that the surface morphology of films is strongly dependent on the substrate temperature. The band gap decreases from 3.36 to 3.29 e V as the substrate temperature is increased from RT to 200 ℃. The fundamental absorption edge in the UV region shifts towards a longer wavelength with an increase in substrate temperature and be attributed to the Burstein-Moss shift. The synthesized films showed an average transmission（〉 85%） in the visible region, which signifies that synthesized ZnO：Al films can be suitable for display devices and solar cells as transparent electrodes.

Revealing Genetic Relationship and Prospecting of Novel Donors Among Upland Rice Genotypes Using qDTY-Linked SSR Markers

A total of 17 simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers linked to QTLs(qDTYs) governing grain yield under reproductive stage(RS) drought stress were used to assess the genetic relationship and prospecting new donors for q DTYs among 32 popular upland rice genotypes. These SSR markers generated a total of 36 alleles with an average allele count of 2.1 per locus. Polymorphic information content value of the markers ranged from 0.376 to 0.662 with an average value of 0.484. The expected heterozyogosity ranged from 0.381 to 0.632. STRUCTURE analysis divided the 32 genotypes into three sub-populations. Subsequent phenotyping revealed that all the tolerant genotypes were grouped into one sub-population, whereas the moderately tolerant and susceptible genotypes were grouped into separate sub-populations. Phylogenetic tree constructed by the unweighted neighbour-joining method also divided the genotypes into three clusters. The grouping pattern of genotypes into the clusters was similar to that into the STRUCTURE analysis, on the basis of drought tolerance level. The average value of genetic dissimilarity coefficient among the genotypes was observed to be 0.486. Furthermore, by combining genotyping data with phenotyping data, 16 new donors for 6 qDTYs were identified.

The time-domain reflectometry technique was exercised to assess the complex permittivities of 1-chloropropane and ethanol along with their binary mixture in the frequency range of 10MHz–50 GHz and in the temperature range of 10–25℃.Dielectric parameters like static dielectric permittivity(ε_(0))and relaxation time(τ)have been acquired by the least-square-fit *** obtained assessments of static permittivity and relaxation time were used to compute various dielectric parameters like excess dielectric constant,excess relaxation time,kirkwood correlation factor and thermodynamic *** experimental outcome illustrates the nonlinear variations in dielectric permittivity,relaxation time and authenticates the structural formation due to intermolecular interaction between 1-chloropropane and *** rotary motion and dipole reorientation movements of these complex systems are presented in agreement with the molar entropy and enthalpy.

The life cycle analysis of biodiesel production from palm oil (PO) involves 3 stages: 1) Cultivation;2) Oil Extraction and 3) Transesterification of PO. There are several different approaches to the production process. The enzyme catalyzed process, was investigated and its environmental performance was compared with the conventional alkali-catalyzed process by using life cycle analysis (LCA). The enzyme catalyzed process is found to be technically a simpler production process and offers the production of less environmentally damaging wastes.
