Impact of metabolic disorders on gallstone disease and perioperative recovery after laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Background:Gallstone disease(GSD),nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),metabolic dysfunctionassociated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),and metabolic syndrome(MetS)are common medical disorders *** study aimed to ascertain how NAFLD,MAFLD,MetS,and other factors affect the development of GSD,and how the GSD-associated factors influence patient recovery after laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC).Methods:We included 200 patients who were diagnosed with GSD and underwent LC between January 2017 and February 2022.A total of 200 subjects without GSD and“non-calculous causes”during the same period were also included as *** compared the metabolic disorder differences between GSD patients and ***,we sub-grouped patients based on the comorbidities of preoperative NAFLD,MAFLD,and MetS,and compared the impacts of these comorbidities on short-term post-LC functional recovery of the ***:The prevalence of NAFLD and MetS were higher in GSD patients(P<0.05).Based on multivariate logistic regression analysis,hyperglycemia[odds ratio(OR)=2.2,95%confidence interval(CI):1.4–3.4,P=0.001]and low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)level(OR=1.8,95%CI:1.1–3.1,P=0.048)were linked to *** and MetS linked to liver enzymes after LC(P<0.05).MetS also linked to the levels of inflammatory indicators after LC(P<0.05).The obesity,hyperlipidemia,low HDLC level,and hyperglycemia linked to liver enzymes after LC(P<0.05).Hyperlipidemia,low HDL-C level,and hypertension linked to inflammation after LC(P<0.05).Conclusions:The prevalence of GSD may be linked to NAFLD and *** and low HDL-C level were independent risk factors of GSD.

Consensus in nonlinear multi-agent systems with nonidentical nodes and sampled-data control

This paper primarily discusses the leader-following consensus problem in nonlinear second-order multi-agent systems with nonidentical nodes. Sampled-data-based protocols are applied to reach *** delay-free and input-delay protocols are proposed. Based on the Lyapunov functional approach and linear matrix inequality(LMI) method, sufficient criteria are obtained to guarantee quasi-consensus for nonlinear heterogeneous multi-agent systems. All the heterogeneous followers can track the leader within a bounded range. Furthermore, the error systems between the leader and each follower eventually converge to a convergence domain that depends on the heterogeneity among the dynamics of the agents. Additionally,leader-following consensus can also be reached as the heterogeneity vanishes. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the theoretical results.

Recovery of iron from copper slag via modified roasting in CO-CO2 mixed gas and magnetic separation

A novel technology,modified roasting in CO-CO2 mixed gas and magnetic separation,was presented to recover iron from copper *** effects of various parameters such as dosage of flux(CaO),gas flowrate of CO and CO2,roasting temperature,roasting time,particle size of modified slag and magnetic flux density on the oxidized modification and magnetic separation were investigated by comparison of the X-ray diffraction patterns and iron recovery *** optimum conditions for recovering iron by oxidizing roasting and magnetic separation are as follows:calcium oxide content of 25 wt.%,mixed gas flow rates of CO2 and CO of 180 and 20 mL/min,oxidizing roasting at 1323 K for 2 h,grinding the modified slag to 38.5-25.0μm and magnetic separation at 170 *** mineralogical and microstructural characteristics of modified slag revealed that the iron-bearing minerals in the copper slag were oxidized,the generated magnetite grew into large particles,and the silicate in copper slag was combined with calcium oxide to form calcium ***,the iron-bearing concentrate with an iron grade of 54.79%and iron recovery ratio of 80.14%was effectively obtained.

Prediction of epidemics dynamics on networks with partial differential equations:A case study for COVID-19 in China

Since December 2019,the COVID-19 epidemic has repeatedly hit countries around the world due to various factors such as trade,national policies and the natural *** closely monitor the emergence of new COVID-19 clusters and ensure high prediction accuracy,we develop a new prediction framework for studying the spread of epidemic on networks based on partial differential equations(PDEs),which captures epidemic diffusion along the edges of a network driven by population flow *** this paper,we focus on the effect of the population movement on the spread of COVID-19 in several cities from different geographic regions in China for describing the transmission characteristics of *** results show that the PDE model obtains relatively good prediction results compared with several typical mathematical ***,we study the effectiveness of intervention measures,such as traffic lockdowns and social distancing,which provides a new approach for quantifying the effectiveness of the government policies toward controlling COVID-19 via the adaptive parameters of the *** our knowledge,this work is the first attempt to apply the PDE model on networks with Baidu Migration Data for COVID-19 prediction.

