由于硬质块矿资源迅速匮乏,因此,关于高炉炉料的理化和冶金性能的技术条件日益变得更严。这样,必然会产生出若干严格的标准检验方法来保证原料质量的均匀性。本文叙述各物理检验方法的关系,例如铁矿、锰矿石和铬矿及它们相差的烧结矿的落下、转鼓和耐磨指数的关系,以便确定冲击和研磨对上述矿石和烧结矿的影响。试验得出各矿石和相应烧结矿落下指数与转鼓指数、落下指数与耐磨指数之间存在相同的相关关系。

Electromagnetic forming （EMF） is a high velocity forming process that uses impulse magnetic force. Coil is an important component of EMF system which needs to be designed depending on application. Flat spiral coils are generally used for electromagnetic forming of sheet metals. However, with this type of coil the central portion of the workpiece experiences marginal magnetic force. This leads to in-sufficient deformation at this portion and other problems like air entrapment. In this study, a conceptual design of flat coil was proposed for better distribution of magnetic forces over the workpiece. Comparative analysis of distribution of magnetic force, magnetic field and current density using the proposed and the existing coil designs were carried out using FEM. The result indicates that the proposed coil design produces comparatively better magnetic force distribution over the workpiece. Calculation of self-inductance of such coils was also carried out and was compared with FE simulation.

The non-marine strata of the Ypresian Naredi Formation have been deposited and intermittently pedogenized after the culmination of the Early Eocene Climatic Optimum(EECO). This continental interval comprises intercalation of laterite and palaeosol horizons developed by cyclic episodes of erosion, subaerial exposure, and deposition. The palaeopedological analyses investigate the morphological and micromorphological features evidencing repeated subaerial exposure and consequently moderate to well-developed palaeosol horizons. The topmost laterite bed records an intensely bioturbated ichnofabric(consisting of the root traces and the composite ichnotaxa of lungfish aestivation burrows, Macanopsis(possible arachnid burrows), and Skolithos. The pedogenized shale horizons contain the paucispecific Camborygma-root trace ichnofabric with highly localized patchy preservation of Camborygma symplokonomos, Camborygma eumekenomos, and rhizoturbation. The ichnospecies variation of Camborygma along with the ichnofabric analyses led to the demarcation of stratigraphic horizons and evaluation of the palaeowater-table fluctuations vis-a-vis the low-order allocyclicity, the ethology of producers, and the depositional setting. The paucispecific suite of trace fossils refers to the Camborygma Ichnofacies, where the substrate is intermittently pedogenized and lateritized with upward increasing thickness of beds and intensity of pedogenesis, lateritization, ichnodiversity, and ***, as an expression of high-frequency(interpreted as 5th-order) stratigraphic fluctuations within an early Falling Stage Systems Tract(FSST), a hot palaeoclimate with seasonality varying between humid inundated to dry desiccated conditions is interpreted with the palaeowater table being the base-level control. In high seismic zone regions, slender reinforced concrete structural walls are commonly used in high-rise buildings as a main lateral load resisting element. These walls are very effective in limiting the lateral drift of the building due to their large in-plane stiffness. However, the presence of floor slabs influences the behavior of the shear wall. Also, the current design requirements do not account for the presence of floor slabs. To understand the behavior of wall-slab junctions and address the shortcomings of the current design requirements, the influence of two parameters, namely(a) aspect ratio and(b) longitudinal reinforcement ratio on the behavior is studied numerically. It is observed that the presence of floor slabs at different levels tends to partition the wall into squat wall panels between two consecutive floors. The wall-slab junctions show large stress concentrations arising from the strut action in the squat panels. It is also observed that the floor slabs can get significantly damaged near the wall-slab junction for lower vertical reinforcement ratios in the wall. Thus, the current codeprescribed minimum reinforcement in shear walls is not sufficient and needs to be revisited at for improved performance.

This article describes a novel approach for deciding optimal horizontal extent of soil domain to be used for finite element based numerical dynamic soil structure interaction(SSI)*** model for a 12 storied building frame,supported on pile foundation-soil system,is developed in the finite element based software framework,*** different structure-foundation configurations are analyzed under different ground motion *** extent of soil domain,along with the soil properties,were varied exhaustively for a particular structural *** on the reduction in the variation of acceleration response at different locations in the SSI system(quantified by normalized root mean square error,NrMSE),the optimum lateral extent of the soil domain is prescribed for various structural widths,soil types and peak ground acceleration levels of ground *** to the past studies,error estimation analysis shows that the relationships prescribed in the present study are credible and more inclusive of the various factors that influence *** relationships can be readily applied for deciding upon the lateral extent of the soil domain for conducting precise SSI analysis with reduced computational time.

Perceptive insight into incentive design and sustainability of participatory mangrove management: a case study from the Indian Sundarbans

Incentive design is among the decisive factors behind active community participation and long-term sustainability of participatory forest management. Especially in case of mangroves, where multiple interests apply, it requires a careful integration of several ecological, economic and institutional factors. The primary objective of this paper is to understand the basis of incentive design and make a comprehensive inquiry into the existing incentive mechanism of participatory mangrove management in Indian Sundarbans. The qualitative and in-depth assessment was derived against a conceptual framework that contains three main determinants: (1) resources availability, (2) control mechanism, and (3) perception of end-users. The study deploys the results of various participatory exercises such as structured interviews with forest officials, focus group discussions with 10 Joint Forest Management Committees and semi-structured interviews with 119 mangrove users. In general, we observed an over-cautious, hierarchical and safety-margin-based incentive design with distinct bifurcation of communities over the adequacy and effectiveness of derived benefits. Although, the incentives are diverse and align well with the overall conservation of mangroves, they are considered to be insufficient by nearly half of the mangrove users. The main issues that were observed to hinder effective community participation can be summarized as (1) serious restrictions on access to economically exploitable mangrove products, (2) passive involvement of vulnerable occupational groups, and (3) lack of trust and conflicting interests between the officials and the communities. Although the existing preventive management of mangroves can be justified considering the magnanimity of the Indian Sundarbans, it can severely impair community participation and emerge as a clear threat to future sustainability. Objective:To evaluate the protective effect of benzydamine hydrochloride against ethanol-induced oxidative stress and inflammation in rAW 264.7 ***:rAW 264.7 macrophages were treated with ethanol(100 mM)and benzydamine hydrochloride(7.5μM).The imflammatory status was confirmed by measuring pro-(TNF-αand IL-6)and anti-inflammatory(IL-10)cytokines through ELISA and rT-PCr *** oxygen species generation and mitochondrial membrane potential were investigated to study the protective role of benzydamine hydrochloride against ethanol-induced oxidative *** detection was also investigated using flow cytometry and acridine orange/ethidium bromide ***:Benzydamine hydrochloride significantly decreased the secretion of TNF-αand IL-6,as well as the generation of reactive oxygen species inside the cells,thereby stabilizing the mitochondrial membrane potential and reducing DNA *** ethanol-induced cellular necrosis was also reversed by the administration of benzydamine ***:Benzydamine hydrochloride ameliorates ethanol-induced cell apoptosis and inflammation in rAW macrophages.
