Influence of B4C and ZrB2 reinforcements on microstructural,mechanical and wear behaviour of AA 2014 aluminium matrix hybrid composites

Considering their affordability and high strength-to-weight ratio,lightweight aluminium alloys are the subject of intensive research aimed at improving their properties for use in the aerospace *** research effort aims to develop novel hybrid composites based on AA 2014 alloy through the use of liquid metallurgy stir casting to reinforce dual ceramic particles of Zirconium Diboride(ZrB_(2))and Boron Carbide(B4C).The weight percentage(wt%)of ZrB_(2) was varied(0,5,10,and 15),while a constant 5 wt%of B4C was maintained during this *** as-cast samples have been assessed using an Optical Microscope(OM)and a Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM)with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy(EDS).The properties such as hardness,tensile strength,and wear characteristics of stir cast specimens were assessed to examine the impact of varying weight percentages of reinforcements in AA 2014 *** particular,dry sliding wear behaviour was evaluated considering varied loads using a pin-on-disc *** the weight%of ZrB_(2) grew and B4C was incorporated,hybrid composites showed higher hardness,tensile strength,and wear ***,the incorporation of a cumulative reinforcement consisting of 15 wt%ZrB_(2) and 5 wt%B4C resulted in a significant 31.86%increase in hardness and a 44.1%increase in tensile strength compared to AA 2014 *** addition,it has been detected that wear resistance of hybrid composite pin(containing 20 wt%cumulative reinforcement)is higher than that of other stir cast wear test pins during the whole range of applied *** surfaces of tensile specimens showed ductile fracture in the AA 2014 matrix and mixed mode for hybrid *** surfaces obtained employing higher applied load indicated abrasive wear with little plastic deformation for hybrid composites and dominant adhesive wear for matrix ***,the superior mechanical and tribological performance of hybrid composites can be attributed to dual reinforcement pa

Influence of Na_(2)SiO_(3)/NaOH Ratio on Calcined Magnesium Silicate Based Geopolymer——Experimental and Predictive Study

This study aims to investigate the behavior of alkali activated mortar,which is made of naturally available magnesium silicate as source *** magnesium silicate,ultrafine natural steatite powder(UFNSP)is used as the primary source of binder,and the activation is initiated through the alkali liquid which is proportioned in various combinations of silicate to hydroxide ratio(Na_(2)SiO_(3)/Na OH)ratio,and this ratio in this study varies from 1 to *** UFNSP is calcined at two difierent temperatures,700 and 1000℃.The mortar mix is proportioned as 1:3 between powder and the fine aggregate,and the mortar is prepared with hydroxide molarity(M)of 10 *** mortar is cured for 48 hours at 60℃and the compressive strength was *** the mix were studied for its microstructural behavior along with compressive *** mix proportion of the mortar,and the results obtained through microstructural characterization were combinedly formed as input for artificial neural network(ANN)predictive *** model is designed to predict the compressive strength,which is trained through Bayesian regularization algorithm with varying hidden neurons of 7 to *** experimental and predictive study shows that the strength is influenced by both Na_(2)SiO_(3)/Na OH ratio and calcination *** the ANN is influenced by mainly calcination temperature and uncorrelation occurs in selected samples of 1000℃calcined UFNSP mix.

Effect of Phase Shifted Frequency Modulation on Two Level Atom-Field Interaction

We have studied the effect of phase shifted frequency modulation on two level atom with field interaction using Jaynes-Cummings *** the frequency of the interacting field is sinusoidally varying with time with a constant *** to the presence of phase in the frequency modulation,the variation of population inversion with time is different from the standard *** are no exact collapses and revivals in the variation of population inversion but it oscillates sinusoidally with *** coherent field atom interaction the population inversion behaves as in the case of Fock state atom interaction,when frequency modulation with a non zero phase is *** study done with squeezed field has shown the same behavior of the population inversion.

Photon condensation： A new paradigm for Bose-Einstein condensation

Bose-Einstein condensation is a state of matter known to be responsible for peculiar properties exhibited by superfluid Helium-4 and superconductors. Bose-Einstein condensate （BEC） in its pure form is realizable with alkali atoms under ultra-cold temperatures. In this paper, we review the experimental scheme that demonstrates the atomic Bose-Einstein condensate. We also elaborate on the theoretical framework for atomic Bose-Einstein condensation, which includes statistical mechan- ics and the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. As an extension, we discuss Bose-Einstein condensation of photons realized in a fluorescent dye filled optical microcavity. We analyze this phenomenon based on the generalized Planck＇s law in statistical mechanics. Further, a comparison is made between photon condensateand laser. We describe how photon condensate may be a possible alternative for lasers since it does not require an energy consuming population inversion process.

Temporary storage/shipping of cell/tissue engineering products from bench to bedside is a key aspect of re-generative *** current proof-of-concept study presents a multipurpose device for temporary storage/shipping of cell culture dishes containing cell/tissue *** device,made with readily available raw ma-terials,contains three elements viz.a specialized lid,polymeric plates having grooves and a set of nuts and *** part of the performance evaluation,the device was first subjected to a simulated storage/shipping process,wherein the leak-proof and aseptic containment of the contents was ***,the setup was used for temporary storage/shipping of dishes having(a)L929 cell monolayers cultured on treated surfaces,(b)SIRC,HaCaT and A549 cell sheets cultured on thermo-responsive surfaces,(c)HOS-cell encapsulated agar gels and(d)HOS-cell seeded silk fibroin *** results showed that the health of cell monolayers/cell sheets/tissue constructs after the process was comparable to that before the *** device was scalable,simple to handle,can be made for a single or multi-use purpose,and can be resizable to load other culture *** design of the storage/shipping device described in this report thus offers versatile features and applications.

