This study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture for intervening insulin resistance (IR)by meta-analysis of related randomized controlled trials (RCTs).Studies published prior to 31 January 2018 were searched on Pubmed,Medline,Cochrane Library, Embase databases and Chinese *** RCTs,which examined acupuncture as the sole or adjunctive treatment for IR-related diseases,were *** primary outcome was homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR).The secondary outcomes consisted of fasting blood glucose (FBG),fasting insulin (FINS)and 2-h postprandial blood glucose (2h-PBG).The differences between groups were reported as mean differences (MD).All statistical analyses were performed using RevMan software *** carefully screening relevant studies,9 RCTs involving 562 patients (279 in experimental group and 283 in control group)were enrolled in this *** pooled results showed that acupuncture had significant effects on HOMA-IR (MD 0.70,95%CI 0.04 to 1.35,P=-0.040.05).The present meta-analysis indicated that acupuncture can help to improve IR to a certain extent,which remains to be confirmed by further high-quality RCTs.

To evaluate the effect of triple puncture on primary trigeminal neuralgia (pTN),64 patients with pTN were randomly assigned to two groups:treatment group and control *** participants in the treatment group received triple puncture treatment of 6 times per week for 4 weeks,and those in control group were given carbamazepine (300-600 mg per day) for at least 1 *** and after treatment,the primary outcomes including the total efficiency rate and the VAS pain scores,and the secondary outcomes including the frequency of pain attack and adverse events were ***-two participants finished the study (33 in treatment group and 29 in control group individually).After treatment,the symptoms (mainly pain) of the two groups were *** total efficiency rate in the treatment group and control group was 90.9% and 75.9% *** VAS pain scores and frequency of pain attack were significantly reduced in the treatment group as compared with the control group (P<0.05).The incidence of adverse events in the treatment group and control group was 9.1% and 24.1% *** can be inferred that triple puncture can effectively improve the quality of life of patients with pTN and has less side effects.

Tandem cell with structure of indium tin oxide(ITO)/molybdenum oxide(MoO_(3))/fullerene(C60)/copper phthalocyanine(CuPc)/C60/tris-8-hydroxy-quinolinato aluminum(Alq_(3))/Al was fabricated to study the effect of net carriers at the interconnection layer. The open circuit voltage and short circuit current were found to be 1.15 V and 0.56 mA/cm^(2),respectively. Almost the same performance(1.05 V, 0.58 mA/cm^(2)) of tandem cell with additional recombination layer(ITO/MoO_(3)/C60/Alq_(3)/Al/Ag/MoO_(3)/CuPc/C60/Alq_(3)/Al) demonstrates that the carrier balance is more crucial than carrier recombination. The net holes at the interconnection layer caused by more carrier generation from the back cell on one hand would enhance the recombination with electrons from the front cell and on the other hand would quench the excitons produced in CuPc of the back cell.

Bioprosthetic heart valves(BHVs)are important for transcatheter valve *** commercial BHVs on the market are basically porcine or bovine pericardium(BP)crosslinked with glutaraldehyde(GA).Simply applying GA to BHVs can enhance mechanical stability,but cannot alleviate in vivo *** this work,we developed a two-step decellularization(TSD)strategy to modify this biomacromolecular network,in which BP was post-treated,as the second step of decellularization,with a mild biosurfactant n-dodecyl-β-D-maltoside in a mixture of isopropanol and phosphate-buffered saline after the first step of traditional decellularization and GA *** TSD-treated BP exhibited not only low cytotoxicity and excellent mechanical properties in vitro,but also low immune responses and significant anticalcification in *** 60 days of subcutaneous implantation in the back of Wistar rats,the calcium content was,as quantified with an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer,only 1.1µg/mg compared to 138.6µg/mg in the control group without the *** addition,collagen fibrils were observed with field emitting scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and the morphology and composition of the calcified sites resulting from in vivo biomineralization were studied with SEM with energy dispersive spectroscopy and also X-ray *** study proposes a facile yet effective anticalcification strategy for the modification of the bovine pericardial bioprosthetic heart valve,a natural biomacromolecular network.