Study on hydrogen adsorption on WO_(3)(001) surface by density functional theory calculation

Hydrogen reduction of tungsten oxide is currently the most widely used technology to produce metal tungsten for its simplicity and pollution-free *** computer simulation is a powerful tool for exploring the mechanism of hydrogen reduction of tungsten oxide from a microscopic *** density functional theory(DFT) is applied to investigate the adsorption characteristic of hydrogen molecule on the surface and inside the lattice of WO_(3).The adsorption energy of hydrogen on the WO_(3)(001) surface is 66.56 ***^(-1) which is larger than the adsorption energy of hydrogen molecule inside the lattice of WO3 which indicates that once the hydrogen diffuses inside the lattice,it is easier to adsorb on the O atom to break W-O *** The diffusion process of a hydrogen molecule from the WO-terminated WO_(3)(001) surface to the inside of the WO_(3) lattice and hydrogen molecule adsorption inside the lattice was *** activation energy of hydrogen molecule diffusion from the surface down to the first interstitial and diffusion from the first interstitial down to the second interstitial is 195.41 and 172.81 kJ·mol^(-1),*** controlling step of hydrogen reduction of tungsten oxide may be the hydrogen molecule diffusion inside the oxides lattice through the interstitial.

Target layer state estimation in multi-layer complex dynamical networks considering nonlinear node dynamics

The effect of mycophenolate acid on hepatitis B virus replication in vitro

OBJECTIVE: To use 2.2.15 cell line to determine the effects of mycophenolate acid (MPA) on hepatitisB virus (HBV) replication and viral protein synthesis in ***: The 2.2.15 cells were treated with different concentration of MPA (1-50 μg/ml) for 12days. HBsAg and HBeAg were detected in the supernatant fluid by ELISA and intracellular HBV DNAwas analyzed quantitatively by slot blot ***: MPA could suppress the expression of HBsAg and HBeAg, and the higher concentration ofMPA induced lower expression of HBsAg and HBeAg. The suppression rates of MPA for HBsAg andHBeAg at a concentration of 50 μg/ml were 34.2% and 24.1% respectively. The expression of HBVDNA was only 49% as compared with controls when treated with MPA at a concentration of 50 μg/***: Mycophenolate acid can suppress the expression of HBsAg and HBeAg as well as thereplication of HBV DNA in the 2.2.15 cell. The suppressive degree is dose-dependent.

Antitumor effect of immunization with fusion of dendritic cells and hepatocellular carcinoma cells in mice

BACKGROUND: Important advances have made within the past few years in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), however, the long-term prognosis after resection of HCC remains unsatisfactory as a result of a high incidence of recurrence. This study was to investigate immunization with fusions of DCs and HCC cells against HCC tumors transplanted to mice.METHODS: Fusion cells of dendritic cells (DCs) and H22 cells were prepared with polyethylene glycol. Expression of MHC and costimulatory molecules by dendritomas were determined by FACs. To study the antitumor immune preventitive and therapeutic effects, fusions were subcutaneously injected into naive or tumor-bearing mice; the CTL activity was assumed by the LDH method, and the expression of tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interferon-gamma(IFN-gamma) in tumors were assayed by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).RESULTS: The hybridomas of DCs and H22 cells acquired both DCs and H22 cells phenotypes. Immunization of BALB/C mice with DC/H22 fusions induced protective immunity against a high dose of H22 tumor challenge. After treatment with hybridomas, the survival time of tumor-bearing mice was extended. The expression level of TNF-alpha and IFN-gamma mRNA was markedly increased.CONCLUSION: The hybridomas of DCs and H22 cells could induce effective antitumor immune responses and may be potentially used in prevention and management of recurrence and metastasis of HCC.

Influence of network structure on spreading dynamics via tie range

There are various phenomena of malicious information spreading in the real society, which cause many negative impacts on the society. In order to better control the spreading, it is crucial to reveal the influence of network structure on network spreading. Motifs, as fundamental structures within a network, play a significant role in spreading. Therefore, it is of interest to investigate the influence of the structural characteristics of basic network motifs on spreading *** the edges of the basic network motifs in an undirected network correspond to different tie ranges, two edge removal strategies are proposed, short ties priority removal strategy and long ties priority removal strategy. The tie range represents the second shortest path length between two connected nodes. The study focuses on analyzing how the proposed strategies impact network spreading and network structure, as well as examining the influence of network structure on network spreading. Our findings indicate that the long ties priority removal strategy is most effective in controlling network spreading, especially in terms of spread range and spread velocity. In terms of network structure, the clustering coefficient and the diameter of network also have an effect on the network spreading, and the triangular structure as an important motif structure effectively inhibits the spreading.
