rong>Background:rong> Diabetes increases periodontal disease risk and its complications, which are worsened with age or faulty restorations. rong>Aim:rong> Evaluate periodontal health among patients with diabetes treated with different dental restorations. rong>Materials and Methods:rong> This comparative cross-sectional study was conducted at the faculty of dentistry, Najran University, KSA, from March 2018 to February 2020. It included 260 diabetics, treated with different dental restorations, divided into four groups, each comprising 65 patients aged 45 - 60 years: Group 1 (G1), no restorations (control group);Group 2 (G2), Class II amalgam restorations;Group 3 (G3), Class II composite resin restorations;and Group 4 (G4), three-unit posterior metal ceramic prostheses. The Ages of all restorations ranged from 8 to 10 years. All groups were assessed for the Plaque Index (PI) and Gingival Index (GI), Overhangs rate (Or), Alveolar Bone Loss (ABL) (the latter two using panoramic X-ray). HbA1c and duration of participants were also assessed and compared. rong>results:rong> The mean HbA1c results of the groups ranged from 8.1% to 9.5%, and their mean diabetes durations ranged from 7.2 to 12 years. All the groups showed worse periodontal scores, ranging from 2.45 - 2.95 for PI and 2.25 - 2.8 for GI. G2 had higher scores than G1 and G3 (p recorded scores (p r.r.te of overhangs than G3 (p r G1, 56.0% (SD 6.7) for G2, 46.5% (SD 5.8) for G3, and 74.5% (SD 6.4) for G4. The lowest values were recorded in G1 and G3 (p = 0.987). 文章本着探索中国老人和美国老人对使用以咨询为基础的服务的不同态度的目的,以150位中国老人和145位美国老人为样本,采用"害怕亲近量表"调查了中美老年人对专业帮助服务态度的现状,比较了中美老年人对专业帮助服务所持态度的不同特点。结果发现:相较美国老人,中国老人对专业帮助的态度更不积极;不同的因素影响着中国老人和美国老人对帮助服务的信心。

Utilizing Dimensional Analysis with Observed Data to Determine the Significance of Hydrodynamic Solutions in Coastal Hydrology

In this paper, the authors present an analysis of the magnitude of the temporal and spatial acceleration (inertial) terms in the surface-water flow equations and determine the conditions under which these inertial terms have sufficient magnitude to be required in the computations. Data from two South Florida field sites are examined and the relative magnitudes of temporal acceleration, spatial acceleration, and the gravity and friction terms are compared. Parameters are derived by using dimensionless numbers and applied to quantify the significance of the hydrodynamic effects. The time series of the ratio of the inertial and gravity terms from field sites are presented and compared with both a simplified indicator parameter and a more complex parameter called the Hydrodynamic Significance Number (HSN). Two test-case models were developed by using the SWIFT2D hydrodynamic simulator to examine flow behavior with and without the inertial terms and compute the HSN. The first model represented one of the previously-mentioned field sites during gate operations of a structure-managed coastal canal. The second model was a synthetic test case illustrating the drainage of water down a sloped surface from an initial stage while under constant flow. The analyses indicate that the times of substantial hydrodynamic effects are sporadic but significant. The simplified indicator parameter correlates much better with the hydrodynamic effect magnitude for a constant width channel such as Miami Canal than at the non-uniform North river. Higher HSN values indicate flow situations where the inertial terms are large and need to be taken into account.

