Multi-area Frequency-constrained Unit Commitment for Power Systems with High Penetration of Renewable Energy Sources and Induction Machine Load

The increasing penetration of renewable energy sources(RESs) brings great challenges to the frequency security of power systems. The traditional frequency-constrained unit commitment(FCUC) analyzes frequency by simplifying the average system frequency and ignoring numerous induction machines(IMs) in load, which may underestimate the risk and increase the operational cost. In this paper, we consider a multiarea frequency response(MAFR) model to capture the frequency dynamics in the unit scheduling problem, in which regional frequency security and the inertia of IM load are modeled with high-dimension differential algebraic equations. A multi-area FCUC(MFCUC) is formulated as mixed-integer nonlinear programming(MINLP) on the basis of the MAFR model. Then, we develop a multi-direction decomposition algorithm to solve the MFCUC efficiently. The original MINLP is decomposed into a master problem and subproblems. The subproblems check the nonlinear frequency dynamics and generate linear optimization cuts for the master problem to improve the frequency security in its optimal solution. Case studies on the modified IEEE 39-bus system and IEEE 118-bus system show a great reduction in operational costs. Moreover, simulation results verify the ability of the proposed MAFR model to reflect regional frequency security and the available inertia of IMs in unit scheduling.

Co-altered pathways refer to the phenomenon where multiple biological pathways exhibit aberrant changes simultaneously within the same tumor sample.This phenomenon can facilitate a better understanding of the mechanism and evolution of tumors and serve as a biological marker for diagnosing,classifying,and treating tumors.1 However,the nature of alteration occurrence and the impact on pancreatic adenocarcinoma(PAAD)remain elusive.The SELECT algorithm was originally designed to systematically assess the evolutionary dependencies and their impact between altered genes in cancer for anticipating drug resistance and proposing alternative strategies.Here,to better characterize the etiology of PAAD and develop an improved risk assessment strategy,2 by utilizing SELECT,we identified a co-altered pathway subgroup of PAAD that demonstrated an elevated risk for unfavorable prognosis,a propensity for liver metastasis,and an immunologically cold microenvironment.

Improving the application of nanomaterials has always been a research hotspot in the field of energetic materials(EMs)due to their obvious catalytic effect on the EMs,especially the uniformly dispersed nanomaterials.However,few studies have reported the dispersion of nanomaterials.In this study,the dispersity and mixing uniformity of nano-CuCr_(2)O_(4)was evaluated based on the difference of solid UV light absorption between the nano-catalytic materials and EMs.The nano-CuCr_(2)O_(4)/ultrafine AP composites with different dispersity of nano-CuCr_(2)O_(4)were prepared by manual grinding and mechanical grinding with different grinding strength and griding time.And then,the absorbance of different samples at 212 nm was obtained by solid UV testing due to the high repeatability of the absorbance at 210-214 nm for three parallel experiments,and the dispersity of different samples was calculated through the established difference equation.Furthermore,the samples were characterized by XRD,IR,SEM,EDS,DSC and TG-MS,which confirmed that different mixing methods did not change the structure of the samples(XRD and IR),and the mixing uniformity improved with the increase of grinding strength and grinding time(SEM and EDS).The scientificity and feasibility of the difference equation were further verified by DSC.The dispersity of nano-CuCr_(2)O_(4)exhibits a positive intrinsic relationship with its catalytic performance,and the uniformly dispersed nano-CuCr_(2)O_(4)significantly reduces the thermal decomposition temperature of ultrafine AP from 367.7 to 338.8℃.The TG-MS patterns show that the dispersed nano-CuCr_(2)O_(4)advanced the thermal decomposition process of ultrafine AP by about 700 s,especially in the high temperature decomposition stage,and the more concentrated energy release characteristic is beneficial to further enhance the energy performance of AP-based propellants.The above conclusions show that the evaluation method of dispersity based on solid UV curves could provide new ideas for the dispersity characterizati

Acute hypobaric hypoxic brain damage is a potentially fatal high-altitude sickness.Autophagy plays a critical role in ischemic brain injury,but its role in hypo-baric hypoxia(HH)remains unknown.Here we used an HH chamber to demonstrate that acute HH exposure impairs autophagic activity in both the early and late stages of the mouse brain,and is partially responsible for HH-induced oxidative stress,neuronal loss,and brain damage.The autophagic agonist rapamycin only promotes the initiation of autophagy.By proteome analysis,a screen showed that protein dynamin2(DNM2)potentially regulates autophagic flux.Overexpression of DNM2 significantly increased the formation of autolysosomes,thus maintaining autophagic flux in combination with rapamycin.Furthermore,the enhancement of autophagic activity attenuated oxidative stress and neurological deficits after HH exposure.These results contribute to evidence supporting the conclusion that DNM2-mediated autophagic flux represents a new therapeutic target in HH-induced brain damage.

