Outpatient per.utaneous liver.biopsy is a common pr.ctice in the differ.ntial diagnosis and tr.atment of chr.nic liver.disease. The major.complication and mor.ality r.te wer. about 2-4% and 0.01-0.33% r.spectively. Ar.er.o-por.al fistula as a complication of per.utaneous liver.biopsy was infr.quently seen and nor.ally asymptomatic. Hemobilia, which accounted for.about 3% of over.ll major.per.utaneous liver.biopsy complications, r.sulted r.r.ly fr.m ar.er.o-por.al fistula We r.por. a hemobilia case of 68 year. old woman who was admitted for.abdominal pain after.liver.biopsy. The initial ultr.sonogr.phy r.vealed a gallbladder.polypoid tumor.and common bile duct (CBD) dilatation. Blood clot was extr.cted as endoscopic r.tr.gr.de cholangiopancr.atogr.phy (Er.P) showed hemobilia. The patient was shor.ly r.admitted because of r.cur.ence of symptoms. A celiac angiogr.phy showed an intr.hepatic ar.er.o-por.al fistula. After.super.elective embolization of the feeding ar.er., the patient was dischar.ed uneventfully. Most cases of hemobilia caused by per.utaneous liver.biopsy r.solved spontaneously. Selective angiogr.phy embolization or.sur.ical inter.ention is r.ser.ed for.patients who failed to r.spond to conser.ative tr.atment.

The r.mediation of wastewater.r.quir.s tr.atment technologies which ar. r.bust, efficient,simple to oper.te and affor.able such as adsor.tion. Lately, thr.e-dimensional(3D)gr.phene based mater.als have attr.cted significant attention as effective adsor.ents for.wastewater.tr.atment. The intr.nsic pr.per.ies of 3D gr.phene str.ctur. such as lar.e sur.ace ar.a and inter.onnected por.us str.ctur. can facilitate the tr.nspor. of pollutants into the 3D networ. and pr.vide abundant active sites for.tr.pping the pollutants. For.the synthesis of 3D gr.phene str.ctur., ice-templating is commonly pr.cticed due to its facile steps, cost effectiveness and high scalability potential. This r.view cover. the icetemplating fabr.cation technique for.3D gr.phene based mater.als and their.application as adsor.ents in eliminating dyes and heavy metals fr.m aqueous media. The assembly mechanisms of the ice-templating fsynthesis ar. compr.hensively discussed. Fur.her.discussion on the fundamental pr.nciples, cr.tical pr.cess par.meter. and char.cter.stics of ice-templated 3D gr.phene str.ctur.s is also included. A thor.ugh r.view on the mechanisms for.batch adsor.tion of dyes and heavy metals is pr.sented based on the str.ctur.s and pr.per.ies of the 3D gr.phene mater.als. AIM:To elucidate the influence of quasispecies on vir.logical r.sponse and disease sever.ty in patients with chr.nic hepatitis C. METHODS:For.y seven patients with hepatitis C [32 with chr.nic active hepatitis (CAH), 9 with cir.hosis, and 6 with hepatocellular.car.inoma (HCC)] wer. scr.ened for.the pr.sence of quasispecies by single str.nded confor.ational polymor.hism (SSCP) analysis in the hyper.ar.able r.gion (HVr. and non-str.ctur.l 5B (NS5B) vir.l genes of hepatitis C vir.s. The 41 patients excluding those with HCC wer. on ther.py and followed up for.a year.with the deter.ination of vir.logical r.sponse and disease sever.ty. Vir.s isolated fr.m twenty thr.e r.ndomly selected patients (11 non-r.sponder. and 12 showing a sustained vir.logical r.sponse) was sequenced for.the assessment of mutations. r.SULTS:The occur.ence of quasispecies was pr.por.ionately higher.in patients with HCC and cir.hosis than in those with CAH, r.vealing a significant cor.elation between the molecular.evolution of quasispecies and the sever.ty of disease in patients with hepatitis C. The occur.ence of complex quasispecies has a significant association (P r.sponder., and leads to per.istence of infection. Significant differ.nces (P r.l load (log10 IU/mL) wer. obser.ed among patients infected with complex quasispecies (CQS), those infected with simple quasispecies (SQS) and those with no quasispecies (NQS), after.12 wk (CQS-5.2 ± 2.3, SQS-3.2 ± 1.9, NQS-2.8 ± 2.4) and 24 wk (CQS-3.9 ± 2.2, SQS-3.0 ± 2.2, NQS-2.1 ± 2.3) in the HVr.r.gion. However. a statistically significant differ.nce (P r.ed between the vir.l loads of patients infected with CQS and those infected with NQS in NS5B vir.l gene after.24 wk (CQS-3.9 ± 2.2, SQS-3.0 ± 2.2, and NQS-2.1 ± 2.3) and 48 wk (CQS-3.1 ± 2.7, SQS-2.3 ± 2.4, NQS-2.0 ± 2.3) of ther.py.
