This paper focuses on developing an online structural condition assessment technique using long-term monitoring data measured by a structural health monitoring system. The seasonal correlations of frequency-temperature and beam-end displacement-temperature for the Runyang Suspension Bridge are performed, first. Then, a statistical modeling technique using a six-order polynomial is further applied to formulate the correlations of frequency-temperature and displacement-temperature, from which abnormal changes of measured frequencies and displacements are detected using the mean value control chart. Analysis results show that modal frequencies of higher vibration modes and displacements have remarkable seasonal correlations with the environmental temperature and the proposed method exhibits a good capability for detecting the micro damage-induced changes of modal frequencies and displacements. The results demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively eliminate temperature complications from frequency and displacement time series and is well suited for online condition monitoring of long-span suspension bridges.

A nonlinear dynamic analysis model is estabilished on the basis of 'lumped mass' approach, which takes the influence of the fluid flow within the pipe into consideration. Numerical results are compared with the published works, and the effects of internal fluid flow, internal pressure, dyanmics as well as the nonlinear characteristics on the behavior of flexible risers are discussed. From this work, some useful conclusions are drawn.

The permanent siltation of harbours and estuaries has led their administrative companies to undertake dredging operations in order to guarantee a minimal water depth required for free access to port infrastructures. This long and expensive work interferes with the port trade. Dredged material is injected into the sea with the creation of a maritime dump or stocked on earth in basins. In each case, there will be a formation of a high water content soil. This paper deals with the geotechnical formation of high water content soils by means of an experimental laboratory sedimentation/consolidation bench. We have devised and realized a controlled bench which allows us to analyze the natural soil formation under self weight. The tested soil settles in sedimentation/consolidation columns (1.5 m. in height, 100 mm in diameter). Pressure and density measurements in the tested soil are possible on the whole height of the vertical column. Values of density are obtained by gamma-densimetry. The precision of the measurements is +/-0.5% for the density and +/-3 Pa for the pressures. Each test is performed over 32 days with 17 intermediate times. An originality of this bench lies in the fact that it allows measurements with a good precision in density and pressure at a very early state of soil formation (first values at 1 .33 min. from the beginning of the test). The test we are presenting concerned the natural mud found in the Loire estuary (France) prepared to an initial concentration of 200 g/ 1 (density 1. 135). These measurements are studied in terms of evolution of total stress, excess pore pressure, void ratio and effective stress as related to time. For this test, we present the density and pressure measured profiles as well as the deduced effective stress curves, paths of particles and rates of consolidation. On a void ratio versus effective stress diagram, we clearly show the evolution of soil consolidating under self weight during the intermediate phase of its formation

预估叶片出水边的涡旋脱流频率的经验公式是基于斯特拉哈数以及发表于二十世纪五六十年代论文上的大量实验结果。通过这些试验总结了一些公式，通常还将其用于固定导叶、活动导叶以及转轮（叶轮）叶片出水边几何形状的具体设计。在Φyvind Antonsen的硕士论文中，作者对具有不同几何形状出水边的平板进行二维和三维的CFD模拟。这篇文章简要叙述了他在硕士学习中所作的数值模拟工作，并且将结果和以前的试验进行了比较。这篇文章的目的是判定是否能根据CFD模拟来预测这些涡流的频率和振幅。通过和以前发表的数据进行比较，似乎表明即便是二维模拟也可以较好地预测频率。考虑到三维模拟在时间方面需要更多的计算工作，这个结论本身就是一个很有趣的结果。大多数试验针对有翼型出水边的平板。但本次模拟计算不仅在平板上进行，并且也在实际的固定导叶上进行，结果略微有些不同。这些计算频率和文献【2】中给出的带有微小调整的试验公式吻合得非常好。至于振幅，模拟结果就难以解释了。原本希望振幅也像频率一样可以找到一些类似的经验公式。但正如我们所知道的，很少有作者能这样成功地处理振幅。一般的处理方法是在设计叶片出水边时都假定高频率对应有低振幅。这就暗含着一种假设，即脉动中持续的能量与频率无关。通过量纲分析，这篇文章提出了一种对试验结果进行调查研究的建议，为解决该问题提供了帮助。
