Inpatient falls from beds in hospitals are a common *** falls may result in severe *** problem can be addressed by continuous monitoring of patients using *** advancements in deep learning-based video analytics have made this task of fall detection more effective and *** with fall detection,monitoring of different activities of the patients is also of significant concern to assess the improvement in their *** computation-intensive models are required to monitor every action of the patient *** requirement limits the applicability of such ***,to keep the model lightweight,the already designed fall detection networks can be extended to monitor the general activities of the patients along with the fall *** by the same notion,we propose a novel,lightweight,and efficient patient activity monitoring system that broadly classifies the patients’activities into fall,activity,and rest classes based on their *** whole network comprises three sub-networks,namely a Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)based video compression network,a Lightweight Pose Network(LPN)and a Residual Network(ResNet)Mixer block-based activity recognition *** compression network compresses the video streams using deep learning networks for efficient storage and retrieval;after that,LPN estimates human ***,the activity recognition network classifies the patients’activities based on their *** proposed system shows an overall accuracy of approx.99.7% over a standard dataset with 99.63% fall detection accuracy and efficiently monitors different events,which may help monitor the falls and improve the inpatients’health.

The Surgical Treatment and Outcome of Nonmetastatic Extremity Osteosarcoma with Pathological Fractures

Background：Recent studies have suggested that the presence of a pathological fracture does not impact on oncologic outcomes and the feasibility of limb salvage surgery （LSS） in appropriately selected patients when combined with neoadjuvant *** have largely been single institutional studies with limited *** Eastern Asian Musculoskeletal Oncology Group reviewed the data from three large volume Asian orthopedic oncology centers to determine whether the presence of a pathologic fracture affected outcomes in osteosarcoma ***：A retrospective review of the data was ***-five cases ofnonmetastatic extremity osteosarcoma with a pathological fracture and 887 cases without fracture treated during the same period were ***：In the fracture group,the LSS rate was 62.1％,and the rate of amputation was 37.9％.In the nonfracture group,the LSS rate was 74.7％,and the amputation was 25.3％.In patients with a pathologic fracture,the rate of local recurrence for LSS and amputation groups was 8.5％ and 2.8％,*** this group,the 5-year survival in the LSS group was 66％ as against.46.8％ in the amputation ***：Our study suggests that surgically treated patients with pathologic fractures in osteosarcoma have adequate local control and do not have a poorer outcome compared to patients without a *** osteosarcoma with a pathologic fracture is not a contraindication for limb salvage,appropriate case selection is important when deciding local control options to ensure adequate oncologic clearance.

Relevance of Predictors in Difficult Intubation for Patients Undergoing Maxillofacial Surgery

Objective: To determine a clinically useful variable for predicting difficult tracheal intubation in patients with seemingly normal airways. Material and Methods: In our study we had included 68 patients from September 2011 to September 2013 who needed tracheal intubation for elective maxillofacial surgery. An airway assessment test was conducted on each patient prior to general anaesthesia, with respect to mouth opening, sternomental distance, thyromental distance, oropharyngeal (Mallampati) classification and ability to protrude the mandible. After induction of anaesthesia, the laryngeal view during laryngoscopy was graded and then the ability to intubate was assessed. Results: Incidence of difficult intubation occurred in 8 (11.76%) cases out of 68 patients. Airway test that was significant for predicting difficult tracheal intubation was SMD of less than 12.5 cm, TMD of less than 6 cm, a score according to Mallampati et al. of greater than III, protrusion of mandible position B and position C and IIG less than 3 cm with sensitivity of 87.5%, 62.5%, 62.5%, 25% and 50%, respectively. Conclusion: Our study concluded that sternomental distance had the highest sensitivity of 87.5% which was statistically significant

Prevalence and Sex Distribution of Temporomandibular Disorder and Their Association with Anxiety and Depression in Indian Medical University Students

