The hepatotoxic effect of potassium bromide(KBr)on rat liver tissues were determined,as well as the potential protective effect of Tegillaraca granosa(***)flesh body *** adult male albino rats were equally distributed into four groups;Group(I)treated with physiological saline(control group),Group(II)was orally gavaged by 200 mg/kg of *** body extract day after day,Group(III)was intoxicated by KBr(150 mg/kg bwt day after day orally)and finally,Group(IV)was given a combination of *** flesh body extract plus KBr with similar doses in the second and third *** the end of one month,blood,liver tissue and bone marrow samples were collected to be used for the required laboratory *** response to KBr toxicity,there was a significant increase in serum antioxidant biomarkers,which was accompanied by a significant change in hepatocyte ultrastructure and a significant change in carbohydrate and protein levels within the liver *** addition,KBr intoxication resulted in a substantial increase in the incidence of chromosomal aberrations such as holes,splits,deletions,fragments,ploidy,and ring chromosomes,as well as significant upregulation of TGF-1,VEGF,and COX-2 gene *** hepatotoxic effect of KBr was counteracted by treatment with *** flesh body *** flesh body extract has a curative antioxidant and numerous protective effects against KBr hepatotoxicity.

ZrO_2 was treated with 10% SO_4^(2-) from different metal sulfate precursors for methanol dehydration to dimethyl *** the samples exhibited tetragonal phase and no diffraction peaks corresponding to metal sulfates or metal oxides were *** FT-IR results revealed that there were different interactions between sulfate and ZrO_2,and this had a great effect on the surface area of the *** catalytic activity was measured over the catalysts in the temperature range of 100-300 ℃.The results revealed that sulfated zirconia with CuSO_4·5 h_2O and Al_2(SO_4)_3·16 h_2O showed the best catalytic *** maximum yield of DME ≈87% was obtained over CuSZ at a reaction temperature of 275 ℃.Moreover,the catalytic activity of the catalysts was correlated well with their surface acidity that measured by dehydration of isopropanol.

Background:The increasing occurrence of diabetes mellitus(DM)noted worldwide has considerably elicited concern in the recent *** is associated with elevated vascular complications,morbidity,mortality,and poor quality of *** this context,mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have shown significant therapeutic potentialities in managing and curing type 1 DM owing to their self-renewable,immunosuppressive,and differentiation *** investigated the potential action of N,N′-diphenyl-1,4-phenylenediamine(DPPD),a well-known synthetic antioxidant to enhance the therapeutic ability of the adipose-derived stem cells(AD-MSCs)in alleviating kidney and liver complications in diabetic ***:Over the four weeks of experiments,albino male rats(n=36)were split into six test groups:control,DPPD(250 mg/kg,i.p.),STZ-diabetic(D),D+DPPD,D+AD-MSCs(1×10^(6)cell/rat,i.v.),and D+AD-MSCs+DPPD treated ***:Significant declines in the renal and hepatic oxidative stress markers(MDA,ROS,and AGEs)were observed coupled with a significant elevation in many antioxidant marker levels(GSh,SOD,CAT,GPx,hO-1,and TAC)in the diabetic rats treated with either DPPD or AD-MSCs or their co-administered injection compared to the diabetic untreated *** was suggested to be the leading cause of amelioration of the kidney functions(as measured by urea,uric acid,and creatine levels)and liver functions(as evidenced by the levels of AST,ALT,ALP,bilirubin,total proteins,albumin,and globulins).Conclusion:DPPD and AD-MSCs co-administration showed superior results in terms of the enhancement of the relative hepato-renal function,indicating the beneficial role of DPPD supplementation in increasing the therapeutic potential of AD-MSCs.

The effect of carbon black （CB） and graphite （G） powders on the macroscopic and nano-scale free volume properties of silicone rubber based on poly（di-methylsiloxane）（PDMS） was studied through thermal and cyclic mechanical measurements, as well as with positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy （PALS）. The melting temperature of the composites （Tm） and the endothermic enthalpy of melting （Δhm） were estimated by differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）. Tm and the degree of crystallinity （χc） of PDMS composites were found to decrease with increasing the CB content. This can be explained due to the increase in physical cross-linking which results in a decrease in the crystallite thickness. Besides, χc was found to be dependent on the filler type. Cyclic stress-strain behavior of PDMS loaded with different contents of filler has been studied. Mullins ratio （RM） was found to be dependent on the filler type and content. It was found that, RM increases with increasing the filler content due to the increase in physical cross-linking which results in a decrease in the size of free volume, as observed through a decrease of the o-Ps lifetime τ3 measured by PALS. Moreover, the hysteresis in PDMS-CB composites was more pronounced than in PDMS-G composites. Furthermore, a correlation was established between the free volume Vf and the mechanical properties of PDMS composites containing different fillers. A negative correlation was observed between Vf and RM.

