Owing to its uncomplicated synthetic methodology and exorbitant market demand,malachite green is widely used in numerous industries,particularly as a fungicide in *** its intrinsic toxicity and potential long-term health impacts,deployable and cost-effective strategies must be developed for eliminating water-soluble malachite *** this study,chemically activated phosphogypsum,a byproduct of fertilizer production,was used to remove malachite green from an aqueous *** to its low cost and abundance,the use of phosphogypsum as a sorbent material may significantly reduce the cost of adsorption-based ***,its structural durability allows efficient recycling without significant deformation during ***,untreated phosphogypsum exhibits minimal efficiency in adsorbing synthetic dyes due to its unfavorable surface *** investigation revealed that Zn activation induced a noticeable increase in pore volume from 0.03 to 0.06 cm3·g^(-1).A 60 mg·L^(-1) sorbent dose,pH 7,150 r·min^(-1),and operational temperature of 30°c produced 99%quantitative sorption *** surface methodology and artificial neural network were used to optimize process parameters by validating experimental *** detectable toxicity was observed in Escherichia coli when exposed to the treated water.

Kinetics study of metaxalone degradation under hydrolytic, oxidative and thermal stress conditions using stability-indicating HPLc method

An isocratic stability indicating RP-HPLc-UV method is presented for the determina- tion of metaxalone （MET） in the presence of its degradation products. The method uses Dr. Maisch c18 column （250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5μm） with mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile-potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate buffer with 4 mL of 0.4% triethyl amine （pH 3.0; 10 mM）（58：42, v/v） at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, pH of the buffer was adjusted with o-phosphoric acid. UV detection was performed at 225 nm. The method was validated for specificity, linearity, precision, accuracy, limit of detection, limit of quantification and robustness. The calibration plot was linear over the concentration range of 1-100 μg/mL having a correlation coefficient （r2） of 0.999. Limits of detection and quantification were 0.3 and 1μg/mL, respectively. Intra-day and inter-day precision （% RSD） was 0.65 and 0.79 respectively. The proposed method was used to investigate the degradation kinetics of MET under different stress conditions employed. Degradation of MET followed a pseudo-first-order kinetics, and rate constant （K）, time left for 50% potency （t1/2）, and time left for 90% potency 090） were calculated.

Effect of copper Doping on Structural, Dielectric and Dc Electrical Resistivity Properties of BaTiO<sub>3</sub>

The modified BaTiO3 ferroelectric materials are suitable for pyroelectric applications. This paper reports the structural, dielectric and electrical properties on copper influence in BaTiO3 when it was substituted site “A” of perovskite structure of BaTiO3. copper has been chosen for modified BaTiO3 with different concentrations with stoichiometry Ba1-xcuxTiO3, where x = 0.01%, 0.02%, 0.03% and 0.04%. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the samples doped with different composition of cuO are found to be that the positions and intensities of the diffraction peaks are similar and no secondary phases were observed. The curie’s temperature (Tc) for all cuO doped BaTiO3 with were found to be in the range of 120°c to 125°c. The frequency dependence of relative permittivity (εr) and dielectric loss (Tanδ) of Ba1-xcuxTiO3 samples at room temperature were reported in the range 100 KHz - 1 MHz. The temperature dependence of D.c electrical resistivity studies were reported for all samples indicating that the participation of cu2+-cu+ ions in the conduction process around their curie’s temperature.

The advance of the Internet in the past decade has radically changed the way people communicate and col- laborate with each other. Physical distance is no more a barrier in online social networks, but cultural differences （at the individual, community, as well as societal levels） still govern human-human interactions and must be con- sidered and leveraged in the online world. The rapid deployment of high-speed lnternet allows humans to interact using a rich set of multimedia data such as texts, pictures, and videos. This position paper proposes to define a new research area called ＇connected multimedia＇, which is the study of a collection of research issues of the super-area social media that receive little attention in the literature. By connected multimedia, we mean the study of the social and technical interactions among users, multimedia data, and devices across cultures and explicitly exploiting the cultural differences. We justify why it is necessary to bring attention to this new research area and what benefits of this new research area may bring to the broader scientific research community and the humanity.

