Application of organic fertilizer for improving soybean production under acidic stress

The presence of acidic soil in rural areas poses difficulties for agricultural *** factor regulating soil pH is the overuse of inorganic *** increased use of fertilizers in soybean production not only raises sustainability concerns but also contributes to soil ***,the use of organic fertilizer could offer a solution for addressing both issues related to soil acidity and *** purpose of this study was to investigate the manipulation of soil pH using organic fertilizer for soybean production under acidic *** planting medium,consisting of a mixture of topsoil,rice husk charcoal,and organic fertilizer(in a ratio of 2:1:1),was supplemented with 0.5 g of NPK fertilizer as a basal treatment in each planting *** regulate the soil acidity to pH 4,we added FeSO_(4) and allowed the mixture to incubate for 30 *** results demonstrate that the application of three types of organic fertilizers chicken manure(P1),oil palm empty bunch fertilizer(P2),and vermicompost(P3)positively impacts the growth of three soybean *** findings indicate that the application of P2 organic fertilizer can increase vegetative growth almost 50%in soybeans on acidic soil,including plant height,leaf count,and root ***,applying P3 organic fertilizer can boost reproductive growth responses in soybeans on acidic soil,such as pod number(from around 0-4 unit to 42-51 unit),grain number(from around 0-5 unit to 88-90 unit),and grain weight(from around 0-0.37 g to 12-25 g).Organic fertilizer has the potential to regulate soil pH,promoting higher yields of soybeans under acidic stress.

Comparison of sperm parameters and DNA fragmentation index between infertile men with infection and vaccines of COVID-19

Several preventive measures,including vaccination,have been implemented owing to the severe global effect of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),but there is still limited evidence in the effect of this disease and vaccination against it on male ***,this study is to compare sperm parameters of infertile patients with or without COVID-19 infection and the effect of COVID-19 vaccine types on *** samples of infertile patients were collected consecutively at Universitas Indonesia-Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital(Jakarta,Indonesia).COVID-19 was diagnosed by rapid antigen or polymerase chain reaction(PCR)*** was performed with three types of vaccine,namely inactivated viral vaccine,messenger RNA(mRNA)vaccine,and viral vector *** were then analyzed on the World Health Organization recommendations,and DNA fragmentation was assayed with the sperm chromatin dispersion *** results showed that the COVID-19 group experienced a significant decrease in sperm concentration and progressive motility(both P0.05).The viral vector vaccine caused a decrease in morphology as well as an increase in DFI compared with the control(both P0.05).We conclude that COVID-19 has negative effects on sperm parametes and sperm DNA fragmentation,and we found that the viral vector vaccines affect sperm parameter values and DNA fragmentation *** studies with a larger population and longer follow-up are needed to confirm the results.

Sensory and Organoleptic Characteristic, Zinc and Iron Content of Fortified Chips from Cassava Flour

Iron fortification can cause several biophysicochemical modifications. Those depend on many factors, such as iron fortificant and the food carrier. There were four groups of chips： 1） non-fortified wheat flour chips （K1）; 2） non-fortified cassava flour chips （K2）; 3） fortified cassava flour chips, each with ZnSO4 30 ppm and NaFe EDTA （K3） 30 ppm and 4） fortified cassava flour chips, each with ZnSO4 50 ppm and NaFe EDTA （K4） 50 ppm. The chips were evaluated for sensory characteristic （color, taste, flavor, and texture）, organoleptic characteristics tested by preference test, as well as zinc and iron contents. Zinc and iron contents were analyzed by Atomic Absorption Spectophotometric method. The results showed that both fortificants did not affect the sensory characteristic of cassava flour chips. The preference test showed that color, taste, and flavor of Kl chips as a control, were mostly liked, but there was no significant difference preference of texture. Moreover, preference test using K2 as control showed that color of K3 was mostly liked, but there was no significant difference preference of taste, flavor and texture. Fortification can increase the contents of zinc and iron in cassava flour chips. The panelist can accept the fortified cassava chips as well as wheat flour chip, as a consequence, both can be a potential way to combat the iron deficiency anemia.

The recent increase in placenta accreta spectrum has been correlated with a rise in the rate of cesarean sections.A recent study provides evidence that hampered wound healing results in cesarean scar defects that lead to a failure in the normal process of decidualization and deeper adherence of *** metalloproteinase(MMP)is crucial in every step of wound healing as it alters the wound matrix,facilitating cell migration,as well as tissue ***-9 expression is higher in placental and decidual tissue in cases of placenta *** on these findings,assessment of MMP-9 expression can shed new light on the etiopathology of placenta accreta spectrum disorder and can be a potential diagnostic marker.
