Membrane and membrane process have been considered as one of the most promising technologies for mitigating CO_2 emissions from the use of fossil fuels. In this paper, recent advances in polymeric membranes for CO_2 capture are reviewed in terms of material design and membrane formation. The selected polymeric materials are grouped based on their gas transport mechanisms, i.e., solution‐diffusion and facilitated transport. The discussion of solution‐diffusion membranes encompasses the recent efforts to shift the upper bound barrier, including the enhanced CO_2 solubility in several rubbery polymers and novel methods to construct shape-persisting macromolecules with unprecedented sieving ability. The carrier-bearing facilitated transport membranes are categorized based on the specific CO_2-carrier chemistry. Finally, opportunities and challenges in practical applications are also discussed, including post-combustion carbon capture(CO_2/N2), hydrogen purification(CO_2/H2), and natural gas sweetening(CO_2/CH4).

The physical properties of the new TeO_(2)-B_(2)O_(3)-PbO_(2)(TBP)-based glass system,obtained from the usual melt-quench method,have been investigated taking into account the infuence of the Pb(Zr_(y)Ti_(1-y))O_(3)(PZT)ferroelectric system.A crystalline-like structure,which characterizes a glass-ceramic-like state,promoted by the ferroelectric phase,has been revealed from the X-ray diffraction results for the sample with higher PZT *** the other hand,results on the dielectric response revealed noticeable dielectric anomalies,which until now have not been *** fact,the dielectric and ferroelectric properties suggest the existence of a structural phase transition induced by the PZT crystalline phase,which indeed have been related to the ferroelectric polar-phase regions embedded into the glass matrix.

Elastic scattering differential cross sections for a p- ~4He system are calculated within the framework of optical limit approximation of the Glauber multiple scattering model. Three different ranges for proton energy(E_(lab)), 19〈E_(lab)〈50 Me V, 100≤E_(lab)≤1730 Me V, and 45 ≤E_(lab)≤393 Ge V are considered. It is shown that the Pauli blocking fails to describe the data up to the proton energy, E_(lab)〈100 Me V. For higher proton energies, a qualitative agreement is obtained. The observed elastic scattering differential cross section is nicely reproduced in the whole range of scattering angles in the center of mass system up to Θ_(c.m.)〈200° for 19〈E_(lab) ≤100 Me V when the effect of both the nucleon–nucleon(NN) phase variation parameter γNN and higher-order momentum transfer components(λ_n; n = 1 and 2) of(NN) elastic scattering amplitude is included. In the range of 200 E_(lab) 1730 Me V, introducing λ_n plays a significant role in describing the data up to the momentum transfer, q^2≤1:2(Ge V/c)~***, it is found that considering only the effect of phase variation parameter, cNN, improved the agreement in the region of minima for elastic scattering differential cross section for 45≤E_(lab)≤393 Ge V. The values of cNNand kn as a function of incident proton energies are presented.

In this paper, typical conversion data and yield of the zeoforming process are presented, together with a typical process scheme. It has been shown that the process is already economic at small capacity. Therefore, the process is particularly attractive for those areas where a less developed logistic infrastructure demands gasoline production in relatively small production units.

Biodiesel(fatty acid alkyl esters),an alternate to fossil fuel,has the tendency of autoxidation and hence requires antioxidants for long term *** influence of synthetic and natural antioxidants on the oxidative stability was analysed for fresh FAMEs(fatty acid methyl esters)obtained from hevea brasiliensis at 140 *** activity was observed for synthetic antioxidants following the order of GA>BHT>DTBP>Q>GT-M>PH-M>GT-C,whereas the oxidative stability of stored FAMEs samples measured at 110 C reveals a nearly inverse *** stability was tested for the FAMEs obtained from hevea brasiliensis stored at 30 C,after addition of synthetic and natural antioxidants—butylated hydroxytoluene(BHT),2,6-di-tert-butylphenol(DTBP),quercetin(Q),gallic acid(GA),methanol extracts from green tea(GTM),pomegranate hull(PH-M),and chloroform extract of green tea(GT-C).Antioxidant activities above 1500 ppm was in the order of DTBP>BHT>GA>GT-C>GT-M>Q>*** antioxidants have been found more efficient to improve the storage stability of FAMEs obtained from hevea *** in particular has the highest protection factor.

Nitrogen processed, cold sprayed commercially pure(CP)-Al coatings on Mg-based alloys mostly lack acceptable hardness, wear resistance and most importantly are highly susceptible to localized corrosion in chloride containing solutions. In this research, commercially pure α-Ti top coating having good pitting potential(~1293 mV_(sCE)), high microhardness(HV_(0.025): 263.03) and low wear rate was applied on a CP-Al coated Mg-based alloy using high pressure cold spray technology. Potentiodynamic polarization(PDP) curves indicated that the probability of transition from metastable pits to the stable pits for cold spayed(Cs) Al coating is considerably higher compared to that with the Cs Ti top coating(for Ti/Al/Mg system). In addition, Cs Ti top coating was in the passivation region in most pH ranges even after 48 h immersion in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. The stored energy in the Cs Ti top coating(as a passive metal) was presumed to be responsible for the easy passivation. Immersion tests indicated no obvious pits formation on the intact Cs Ti top coating surface and revealed effective corrosion protection performance of the Cs double layered noble barrier coatings on Mg alloys in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution even after 264 h.