New-onset diabetes mellitus after kidney transplantation:current status and future directions

A diagnosis of new-onset diabetes after transplantation(NODAT) carries with it a threat to the renal allograft,as well as the same short-and long-term implications of type 2 diabetes seen in the general *** usually occurs early after transplantation,and is usually diagnosed according to general population ***-modifiable risk factors for NODAT include advancing age,African American,Hispanic,or South Asian ethnicity,genetic background,a positive family history for diabetes mellitus,polycystic kidney disease,and previously diagnosed glucose *** risk factors for NODAT include obesity and the metabolic syndrome,hepatitis c virus and cytomegalovirus infection,corticosteroids,calcineurin inhibitor drugs(especially tacrolimus),and *** affects graft and patient survival,and increases the incidence of post-transplant cardiovascular *** incidence and impact of NODAT can be minimized through pre-and post-transplant screening to identify patients at higher risk,including by oral glucose tolerance tests,as well as multi-disciplinary care,lifestyle modification,and the use of modified immunosuppressive regimens coupled with glucose-lowering therapies including oral hypoglycemic agents and *** NODAT is a major cause of post-transplant morbidity and mortality,measures to reduce its incidence and impact have the potential to greatly improve overall transplant success.

The rice leaf folder （RLF）, cnaphalocrocis medinalis （Guenee）（lnsecta： Lepidoptera： Pyralidae）, is an important pest, widely distributed in many rice growing areas of Asia. The over-use of broad-spectrum chemical insecticides has been cited as a major cause of outbreaks of c. medinalis as excessive spraying of insecticide disrupts natural biological control insecticides still remain the major control tactics against leaf folder. carbofuran and fenthion, bendiocarb, acephate, carbosulfan, quinolphos, monocrotophos, phosphamidon and fenvalerate are the common ones used against rice leaf folder. Genetically, modified rice lines expressing B. thuringiensis insecticidal crystal proteins produced are highly tolerant to leidopteran pests. Though economic and environmental benefits of GM crops is well established, the matter of concern is the possibility of target insect pest developing resistance to this B. thuringiensis insecticidal toxins, evident from many laboratory and field experiments against many insect pests. The involvement of GSH S-transferase, carboxylesterase, and microsomal monooxygenase in insecticide resistance has been reported in insecticide-resistant strains of many insect species. Hence, the present study was taken up to monitor for cross resistance between B. thuringiensis cry toxins and synthetic insecticides in larvae of leaf folder as it is mediated by carboxylesterase titre and other enzymes by bioassay for two selected rice leaf folder field populations at the Entomology division of Directorate of Rice Research which showed 2-fold resistance ratio. Qualitative and quantitative changes of carboxylesterase （carE） and glutathione-s-transferase （GST＇s） were worked out with midguts extracts of the two c. medinalis populations in the presence of a-napthyl acetate and chlorodi-nitro benzene substrates.

Endoscopic closure of a gastrocolic fistula using the over-the-scope-clip-system

Gastrointestinal (GI) defects such as fistulas and leaks can be potentially closed endoscopically using hemo-clips and loops. However, hemoclips may not allow for closure of large defects and they do not exert enough tensile force to keep fibrotic defects larger than 5 mm approximated. Herein we present a case of successful endoscopic closure of a gastrocolic fistula in a severely malnourished patient with complex post-surgical upper GI anatomy. We strongly believe that this device is a major breakthrough for the management of various types of discontinuity defects or fistulas. In addition, we show the usefulness of placing a direct jejunostomy using the double balloon enteroscopy (DBE) technique during the same procedure. The concept of providing direct jejunal feedings while allowing for upper gas-trointestinal bowel rest to promote the healing of the minimally invasive endoscopic operation is novel. Thus, our case is unique and exemplifies the utility of mini-mally invasive endoscopic endoluminal surgery.

Epidemiology of electrical burns and its impact on quality of life-the developing world scenario
