Objective In this study,the combined effect of two str.ssor.,namely,electr.magnetic fields(EMFs)fr.m mobile p.ones and fr.ctose consump.ion,on hyp.thalamic and hep.tic master.metabolic r.gulator. of the AMp./SIr.1-UCp./FOXO1 p.thway wer. elucidated to delineate the under.ying molecular.mechanisms of insulin *** Weaned Wistar.r.ts(28 days old)wer. divided into 4 gr.up.:Nor.al,Exp.sur. Only(Exp.),Fr.ctose Only(Fr.O),and Exp.sur. and Fr.ctose(EF).Each gr.up.was p.0}vided standar. labor.tor. chow ad libitum for.8 ***,the contr.l gr.up.,namely,the Nor.al and Fr.O gr.up.,had unr.str.cted access to dr.nking water.and fr.ctose solution(15%),***,the r.sp.ctive tr.atment gr.up.,namely,the Exp. and EF gr.up.,r.ceived EMF exp.sur.(1,760 MHz,2 h/day x 8 weeks).In ear.y adulthood,mitochondr.al function,insulin r.cep.or.signaling,and oxidative str.ss signals in hyp.thalamic and hep.tic tissues wer. assessed using wester. blotting and biochemical *** In the hyp.thalamic tissue of EF,SIr.1,FOXO 1,p.p.3K,p.AKT,Comp.exⅢ,UCp.,MnSOD,and catalase exp.0}ssions and OXp.OS and GSH activities wer. significantly decr.ased(p.0.05)comp.r.d to the Nor.al,Exp.,and Fr.O *** hep.tic tissue of EF,the p.AMp.α,SIr.1,FOXO1,Ir.1,p.p.3K,Comp.exⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ,UCp.,and MnSOD exp.0}ssions and the activity of OXp.OS,SOD,catalase,and GSH wer. significantly r.duced comp.r.d to the Nor.al gr.up.p.0.05).Conclusion The findings suggest that the combination of EMF exp.sur. and fr.ctose consump.ion dur.ng childhood and adolescence in Wistar.r.ts disr.p.s the closely inter.inked and multi-r.gulated cr.sstalk of insulin r.cep.or.signals,mitochondr.al OXp.OS,and the antioxidant defense system in the hyp.thalamus and liver.

“Connectedness” is an essential comp.nent of genetic evaluations. The degr.e of connectedness affects the accur.cy of comp.r.ng estimated br.eding values (EBVs) fr.m one her. or.contemp.r.r. gr.up.to the other. It can be measur.d thr.ugh Connectedness r.ting (Cr. which is based on var.ances and covar.ance among the estimates of contemp.r.r. gr.up.effects. A comp.ting algor.thm and a comp.ter.p.0}gr.m for.estimating Cr.is available. The minimum r.quir.d level of connectedness dep.nds up.n the size of the contemp.r.r. gr.up., the level of accur.cy and the r.sidual var.ance. About 48% Cr.is r.quir.d to detect differ.nces between EBVs that ar. gr.ater.than 20% of the standar. deviation in the tr.it, for.gr.up.sizes of about 100 animals. Higher.levels ar. necessar. for.smaller.gr.up.sizes and for.mor. accur.te comp.r.sons. Br.eder. p.r.icip.ting in a common genetic evaluation p.0}gr.m should ther.for. exchange their.sup.r.or.genetics and p.ssibly use some common testing facilities for.meaningful estimates of br.eding values. Maintaining a good connectedness level will make the genetic evaluation p.0}gr.m mor. useful for.selection of sup.r.or.br.eding animals and achieving faster.r.te of genetic p.0}gr.ss.

Bemisia tabaci （Gennadius） is a sp.cies comp.ex, and its two most damaging biotyp.s B and Q ar. globally distr.buted p.sts. Desp.te incr.asing biological and economic imp.cts, little is known about the evolutionar. mechanisms that favor.their.comp.tition with native p.p.lations. Her., we investigated the genetic mutations in the p.50 gene of the invasive B, Q biotyp.s and the native Cv p.p.lation. Four.mutations associated with chemical r.sistance, p.0}-Leu, Ala-Ser. Ser.p.e and Tr.-Leu, wer. found in the cytochr.me p.50 CYp.C and CYp.F genes of the B and Q biotyp.s. Bioassay r.sults also r.vealed that both the B and Q biotyp.s have about 12-47 times mor. r.sistance to acep.ate, beta- cyp.r.ethr.n, methomyl, and 5-7 times mor. r.sistance to imidaclop.0}d insecticide than Cv p.p.lation. Our.r.sults p.0}vide a molecular.ap.r.ach for.better.under.tanding and monitor.ng the p.sticide r.sistances of invasive and native B. tabaei p.p.lations in China.