Objectives: The term TMD refers to a group of disorders characterized by pain in the temporomandibular joint and associated structures. The aim of this study was designed to evaluate prevalence, severity and sex distribution of sign and symptoms of TMD and to evaluate their relation with anxiety and depression among the students. Material and Methods: A total of 1000 university students were enrolled in the study (550 females;450 males), with ages ranged between 18 and 28 years. Helkimo anamnestic index (Ai) and clinical dysfunction index (Di) were used to determine symptoms and signs respectively. For the association of TMD with anxiety and depression, HAD (Hospital Anxiety and Depression) scale was used. Results showed that prevalence of one or more symptoms of TMD was 27.7%, while the prevalence of one or more signs of TMD was 64.4% which was mild in severity. Mild anamnestic symptoms (AiI) were found in 19.8% and severe symptoms (AiII) were found in 7.6%, while mild clinical sign (DiI), moderate clinical (DiII) and severe clinical sign (DiIII) were found in 49.7%, 12.2% and 2.4% respectively. Statistically there was no gender difference in these two scales. Regarding the association between TMD with anxiety and depression, 206 of the 311 students (66.2%) with TMD symptoms also had signs of anxiety and depression (P < 0.001). Conclusion: These findings confirmed that students had high prevalence of TMD which was significantly associated with anxiety and depression.

Assessment of Relationship between Pain and Anxiety Following Dental Extraction—A Prospective Study

Objective—Anxiety and expected dental pain are the main reasons for avoiding any dental treatment by general population. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the various factors which can in-crease the anxiety and its association with pain perception of patients following dental extraction. Material and Methods—We had included 100 patients in our study who were undergoing orthodontic treatment and required extraction of either 34 or 44. Pain and anxiety levels after extraction were assessed with a visual analog scale (VAS) and an anxiety questionnaire consisting of eleven questions. Results—The mean VAS score for the entire study group was 16.23 ± 1.28 with statistically significant differences between genders, and was high in females and no statistically significant differences between different age groups. The mean anxiety score was 10.64 ± 3.12. This was significantly higher in women (P = 0.005), but there was no statistically significant differences between different age groups. There was a statistically significant correlation between VAS and total anxiety score (P < 0.001) as well as each question, except for question number 4, 8 and 9 in men. Conclusion—Although most patients had experienced limited pain, there was a significant gender difference in pain and anxiety level. They were anxious because they expected pain, women being more anxious than men. The most provoking factor for anxiety and pain while going for extraction in females was “being seated in dental chair”, while in men the most provoking factor was “uncertainty about proper numbness before extraction”.

一次大地震发生后,公众和决策者首先便会提出一个重要的问题:这是一个主震还是一个即将来临的更大地震的前震。到目前为止,科学家们只能通过对过去历史地震序列的统计给出经验性的结论,通常认为,余震序列会随着时间的推移而逐渐减小,未来发生更大地震的可能性只有百分之几。本文中,我们分析了意大利阿马特里奇-诺尔恰(Amatrice-Norcia)地震和日本熊本(Kumamoto)地震的序列余震平均大小分布,认为在一些情况下,区分一个序列是衰减的余震序列还是正在发展的即将发生更大地震的序列,是有可能的。我们同时提出了一个简单的“交通灯”分级准则来实时评估其对序列后续更大地震的敏感程度,并对58次地震进行了测试,结果显示准确率可达95%。

探究了地震构造区内地震相对震级大小分布或b值系统地取决于断裂类型的假设。因为b值已被证明与应力成反比，我们希望发现b逆断〈b走滑〈b正断。我们针对意大利的例子检验这一期望。我们首先建立了地震构造分区模型，它包含10个不同的构造区。然后基于震源机制用初动和全波形的矩张量之和表述每个构造区断裂类型的特征。我们计算了每个构造区的b值，发现逆断层区的b值最低，在0．75～0．81之间，正断层区的b值最高，为1．09，走滑区的b值居中，介于0．9～0．92之间。我们的结果表明，b值作为所有地震危险性评估的一个关键参数，应该根据当地的断裂状态确定。另外，地震构造分区模型中应将b值的变化作为一个输入参数。

为了进一步提高哈萨克语句法分析的准确率,为哈萨克语自然语言处理奠定良好基础,对基于转移的哈萨克语句法分析进行研究,采用改进后的基于转移的方法对句法树进行处理,即中序遍历句法树的方法将句法树转换为动作序列。使用神经网络构建句法分析器框架,分别使用三个长短期记忆网络(LSTM)表示堆栈信息、缓冲区信息以及动作历史信息对模型进行训练,根据所得到的概率预测动作序列,从而得到句法分析的结果。改进后的转移方法得到的句法分析准确率为74.37%。