Stimuli-responsive luminescent materials have attracted significant attention in the development of smart photoactive materials for both fundamental research and technological applications.In this work,a new copper iodide cluster(1)with aggregationinduced emission(AIE)characteristic,was obtained combining Cu_(4)I_(4) core with rhodamine B derivative ligand.1 has reversible and distinct multi-stimuli-responsive luminescence for external temperature,volatile organic compound,and mechanical force.Significantly,1 exhibited unusual large blue shift(84 nm)after being ground,which originated from the change of intermolecular interactions.Moreover,1 exhibits high oxygen quenching efficiency for 82.2% at 1 bar.Mechanistic studies showed that the multi-stimuli-responsive luminescence properties of 1 can be attributed to the regulation of cluster-centered luminescence process,metal-to-ligand charge transfer process,halide-to-metal charge transfer luminescence process and aggregationinduced barrier to oxygen process.This work not only reports an AIE copper iodide cluster,but also provides a new strategy to develop multi-stimuli-responsive luminescence materials.

In this paper,we study the following critical elliptic problem with a variable exponent:{-Δu=u^(p+ϵa(x))inΩ,u>0 inΩ,u=0 on∂Ω,where a(x)2∈C^(2)(Ω),p=N+2/N-2,∈>0,andΩis a smooth bounded domain in R^(N)(N>4).We show that for∈small enough,there exists a family of bubble solutions concentrating at the negative stable critical point of the function a(x).This is a new perturbation to the critical elliptic equation in contrast to the usual subcritical or supercritical perturbation,and gives the first existence result for the critical elliptic problem with a variable exponent.

In this paper,the authors study the asymptotically linear elliptic equation on manifold with conical singularities-ΔBu+λu=a(z)f(u),u≥0 in R+N,where N=n+1≥3,λ>0,z=(t,x_(1),…,x_(n)),and ΔB=(t■t)^(2)+■^(2)x_(1)+…+■^(2)x_(n).Combining properties of cone-degenerate operator,the Pohozaev manifold and qualitative properties of the ground state solution for the limit equation,we obtain a positive solution under some suitable conditions on a and f.

Plant disease recognition is of vital importance to monitor plant development and predicting crop production.However,due to data degradation caused by different conditions of image acquisition,e.g.,laboratory vs.field environment,machine learning-based recognition models generated within a specific dataset(source domain)tend to lose their validity when generalized to a novel dataset(target domain).To this end,domain adaptation methods can be leveraged for the recognition by learning invariant representations across domains.In this paper,we aim at addressing the issues of domain shift existing in plant disease recognition and propose a novel unsupervised domain adaptation method via uncertainty regularization,namely,Multi-Representation Subdomain Adaptation Network with Uncertainty Regularization for Cross-Species Plant Disease Classification(MSUN).Our simple but effective MSUN makes a breakthrough in plant disease recognition in the wild by using a large amount of unlabeled data and via nonadversarial training.Specifically,MSUN comprises multirepresentation,subdomain adaptation modules and auxiliary uncertainty regularization.The multirepresentation module enables MSUN to learn the overall structure of features and also focus on capturing more details by using the multiple representations of the source domain.This effectively alleviates the problem of large interdomain discrepancy.Subdomain adaptation is used to capture discriminative properties by addressing the issue of higher interclass similarity and lower intraclass variation.Finally,the auxiliary uncertainty regularization effectively suppresses the uncertainty problem due to domain transfer.MSUN was experimentally validated to achieve optimal results on the PlantDoc,Plant-Pathology,Corn-Leaf-Diseases,and Tomato-Leaf-Diseases datasets,with accuracies of 56.06%,72.31%,96.78%,and 50.58%,respectively,surpassing other state-of-the-art domain adaptation techniques considerably.
