BACKGROUND Esophageal carcinoma presents as 2 types,esophageal adenocarcinoma(EAC)and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)with the frequency of both changing in the United States(US).AIM To investigate EAC/ESCC incidence time trends among the 3 main US racial groups and investigate trends in US EAC survival by *** Twenty-five years(1992-2016)of data from SEER 13 program was analyzed to compare incidence trends in EAC and ESCC between non-Hispanic whites(nHW),non-Hispanic Blacks(nHB)and Hispanics(Hisp)using SEERStat®.In addition,SEER 18 data,from 1975-2015,on EAC in the US was analyzed to evaluate racial disparities in incidence and survival using SEERStat®and Ederer II *** In the 3 major US ethnic groups,age-adjusted incidence of ESCC has declined while EAC has continued to rise from *** note,in Hisp,the EAC incidence rate increased while ESCC decreased from 1992 to 2016,resulting in EAC as the predominant esophageal cancer subtype in this group since 2011,joining ***,although ESCC remains the predominant tumor in nHB,the difference between ESCC and EAC has narrowed dramatically over 25 *** survival probabilities were worse in all minority groups compared to *** Hisp have joined nHW as US ethnic groups more likely to have EAC than *** note,EAC incidence in nHB is increasing at the highest rate *** lower EAC incidence in all minority groups compared to nHW,these populations have decreased survival compared to nHW.

This work explores the influence of double diffusion over thermally radiative flow of thin film hybrid nanofluid and irreversibility generation through a stretching *** nanoparticles of silver and alumina have mixed in the Maxwell fluid(base fluid).Magnetic field influence has been employed to channel in normal *** that are going to administer the fluid flow have been converted to dimension-free notations by using appropriate *** analysis method is used for the solution of the resultant *** this investigation it has pointed out that motion of fluid has declined with growth in magnetic effects,thin film thickness,and unsteadiness *** of fluid has grown up with upsurge in Brownian motion,radiation factor,and thermophoresis effects,while it has declined with greater values of thermal Maxwell factor and thickness factor of the thin *** distribution has grown up with higher values of thermophoresis effects and has declined for augmentation in Brownian motion.

We investigate the impact of Ni insertion on the structural,optical,and magnetic properties of Ba_(0.8)La_(0.2)Fe_(12-x)Ni_(x)O_(19)hexaferrites(Ni substituted La-BaM hexaferrites).Samples were prepared using the conventional co-precipitation method and sintered at 1000℃for 4 hours to assist the crystallization *** analysis of the structure of the samples was carried out using an x-ray diffraction(XRD)*** M-type hexagonal structure of all the samples was confirmed using XRD *** lattice parameters a and c were found to be in the ranges of 5.8925±0.001 nm–5.8952±0.001 nm and 23.2123±0.001 nm–23.2219±0.001 nm,*** M-type hexagonal nature of the prepared samples was also indicated by the presence of corresponding FT-IR bands and Raman modes in the FT-IR and Raman spectra,*** results confirmed the successful synthesis of the samples according to the required stoichiometric ratio.A UV-vis spectrometer was used to record the absorption spectra of the prepared samples in the wavelength range of 200 nm–1100 *** optical energy bandgap of the samples was found to be in the range of 1.21 eV–3.39 *** M–H loops of the samples were measured at room temperature at an applied magnetic field range of 0 kOe–60 kOe.A high saturation magnetization of 99.92 emu/g was recorded in the sample with x=0 at a microwave operating frequency of 22.2 *** high value of saturation magnetization is due to the substitution of La3+ions at the spin-up(12k,2a,and 2b)*** Ni substitution is proven to be a potential candidate for the tuning of the optical and magnetic parameters of M-type ***,we suggest that the prepared samples are suitable for use in magneto-optic applications.

