“Water-in-salt”electrolytes with excellent electrochemical and physical properties have been extensively ***,the structural understanding of the lithium bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl)imide(LiTFSI)in water is still ***,we perform synchrotron X-ray scattering to systemically study the structural variation of TFSI anions in an aqueous solution under a variety of concentrations and *** are two different solvation structures in the solution:TFSI-solvated structure and *** the concentration increases,the TFSI-solvated structure gradually disappears while the TFSI-network gradually *** at relatively low concentrations,the TFSI-network can be *** experimental results show that these two structures can coexist at a particular concentration,and temperature changes will lead to one structure’s formation or ***,the TFSI-network is the key to obtain a stable electrochemical window under relatively high temperatures.

AIM To determine if there was a seasonal variation in adults undergoing total hip arthroplasty for end stage hip disease due to osteoarthritis(OA) or sequelae of developmental dysplasia of the hip(DDH).MeTHODS The total hip registry from the author's institution for the years 1969 to 2013 was reviewed. The month of birth,age,gender,and ethnicity was recorded. Differences between number of births observed and expected in the winter months(October through February) and non-winter mo(March through September) were analyzed with the χ2 test. Detailed temporal variation was mathematically assessed using cosinor *** There were 7792 OA patients and 60 DDH patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty. There were more births than expected in the winter months for both the DDH(P es demonstrated a peak date of birth on 1st October. CONCLUSION These data demonstrate an increased prevalence of DDH and OA in those patients born in winter.

Genetic mutations in the gene encoding DOCK8 cause an autosomal recessive form of hyper immunoglobulin e syndrome （AR-HIeS）, referred to as DOCK8 deficiency. DOCK8 deficiency in humans results in the onset of combined immunodeficiency disease （CID）, clinically associated with chronic infections with diverse microbial pathogens, and a predisposition to malignancy. It is now becoming clear that DOCK8 regulates the function of diverse immune cell sub-types, particularly lymphocytes, to drive both innate and adaptive immune responses. early studies demonstrated that DOCK8 is required for lymphocyte survival, migration and immune synapse formation, which translates to poor pathogen control in the absence of DOCK8. However, more recent advances have pointed to a crucial role for DOCK8 in regulating the signal transduction events that control transcriptional activity, cytokine production and functional polarization of immune cells. Here, we summarize recent advances in our understanding of DOCK8 function, paying particular attention to an emerging role as a signaling intermediate to promote immune responses to diverse external stimuli.

Risk of colon cancer in hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer patients as predicted by fuzzy modeling:Influence of smoking

AIM： To investigate whether a fuzzy logic model could predict colorectal cancer （CRC） risk engendered by smoking in hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer （HNPCC） patients. MeTHODS： Three hundred and forty HNPCC mismatch repair （MMR） mutation carriers from the Creighton University Hereditary Cancer Institute Registry were selected for modeling. Age-dependent curves were generated to elucidate the joint effects between gene mutation （hMLH1 or hMSH2）, gender, and smoking status on the probability of developing CRC. ReSULTS： Smoking significantly increased CRC risk in male hMSH2 mutation carriers （P 〈 0.05）. hMLH1 mutations augmented CRC risk relative to hMSH2 mutation carriers for males （P 〈 0.05）. Males had a significantly higher risk of CRC than females for hMLH1 non smokers （P 〈 0.05）, hMLH1 smokers （P 〈 0.1） and hMSH2 smokers （P 〈 0.1）. Smoking promoted CRC in a dose-dependent manner in hMSH2 in males （P 〈 0.05）. Females with hMSH2 mutations and both sexes with the hMLH1 groups only demonstrated a smoking effect after an extensive smoking history （P 〈 0.05）. CONCLUSION： CRC promotion by smoking in HNPCC patients is dependent on gene mutation, gender and age. These data demonstrate that fuzzy modeling may enable formulation of clinical risk scores, thereby allowing individualization of CRC prevention strategies.

AIM:To evaluate whether the ABO blood group is related to pancreatic cancer risk in the general population of the United ***:Using the University of Pittsburgh's clinicalpancreatic cancer registry,the blood donor database from our local blood bank (Central Blood Bank),and the blood product recipient database from the regional transfusion service (Centralized Transfusion Service) in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania,we identified 274 pancreatic cancer patients with previously determined serological ABO blood group *** ABO blood group frequency was compared between these patients and 708842 individual,community-based blood donors who had made donations to Pittsburgh's Central Blood Bank between 1979 and ***:The frequency of blood group A was statistically significantly higher amongst pancreatic cancer patients compared to its frequency amongst the regional blood donors [47.63% vs 39.10%,odds ratio (OR)=1.43,P=0.004].Conversely,the frequency of blood group O was significantly lower amongst pancreatic cancer patients relative to the community blood donors (32.12% vs 43.99%,OR=0.60,P=0.00007).There were limited blood group B (n=38) and AB (n=17) pancreatic cancer patients;the overall P trend value comparing patient to donor blood groups was ***:The ABO blood group is associated with pancreatic cancer *** studies should examine the mechanism linking pancreatic cancer risk to ABO blood group.

Data-driven materials design often encounters challenges where systems possess qualitative(categorical)***,representing Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)through different building blocks poses a challenge for designers to incorporate qualitative information into design optimization,and leads to a combinatorial challenge,with large number of MOFs that could be *** this work,we integrated Latent Variable Gaussian Process(LVGP)and Multi-Objective Batch-Bayesian Optimization(MOBBO)to identify top-performing MOFs adaptively,autonomously,and *** showcased that our method(i)requires no specific physical descriptors and only uses building blocks that construct the MOFs for global optimization through qualitative representations,(ii)is application and property independent,and(iii)provides an interpretable model of building blocks with physical *** searching only~1%of the design space,LVGP-MOBBO identified all MOFs on the Pareto front and 97%of the 50 top-performing designs for the CO_(2) working capacity and CO_(2)/N2 selectivity properties.