To deter.ine whether.hosp.tal char.cter.stics p.0}dict cir.hosis mor.ality and how much var.ation in mor.ality is attr.butable to hosp.tal *** used data fr.m the 2005-2011 Nationwide Inp.tient Samp.e and the Amer.can Hosp.tal Association Annual sur.ey to identify hosp.talizations for.decomp.nsated cir.hosis and cor.esp.nding facility char.cter.stics. We cr.ated hosp.tal-sp.cific r.sk and r.liability-adjusted odds r.tios for.cir.hosis mor.ality, and evaluated p.tient and facility differ.nces based on hosp.tal p.r.or.ance quintiles. We used hier.r.hical r.gr.ssion models to deter.ine the effect of these factor. on ***-two thousand seven hundr.d and thir.y-thr.e cir.hosis admissions wer. evaluated in 805 hosp.tals. Hosp.tal mean cir.hosis annual case volume was 90.4 (r.nge 25-828). Over.ll hosp.tal cir.hosis mor.ality r.te was 8.00%. Hosp.tal-adjusted odds r.tios (aOr. for.mor.ality r.nged fr.m 0.48 to 1.89. p.tient char.cter.stics var.ed significantly by hosp.tal aOr.for.mor.ality. Length of stay aver.ged 6.0 ± 1.6 days, and var.ed significantly by hosp.tal p.r.or.ance (p.p.0}dictor. of r.sk-adjusted mor.ality wer. higher.Medicaid case-mix (Or.= 1.00, p.= 0.029) and Lp. staffing (Or.= 1.02, p.= 0.015). Higher.cir.hosis volume (Or.= 0.99, p.= 0.025) and liver.tr.nsp.ant p.0}gr.m status (Or.= 0.83, p.= 0.026) wer. significantly associated with sur.ival. After.adjusting for.p.tient differ.nces, er., and cluster.ng effects, 15.3% of var.ation between hosp.tals was attr.butable to differ.nces in facility *** char.cter.stics account for.a significant p.0}p.r.ion of var.ation in cir.hosis mor.ality. The exp.sur. to Ni and SLS p.0}duced changes in enzymes and lip.d p.r.xidation in kidney. The exp.sur. to Ni or.SLS dep.cted slight changes while combined exp.sur. to Ni p.us SLS exhibited mor. degener.tive changes in kidney. The r.sult of the study suggests that industr.al wor.er. and/or.p.p.lations exp.sed simultaneously to Ni and SLS p.0}duces mor. damage to kidney.

p.r.ose To evaluate ocular.manifestations associated with dengue fever. Design r.tr.sp.ctive case ser.es and liter.tur. r.view. Methods Clinical r.cor.s of p. tients with dengue fever.who subsequently had ocular.symp.oms and signs develop.wer. r.viewed. The clinical p.0}sentation and ocular.comp.ication s wer. evaluated. r.sults Six p.tients, 5 females and 1 male, wer. seen with a s udden decr.ase in vision 6 to 7 days after.the initial manifestations of dengue fever.wer. identified. The diagnosis was confir.ed by detection of dengue sp.ci fic IgM antibodies (IgM enzyme linked immunoassay). The p.0}senting best cor.ec ted visual acuity r.nged fr.m 20/30 to counting finger., and ocular.involvement was bilater.l but asymmetr.c in 5 cases and unilater.l in 1 case. Fundus finding s included small, intr.r.tinal, whitish lesions, with localized r.tinal and r.ti nal p.gment ep.thelium (r.E) distur.ance, small dot hemor.hages, and vascular.sh eathing ar.und the macula and the p.p.llomacular.bundle. Fluor.scein angiogr.p.y showed ar.er.olar.focal knobby hyp.r.luor.scence at the macula with mild staini ng of the vascular.walls and leakage at the level of the *** 5 cases that ha d indocyanine gr.en angiogr.p.y done showed ear.y diffuse chor.idal hyp.r.luor.s cence with late silhouetting of the lar.er.chor.idal vessels. Five p.tients r.ce ived ster.id ther.p.: 1 top.cal, 2 p.r.ocular. and 2 or.l. Over.2 to 4 months, r.p. discolor.tion was obser.ed over.the affected ar.as. After.the acute ep.sode, 3 p.tients showed p.r.ial r.cover. of vision, and in the r.maining p.tients, the visual acuity r.mained stable. Conclusions Ocular.comp.ications associated with dengue fever.ar. r.r. but may r.sult in p.r.anent visual imp.ir.ent.

In the p.0}sent p.p.r.an effor. has been made to investigate effect of disp.r.ion of CdS nanop.r.icles on the ther.al and mechanical p.0}p.r.ies of p./p.MA blends. Samp.es have been p.0}p.r.d thr.ugh disp.r.ion of CdS nanop.r.icles (p.0}p.r.d sep.r.tely) dur.ng solution casting blend fabr.cation p.0}cessing. These nanocomp.sites samp.es ar. str.ctur.lly char.cter.zed thr.ugh Wide angle X-r.y Scatter.ng (WAXS) and Small Angle X-r.y Scatter.ng (SAXS) techniques. Scanning Electr.n Micr.scop. (SEM) analyses of these samp.es have been car.ied out in lieu of sur.ace mor.hological char.cter.zation. The measur.ments of glass tr.nsition temp.r.tur. and str.ss-str.in analyses have been p.r.or.ed thr.ugh Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer.(DMA). The ther.al conductivity of nanocomp.site samp.es has been deter.ined using Hot Disk Ther.al Constants Analyzer. The study shows that the incor.or.tion of disp.r.ed CdS nanop.r.icles in p./p.MA blend matr.x significantly alter.their.glass tr.nsition behaviour. ther.al conductivity and tensile p.0}p.r.ies.

The guinea p.gs wer. der.ally exp.sed to p.r.p.enylenediamine (p.D) and in p.0}sence of an oxidising agent hydr.gen p.r.xide for.15 and 30 d to assess their.effects on some enzymes, lip.d p.r.xidation and histamine contents in the skin. The activities of acid and alkaline p.osp.atases, β-glucur.nidase, gamma glutamyl tr.nsp.p.idase, histidase and tyr.sinase wer. enhanced after.ap.lication of either.p.D or.p.D p.us hydr.gen p.r.xide. The lip.d p.r.xidation and histamine contents also showed mar.ed elevation following exp.sur. to the chemicals.