血吸虫病是一种严重的世界性寄生虫病。控制血吸虫病的最佳方法之一是控制钉螺种群。目前多采用化学杀螺剂如氯硝柳胺控制钉螺。化学杀螺虽然杀螺效果好,但对水生生物的毒性和环境的污染问题难以克服。因此,我们试图寻找一种高效、低毒的生物源灭螺剂,以期避免化学杀螺剂的负面作用。苦葛是一种传统中药,用于治疗酗酒、心脏病、糖尿病等疾病,但鲜见苦葛用于杀螺报道。本研究以苦葛根为材料,通过水提法和有机溶剂提取法提取皂甙,并用于检测杀螺剂活性。结果表明,有机溶剂如乙醇提取物杀螺效果好于水提物。乙醇提取物杀螺效果具有时间效应和浓度效应,即随着处理时间的延长和处理浓度的增加,杀螺效果增加。其48小时、72小时、96小时的半数致死率LC分别为0.943mg/L、0.671mg/L和0.526mg/L,致死率LC分别为2.251mg/L、1.816mg/L和1.601mg/L,表现出较强的杀螺作用。用1/4LC、1/2LC和LC浓度乙醇提取物处理钉螺,测定钉螺肝脏生理指标,如总蛋白、肝糖原以及肝功能生理指标(酶谷氨酸-草酰乙酸转氨酶(GOT)和谷氨酸-丙酮酸转氨酶(GPT))。结果表明,钉螺肝脏总蛋白和肝糖原随处理时间延长和处理浓度增加,其含量显著低于对照,尤其肝糖原更甚。GOT和GPT含量总体呈先显著增趋势。表明苦葛提取物对钉螺能量代谢以及肝功能有明显损伤。通过高效液相色谱/质谱(HPLC-MS)进一步分析乙醇提取物,发现苦葛根提取物主要活性成分有皂苷A(20%)、B(19%)、C(14%)和D(24%)。总之,苦葛皂甙具有很强的杀螺作用,可作为潜在的植物源杀螺剂。其作用的毒理机制可能是皂甙导致钉螺能量耗竭,肝功能受损所致。

本文采用人工神经网络(ANN)与进化算法(特别是阿基米德优化算法(AOA)和水循环算法(WCA)相结合的方法)对非线性磁流体动力学(MHD)的Jeffery-Hamel问题,特别是收敛和发散通道中的拉伸/收缩问题进行了数值研究。这种组合技术被称为ANN-AOA-WCA。将基于复杂非线性磁流体动力学Jeffery-Hamel问题的偏微分方程转化为速度和温度的非线性常微分方程系统,我们建立了基于人工神经网络的适应度函数来求解非线性微分问题。随后,采用了一种新的AOA和WCA结合方法(AOAWCA)来优化基于神经网络的适应度函数,并确定了神经网络的最优权值和偏差。为了证明提出混合方法的有效性和多功能性,探索了一系列雷诺数、通道角和可拉伸边界值的MHD模型,从而开发了两种不同的情况。ANN-AOA-WCA的数值结果与参考解(NDSOLVE)非常接近,NDSOLVE与ANNAOA-WCA的绝对误差约为3.35×10^(−8),对可拉伸收敛和发散通道的理解特别关键。此外,为了验证ANN-AOA-WCA技术,我们对150多个独立运行进行了统计分析,以获得适应度值。

回归模型可用于预测森林生态系统地上生物量,其中最为常用的是最小二乘回归模型。在预测灌木,尤其是多茎灌木的地上生物量时,最小二乘法与贝叶斯方法的比较很少被研究。我们开发了小叶锦鸡儿(Caragana microphylla Lam.)生物量预测模型。小叶锦鸡儿是科尔沁沙地广泛分布的多茎灌木,对减少风蚀、固定沙丘具有重要作用。本研究建立6种表征生物量的异速增长模型,并基于统计标准选择在预测生物量方面表现最佳的1种,然后分别用最小二乘法与贝叶斯方法对模型中的参数进行估计。参数估计过程中用自助法考察样本量大小的影响,同时区分测试集与训练集。最后,我们比较了最小二乘法与贝叶斯方法在小叶锦鸡儿地上生物量预测中的表现。异速增长的6个模型均达到显著水平,其中幂指数为1的模型表现最佳。研究结果表明,采用无先验信息与有先验信息的贝叶斯方法进行估计,得到的均方误差在测试集上低于最小二乘法。另外,基径作为预测变量在最小二乘法与贝叶斯方法中均不显著,表明在生物量预测模型中应谨慎选择合适变量。本研究强调贝叶斯方法、自助法和异速增长模型相结合能够提升沙地灌木生物量预测模型的准确度。