Biometric security is a growing trend,as it supports the authentication of persons using conﬁdential biometric *** of the transmitted data in multi-media systems are susceptible to attacks,which affect the security of these *** systems provide sufﬁcient protection and privacy for *** recently-introduced cancellable biometric recognition systems have not been investigated in the presence of different types of *** addition,they have not been studied on different and large biometric *** point that deserves consideration is the hardware implementation of cancellable biometric recognition *** paper presents a suggested hybrid cancellable biometric recognition system based on a 3D chaotic *** rationale behind the utilization of the 3D chaotic cryptosystem is to guarantee strong encryption of biometric templates,and hence enhance the security and privacy of *** suggested cryptosystem adds signiﬁcant permutation and diffusion to the encrypted biometric *** introduce some sort of attack analysis in this paper to prove the robustness of the proposed cryptosystem against *** addition,a Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)implementation of the pro-posed system is *** obtained results with the proposed cryptosystem are compared with those of the traditional encryption schemes,such as Double Random Phase Encoding(DRPE)to reveal superiority,and hence high recogni-tion performance of the proposed cancellable biometric recognition *** obtained results prove that the proposed cryptosystem enhances the security and leads to better efﬁciency of the cancellable biometric recognition system in the presence of different types of attacks.

Physical Studies of Some hydrazinobenzoic Acid Complexes

The stability constants of complexes of 2-hydrazinobenzoic acid and 4-hydrazinobenzoic acid with Ni (Ⅱ), Cu (Ⅱ), Zn (Ⅱ), Cd (Ⅱ), and hg (Ⅱ) were determined potentiometricaIly at different temperatures. The thermodynamic parameters, △G0, △h0, and △S0 were calculated and proved that the complexation process is spontaneous and endothermic. The thermodynamic functions were analyzed in terms of electrostatic and non-electrostatic components and the results reveal that ionic bonds are formed between the studied ligands and metal ions. Conductometric titration was shown that the stoichiometry of the formed complexes are M:L and M:2L. The structure of the prepared solid complexes was characterized using IR, 1h NMR, 13C NMR spectroscopies as well as X-ray diffraction technique. Finally electrical conductivity of the ligands and their copper complexes was measured and shown that the ligands have a semiconductor behaviour.

BACKGROUND Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging has shown promise in the detection and quantification of hepatic fibrosis. In addition, the liver has numerous endogenous micro-RNAs(miRs) that play important roles in the regulation of biological processes such as cell proliferation and hepatic *** To assess diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging and miRs in diagnosing and staging hepatic fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis *** This prospective study included 208 patients and 82 age-and sex-matched controls who underwent diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging of the abdomen, miR profiling, and liver biopsy. Pathological scoring was classified according to the METAVIR scoring system. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and miR were calculated and correlated with pathological *** The ADC value decreased significantly with the progression of fibrosis, from controls(F0) to patients with early fibrosis(F1 and F2) to those with late fibrosis(F3 and F4)(median 1.92, 1.53, and 1.25 × 10^(-3) mm^2/s, respectively)(P = 0.001).The cut-off ADC value used to differentiate patients from controls was 1.83 × 10^(-3) mm^2/s with an area under the curve(AUC) of 0.992. Combining ADC and miR-200 b revealed the highest AUC(0.995) for differentiating patients from controls with an accuracy of 96.9%. The cut-off ADC used to differentiate early fibrosis from late fibrosis was 1.54 × 10^(-3) mm^2/s with an AUC of 0.866. The combination of ADC and miR-200 b revealed the best AUC(0.925) for differentiating early fibrosis from late fibrosis with an accuracy of 80.2%. The ADC correlated with miR-200 b(r =-0.61, P = 0.001), miR-21(r =-0.62, P = 0.001), and miR-29(r = 0.52,P = 0.001).CONCLUSION Combining ADC and miRs offers an alternative surrogate non-invasive diagnostic tool for diagnosing and staging hepatic fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis C.

A new chaotic image encryption scheme based on permutation and substitution in the Fourier domain is *** Fourier Transform(FRFT)is used before the encryption scheme to get a large degree of *** permutation is achieved by Baker map and the substitution by a key-related-to-plain-image algorithm based on the modified Logistic *** of the Logistic map is developed to increase the space of the encryption key,and hence increase the *** key of the encryption algorithm dependents on the plain image,and thus,the cipher image is sensitive to both the initial key and the plain image to resist known-plaintext and chosen plaintext *** key space is large and hence the algorithm can effectively resist brute-force *** proposed scheme is examined using different performance evaluation metrics and the results prove that the proposed scheme is highly secure,and it can effectively resist different attacks.
