Modern and paleoclimate changes may have altered species dynamics by shifting species’niche suitability over space and *** analyze whether the c.r.ent genetic structure and isolation of the two large American felids,jaguar(Panthera onca)and puma(Puma concolor),are mediated by changes in climatic suitability and connection routes over modern and paleoclimatic *** estimate species distribution under 5 climatic landscapes(modern,Holocene,last maximum glaciations[LMG],average suitability,and climatic instability)and c.r.elate them with individuals’genetic isolation through causal modeling on a resemblance *** species exhibit genetic isolation patterns c.r.elated with LMG climatic suitability,suggesting that these areas may have worked as“allele refuges.”However,the jaguar showed higher vulnerability to climate changes,responding to modern climatic suitability and connection routes,whereas the puma showed a continuous and gradual transition of genetic *** differential responsiveness to climate change,both species are subjected to the climatic effects on genetic configuration,which may make them susceptible to future climatic changes,since these are progressing faster and with higher intensity than changes in the ***,the effects of climatic changes should be considered in the design of conservation strategies to ensure evolutionary and demographic processes mediated by gene flow for both species.

Musculoskeletal Pain in Medical Students Subject to remote Teaching during the cOVID-19 Pandemic

Musculoskeletal pain is a consequence of repetitive strain, overuse, and work-related musculoskeletal disorders. In 2020, due to the new c.r.navirus pandemic, social isolation started, and so did online classes in a remote study strategy to replace classroom-based study routines. Thus, students adopted a different physical posture from the usual one for a longer time than usual, representing a possible risk factor for musculoskeletal pain. In this sense, this research aimed to identify the occ.r.ence of musculoskeletal pain in medical students subject to distance learning during the cOVID-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional, descriptive and exploratory study was applied through an online questionnaire, using the Google Forms application, to 154 students from the first to the fourth year of the medical course at a university in the countryside of the state of S?o Paulo. Among the participants, 99 (64.3%) were female, and 54 (35.7%) were male individuals with ages ranging from 18 and 34. In regards to the daily study time in sitting position, 83 (55.0%) reported staying more than 4 hours, 39 (25.8%) between 2 and 4 hours, and 29 (19.2%) less than 2 hours still. As for musculoskeletal pain before the pandemic;98 (63.6%) reported not feeling it, while 56 (36.4%) reported being affected by this type of pain. However, after the pandemic, 51 respondents (33.1%) continued not to feel anything, whereas 103 (66.9%) kept on having some type of musculoskeletal pain. The results obtained suggest an increase in musculoskeletal pain during the pandemic however other studies may confirm these findings.

Action of Essential Oils Obtained from Baccharis c.r.difolia D.c.(Asteraceae-Astereae)on the Activity of Antibiotics

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Baccharis c.r.difolia essential oil on the Activity of Antibiotics. Assays were performed with ampicillin (10 μg), cephalothin (30 μg), chloramphenicol (30 μg), gentamicin (10 μg) and tetracycline (30 μg) alone and in combination with the essential oil (4% v/v) through the disk diffusion susceptibility test. The results showed the effects of essential oil on the activity of the antibiotics tested. Zones of inhibition of bacterial growth with different diameters were observed surrounding the antibiotic disks, whether or not they were impregnated with the essential oil. The occ.r.ence of the synergistic or antagonistic effect was observed in both bacterial strains assessed—Staphylococcus aureus (ATcc-25923) and Escherichia coli (ATcc-25922). These results show that the use of products derived from plants can, in some cases, interfere with the effectiveness of antibiotics during clinical therapy.

Background: Endometriosis is a gynecological, multifactorial condition that affects women’s life quality, especially due to the pain inherent to it. Pain is caused by physical and psychological aspects;therefore, several factors must be analyzed, aiming to treat the whole. conventional, drug or surgical treatments are the most used;however, the search for alternative therapeutic methods is growing. Objective: To analyze the approach to pain in women with endometriosis, seeking a better understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms of this disease, its impact on life quality, as well as the means of treatments in use and innovations in this field. Methods: Systematic literature review, conducted in the Virtual Health Library databases between 2010 and 2021, restricted to articles in English and Portuguese with the descriptors: Endometriosis, Pain, and Treatment. After reading the abstracts, 197 articles were found, and, after reading them, 59 articles were selected. results: This review analyzed 59 scientific studies that rigorously met the previously established characteristics in the sample selection. The synthesis included the following aspects: author/year of publication, article title, objective, type of study and database. related factors such as acute or c.r.nic pain, late diagnosis, discrediting symptomatic complaints and trivialization by health professionals have a profound impact on the physical and mental health of women with endometriosis. On the other hand, there are several classes of drugs, surgical procedures, and alternative therapies available for pain management. conclusion: Given the context addressed, a c.r.ain need is suggested for health professionals to better understand the disease and adopt new behaviors or improve existing ones, such as reception, active listening, early diagnosis and comprehensive and individualized treatment. Background: The intra-aortic balloon pumping (IABP) is the most used ventricular mechanical assist device. In recent years, the preoperative use in patients with severe ventricular dysfunction presents itself as a great benefic strategy to the postoperative recovery. This paper aim is to evaluate the IABP post-operative benefit in patients with severe ventricular dysfunction. Methods: From January 2011 to March 2016, 125 patients underwent a c.r.nary artery bypass graft (cABG) with c.r.iopulmonary bypass and preoperative IABP in Teaching Hospital of the ABc Medical School and Hospital Estadual Mario covas. The inclusion criteria were the presence of severe ischemic c.r.iomyopathy with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) less than or equal to 40%, estimated by Doppler echoc.r.iography using the Simpson method. The preoperative LVEF was 30.25% ± 8.53% and the diastolic diameter of the left ventricle (LVDD) 67.75 ± 16.37 mm. IABP was installed approximately 15 hours before the surgery. results: The patients required the IABP for 2.4 ± 1.58 days, and vasoactive drugs, 4.8 ± 2.12 days. We performed 3.2 ± 1.9 grafts per patient and the total length of stay was 07 ± 5.52 days. c.r.iopulmonary bypass time was 67 ± 10.95 minutes and anoxia time, 46.4 ± 10.06 minutes. Twelve patients (9.6%) had pneumonia and four (3.2%), atrial fibrillation. We observed a LVDD reduction to 63 ± 16.26 (p = 0.068) and LVEF enhancement to 36.50 ± 16.86 (p = 0.144). The data were analyzed statistically acc.r.ing to the Wilcoxon test. There were no deaths. conclusion: The initial experience of the authors with the preoperative IABP in patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction suggests great benefit in post-operative recovery with im-provement of LVEF and reduction of LVDD.

This paper evaluates the utilization of the radical chemiluminesecnce imaging and tomographic.r.construction techniques to assess advanced information on reacting flows. Two different laboratory flow configurations were analyzed, including unconfined non-premixed jet flame measurements to evaluate name fuel/air mixing patterns at the burner-port of a typical glass-furnace burner. The second case characterized the reaction zone of premixed flames within gas turbine combustion chambers, based on a laboratory scale model of a lean prevaporized premixed (LPP) combustion chamber. The analysis shows that advanced imaging diagnosis can provide new information on the characterization of flame mixing and reacting phenomena. The utilization of local c2 and cH chemiluminescence can assess useful information on the quality of the combustion process, which can be used to improve the design of practical combustors.