A risk prediction score model for predicting occurrence of post-PCI vasovagal reflex syndrome： a single center study in Chinese population

Background The vasovagal reflex syndrome （VVRS） is common in the patiems undergoing percutaneous coronary intervemion （PCI） However, prediction and prevention of the risk for the VVRS have not been completely fulfilled. This study was conducted to develop a Risk Prediction Score Model to identify the determinants of VVRS in a large Chinese population cohort receiving PCI. Methods From the hos- pital electronic medical database, we idemified 3550 patients who received PCI （78.0% males, mean age 60 years） in Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 1, 2000 to August 30, 2016. The multivariate analysis and receiver operating characteristic 01OC） analysis were performed. Results The adverse events of VVRS in the patients were significantly increased after PCI procedure than before the operation （all P 〈 0.001）. The rate of VVRS [95% confidence interval （CI）] in patients receiving PCI was 4.5% （4.1%-5.6%）. Compared to the patients suffering no VVRS, incidence of VVRS involved the following factors, namely female gender, primary PCI, hypertension, over two stems im- plantation in the left anterior descending （LAD）, and the femoral puncture site. The multivariate analysis suggested that they were independ- ent risk factors for predicting the incidence of VVRS （all P 〈 0.001）. We developed a risk prediction score model for VVRS. ROC analysis showed that the risk prediction score model was effectively predictive of the incidence of VVRS in patients receiving PCI （c-statistic 0.76, 95% CI： 0.72-0.79, P 〈 0.001）. There were decreased evems of VVRS in the patients receiving PCI whose diastolic blood pressure dropped by more than 30 mmHg and heart rate reduced by 10 times per minute （AUC： 0.84, 95% CI： 0.81-0.87, P 〈 0.001）. Conclusion The risk prediction score is quite efficient in predicting the incidence of VVRS in patients receiving PCI. In which, the following factors may be in- volved, the femoral puncture site, female gender, hypertension, primary PCI, and over 2 stents

Low frequency （≤ 1 Hz） repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation （rTMS） can affect the excitability of the cerebral cortex and synaptic plasticity. Although this is a common method for clinical treatment of cerebral infarction, whether it promotes the recovery of motor function remains controversial. Twenty patients with cerebral infarction combined with hemiparalysis were equally and randomly divided into a low frequency rTMS group and a control group. The patients in the low frequency rTMS group were given 1-Hz rTMS to the contralateral primary motor cortex with a stimulus intensity of 90% motor threshold, 30 minutes/day. The patients in the control group were given sham stimulation. After 14 days of treatment, clinical function scores （National Institute of Health Stroke Scale, Barthel Index, and Fugl-Meyer Assessment） improved significantly in the low frequency rTMS group, and the effects were better than that in the control group. We conclude that low frequency （1 Hz） rTMS for 14 days can help improve motor function after cerebral infarction.

Multifunctional architecture with intriguing structural design is highly desired for realizing the promising performances in wearable sensors and flexible energy storage *** nanofiber(CNF)is employed for assisting in building conductive,hyperelastic,and ultralight Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene hybrid aerogels with oriented tracheid-like *** biomimetic hybrid aerogels are constructed by a facile bidirectional freezing strategy with CNF,carbon nanotube(CNT),and MXene based on synergistic electrostatic interaction and hydrogen *** CNF and CNT“mortars”bonded with MXene“bricks”of the tracheid structure produce good interfacial binding,and superior mechanical strength(up to 80%compressibility and extraordinary fatigue resistance of 1000 cycles at 50%strain).Benefiting from the biomimetic texture,CNF/CNT/MXene aerogel shows ultralow density of 7.48 mg cm^(-3)and excellent electrical conductivity(~2400 S m^(-1)).Used as pressure sensors,such aerogels exhibit appealing sensitivity performance with the linear sensitivity up to 817.3 kPa^(-1),which affords their application in monitoring body surface information and detecting human ***,the aerogels can also act as electrode materials of compressive solid-state supercapacitors that reveal satisfactory electrochemical performance(849.2 mF cm^(-2)at 0.8 mA cm^(-2))and superior long cycle compression performance(88%after 10,000 cycles at a compressive strain of 30%).