The crumb rubber obtained from discarded vehicle tires and graphene oxide prepared by oxidation of graphite powder in laboratory were used to modify virgin bitumen. Four different hot mix asphalt matrices prepared using virgin bitumen, crumb rubber modified bitumen, graphene oxide modified bitumen and combination of crumb rubber-graphene oxide modified bitumen are compared. The modified bitumen matrices are characterised by Fourier transform infr.r.d spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy for structural and morphological analysis. Marshall properties along with indirect tensile test and tensile strength ratio tests were carried out to check the resistance towards cracking and moisture susceptibility of matrices. The results show that, crumb rubber and graphene oxide are completely compatible with bitumen. 9.8% crumb rubber content in crumb rubber modified bitumen hot mix asphalt exhibits the optimum result. The performance of graphene oxide modified bitumen hot mix asphalt exhibits superior performance in comparison to control mix and crumb rubber modified bitumen hot mix asphalt *** enhanced properties of modified bitumen hot mix asphalt with the combining effect of graphene oxide and crumb rubber, are suitable for.r.ad construction.

Bioavailability and Immunity response in Broiler Breeders on Organically Complexed Zinc Supplementation

Two hundred and sixty four broiler breeder hens of 32 weeks of age were distributed randomly in four dietary treatments. The dietary treatments were T0: Broiler breeder.r.tion containing 40 ppm zinc (basal 29.8 ppm + 10.2 ppm inorganic zinc), T1: T0 + organic zinc (zinc methionine) @ 20 ppm, T2: T0 + organic zinc @ 40 ppm and T3: T0 + organic zinc @ 60 ppm. The experiment was continued from 32 to 48 weeks of age. At 48 weeks, the weight of lymphoid organs, zinc levels in organs and immunity response were determined. The faecal zinc level was determined at monthly interval. The weight lymphoid organs of different treatment groups (both organic and inorganic zinc fed groups) of the broiler breeders did not differ significantly (P > 0.05). The cellular immune response of breeder birds to PHA-P was significantly (P 0.05) higher in group T3 than the rest of treated groups. The antibody titre to SrBC differed among the treated groups. The zinc content of serum of broiler breeders of all the groups did not differ significantly (P > 0.05) in all the periods of study. Zinc content in liver and tibia of broiler breeders in different dietary treatments of zinc differed significantly (P 0.05) with higher levels were obtained on increasing zinc concentration in the diet. The zinc level in the spleen and kidney of the broiler breeders in different dietary treatments did not differ significantly (P > 0.05). The average zinc content in the faeces of broiler breeder during 35 to 43 week of age did not differ significantly (P > 0.05) among the treated groups. At 48 weeks of age, zinc content of the faeces of T3 was found to be significantly (P 0.05) higher than the rest of treated groups. Similarly, during the overall experimental period analysis, it was found that zinc levels in the faeces of T2 and T3 were significantly (P 0.05) higher than T1 and T0.

Development of Sub-Seasonal remote Sensing Chlorophyll-A Detection Models

remote sensing techniques are proven methods for quantifying chlorophyll-a levels by inference algal concentrations in reservoirs. One traditional method is to use Landsat imagery and field data from a limited time period to develop a model for a reservoir which relates reflectance in various bands to measured algal (or chlorophyll-a) concentrations and use that model and associated imagery to determine spatial algal concentrations in the reservoir. In this work, we extend these techniques to use historical Landsat data over long time periods to develop seasonal models that will more accurately describe the conditions throughout the growing season. Previous work at Deer Creek included the development of a chlorophyll-a model using data from the months of August to September. This model did not account for seasonal variation and algal succession, which affects the relationship between measured reflectance and algal concentration. Early summer algal blooms are dominated by diatoms (yellow-brown), while the algae vary from chlorophyta (green) in the mid-summer to cyanobacteria (blue-green) in late summer months. This study presents and explores the development and use of seasonal algorithms based on reflective characteristics of various algal communities to create a more accurate model for the reservoir. This study uses water quality data collected over a 20-year period during non-ice conditions along with associated Landsat data. As the field measurements were not taken to support remote sensing measurements, this study evaluates the use of historical data to support remote sensing analysis. It is assumed that reservoir conditions do not change rapidly, the field data can be used to develop correlations with satellite imagery taken within a day of the field measurements, and the seasonal algal communities have different reflective properties (or colors). We present statistical analysis that shows the seasonal algorithms better fit the data than the non-seasonal model
