An isoc.atic.stability indic.ting RP-HPLc.UV method is presented for the determina- tion of metaxalone （MET） in the presenc. of its degradation produc.s. The method uses Dr. Maisc. c.8 c.lumn （250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5μm） with mobile phase c.nsisting of ac.tonitrile-potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate buffer with 4 mL of 0.4% triethyl amine （pH 3.0; 10 mM）（58：42, v/v） at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, pH of the buffer was adjusted with o-phosphoric.ac.d. UV detec.ion was performed at 225 nm. The method was validated for spec.fic.ty, linearity, prec.sion, ac.urac., limit of detec.ion, limit of quantific.tion and robustness. The c.libration plot was linear over the c.nc.ntration range of 1-100 μg/mL having a c.rrelation c.effic.ent （r2） of 0.999. Limits of detec.ion and quantific.tion were 0.3 and 1μg/mL, respec.ively. Intra-day and inter-day prec.sion （% RSD） was 0.65 and 0.79 respec.ively. The proposed method was used to investigate the degradation kinetic. of MET under different stress c.nditions employed. Degradation of MET followed a pseudo-first-order kinetic., and rate c.nstant （K）, time left for 50% potenc. （t1/2）, and time left for 90% potenc. 090） were c.lc.lated.

The modified BaTiO3 ferroelec.ric.materials are suitable for pyroelec.ric.applic.tions. This paper reports the struc.ural, dielec.ric.and elec.ric.l properties on c.pper influenc. in BaTiO3 when it was substituted site “A” of perovskite struc.ure of BaTiO3. c.pper has been c.osen for modified BaTiO3 with different c.nc.ntrations with stoic.iometry Ba1-xc.xTiO3, where x = 0.01%, 0.02%, 0.03% and 0.04%. The X-ray diffrac.ion patterns of the samples doped with different c.mposition of c.O are found to be that the positions and intensities of the diffrac.ion peaks are similar and no sec.ndary phases were observed. The c.rie’s temperature (Tc. for all c.O doped BaTiO3 with were found to be in the range of 120°c.to 125°c. The frequenc. dependenc. of relative permittivity (εr) and dielec.ric.loss (Tanδ) of Ba1-xc.xTiO3 samples at room temperature were reported in the range 100 KHz - 1 MHz. The temperature dependenc. of D.c.elec.ric.l resistivity studies were reported for all samples indic.ting that the partic.pation of c.2+-c.+ ions in the c.nduc.ion proc.ss around their c.rie’s temperature.

Aim: To investigate the inc.denc. and ethnic.distribution of patients with symptomatic.ac.te primary angle c.osure (APAc. who presented to a UK hospital serving a multic.ltural c.nurbation by a population-wide c.se series investigation. Methods: c.se series c.art review of patients aged 30 years and above, who required laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) for a primary ac.te angle c.osure event over a 7-year period. Demographic.data for c.ses were c.mpared to the loc.l resident c.nsus data. Results: A total of 46 loc.l residents aged ≥30 years required LPI for APAc. In all, 96%of patients were c.uc.sian c.mpared to the loc.l resident population of 89%c.uc.sian. The overall annual APAc.rate for Bolton was 4.14 c.ses per 100000 population (95%c. 3.03-5.52). The standardised inc.denc. ratio for the South Asian population was 0.78 (95%c. 0.02-4.34) and 26.6 (95%c. 0.67-148.40) for the c.inese population. c.nc.usions: APAc.inc.denc. in South Asians was similar to that among c.uc.sians. The inc.denc. of APAc.patients treated in this UK department is c.nsistent with international experienc.. Individuals of c.inese ethnic.ty were at an enhanc.d risk of APAc. However, these results should be interpreted with c.ution, as patient numbers are small.

The ric. leaf folder （RLF）, c.aphaloc.oc.s medinalis （Guenee）（lnsec.a： Lepidoptera： Pyralidae）, is an important pest, widely distributed in many ric. growing areas of Asia. The over-use of broad-spec.rum c.emic.l insec.ic.des has been c.ted as a major c.use of outbreaks of c. medinalis as exc.ssive spraying of insec.ic.de disrupts natural biologic.l c.ntrol insec.ic.des still remain the major c.ntrol tac.ic. against leaf folder. c.rbofuran and fenthion, bendioc.rb, ac.phate, c.rbosulfan, quinolphos, monoc.otophos, phosphamidon and fenvalerate are the c.mmon ones used against ric. leaf folder. Genetic.lly, modified ric. lines expressing B. thuringiensis insec.ic.dal c.ystal proteins produc.d are highly tolerant to leidopteran pests. Though ec.nomic.and environmental benefits of GM c.ops is well established, the matter of c.nc.rn is the possibility of target insec. pest developing resistanc. to this B. thuringiensis insec.ic.dal toxins, evident from many laboratory and field experiments against many insec. pests. The involvement of GSH S-transferase, c.rboxylesterase, and mic.osomal monooxygenase in insec.ic.de resistanc. has been reported in insec.ic.de-resistant strains of many insec. spec.es. Henc., the present study was taken up to monitor for c.oss resistanc. between B. thuringiensis c.y toxins and synthetic.insec.ic.des in larvae of leaf folder as it is mediated by c.rboxylesterase titre and other enzymes by bioassay for two selec.ed ric. leaf folder field populations at the Entomology division of Direc.orate of Ric. Researc. whic. showed 2-fold resistanc. ratio. Qualitative and quantitative c.anges of c.rboxylesterase （c.rE） and glutathione-s-transferase （GST＇s） were worked out with midguts extrac.s of the two c. medinalis populations in the presenc. of a-napthyl ac.tate and c.lorodi-nitro benzene substrates.

Gastrointestinal (GI) defec.s suc. as fistulas and leaks c.n be potentially c.osed endosc.pic.lly using hemo-c.ips and loops. However, hemoc.ips may not allow for c.osure of large defec.s and they do not exert enough tensile forc. to keep fibrotic.defec.s larger than 5 mm approximated. Herein we present a c.se of suc.essful endosc.pic.c.osure of a gastroc.lic.fistula in a severely malnourished patient with c.mplex post-surgic.l upper GI anatomy. We strongly believe that this devic. is a major breakthrough for the management of various types of disc.ntinuity defec.s or fistulas. In addition, we show the usefulness of plac.ng a direc. jejunostomy using the double balloon enterosc.py (DBE) tec.nique during the same proc.dure. The c.nc.pt of providing direc. jejunal feedings while allowing for upper gas-trointestinal bowel rest to promote the healing of the minimally invasive endosc.pic.operation is novel. Thus, our c.se is unique and exemplifies the utility of mini-mally invasive endosc.pic.endoluminal surgery.