Pb–Pb baddeleyite ages of mafic dyke swarms from the Dharwar Craton:Implications for Paleoproterozoic LIPs and diamond potential of mantle keel

The Dharwar Craton in Peninsular India was intruded by a series of mafic dykes during the Paleoproterozoic and these mafic magmatic events have important implications on continental rifting and *** we report ten precise Pb-Pb TE-TIMS age determinations on baddeleyite grains separated from seven mafic dykes and three sills,intruding into Archean basement rocks and Proterozoic sedimentary formations of the Eastern Dharwar Craton *** crystallization age of the baddeleyite shows 2366.3±1.1 Ma,and 2369.2±0.8 Ma for the NE-SW trending dykes,2368.1±0.6 Ma,2366.4±0.8 Ma,2207.2±0.7 Ma and 1887.3±1.0 Ma for the ENE-WNW to E-W striking dykes,1880.6±1.0 Ma,1864.3±0.6 Ma and 1863.6±0.9 Ma for Cuddapah sills,and 1861.8±1.4 Ma for the N-S trending *** results in conjunction with those from previous studies identify eight distinct stages of widespread Paleoproterozoic magmatism in the Dharwar *** mantle plume centres of the four radiating dyke swarms with ages of^2367 Ma,~2210 Ma,~2082 Ma,and^1886 Ma were traced to establish their proximity to the EDC kimberlite *** the^2367 Ma and^1886 Ma plume centres are inferred to be located to the west and east of the present day Dharwar craton respectively away from the kimberlite province,location of plume heads of the other two swarms with ages of^2207 Ma and^2082 Ma are in close *** spite of the ubiquitous occurrence of dyke intrusions of all the seven generations in the kimberlite province,only few of these kimberlites are *** occurrences elsewhere in the vicinity of older Large Igneous Provinces(LIPs)like the Mackenzie,Karoo,Parana-Etendeka and Yakutsk-Vilui are also *** has been attributed to the destruction of the lithospheric mantle keel(that hosts the diamonds)by the respective mantle *** diamondiferous nature of the EDC kimberlites therefore suggests that plume activity does not always result in the destruction of the mantle keel.

AIM: To estimate the frequency of microdeletions in the long arm of Y-chromosome of 20 infertile males from South India. METHODS: Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification using Y-specific STS of azoospermia factor (AZF) regions i.e., SY 84 for AZFa, SY 127 for AZFb and SY 254 for AZFc. RESULTS: Of the 20 infertile subjects 3 (15 %), one azoospermic and two oligozoospermic, showed microdeletions in the AZF region of Y-chromosome. CONCLUSION: The frequency of deletions involving AZF region of the Y-chromosome is 15 % in azoospermic and severely oligozoospermic infertile men. PCR amplification of AZF locus is useful for the diagnosis of microdeletions in the Y-chromosome.

This paper embraces the key points of unpolluted internally combusted engine *** objective is focused on the recent effort to improve compression ignition(CI)and spark ignition(SI)engine to have fuel⁃efficient and minimized pollutant *** are many advanced internal combustion engines to overcome the challenges of conventional compression ignition engines of the high level of particulate matter(PM)and oxides of nitrogen *** of the latest options on which many researchers work recently is low⁃temperature combustion which studies the engine advancement and emission at the same *** review focuses on the released emissions,incinerations and performances features of partially premixed charge ignition with different fuel blends like n⁃butanol⁃gasoline,gasoline⁃diesel,alcohol⁃diesel,and NG⁃diesel effect on partially premixed charge ignition(PPCI)engine ***,PPCI is a single or a dual fuel strategy in that a pre⁃mixed low or high reactive fuel(L/HRF)is directly injected into the *** is one of the best low⁃temperature combustion(LTC)strategies by which emissions are minimized while thermal efficiency is *** recent PPCI of various fuels and their effect are ***,the initial pilot injection can extend the operating load that is a problem in diesel engine;gasoline fuel displayed fewer soot releases when compared with diesel oil in all working *** additional inspiring outcome for this combustion approach can be directly controlled by using the start of injection timing(SOI),which is impossible with most other LTC *** diesel PPCI can overcome the NOx⁃PM tradeoff but needs more EGR *** problem of diesel engine PPCI is associated with its comparatively higher boiling point and relatively lower volatility,which made use of advanced injection with a great number of fuel ***,diesel fuel is not the best candidate with the LRF to the PPCI engine setup.

Clinical and epidemiological features of pelvic fractures presenting to the emergency department in a tertiary health care hospital in south India:A retrospective study

Objective:To determine the clinical and epidemiological features of pelvic fracture patients presenting to the Emergency ***:This prospective observational study was conducted in a tertiary care center in south *** of injury,types of pelvic fractures,the associated injuries,and outcome at the time of discharge were ***:A total of 140 patients were included in this *** patients were classified as type A(n=62),followed by type B(n=48)and type C(n=30).A total of 112 patients were injured due to road traffic accidents,followed by a fall from a height(n=23)and a fall from a heavy object(n=5).Most subjects had facial injuries(n=99,70.7%),followed by head injuries(n=51,36.4%).Five percent of the patients were expired,12%left against medical advice,and 83%were ***:The incidence of pelvic fractures presenting to the Emergency Department is relatively high in *** traffic accidents are the primary cause of pelvic fractures and associated facial and head *** outcomes demonstrate the need for improved prevention strategies and comprehensive management protocols to reduce mortality.
