Interpretation and characterization of rate of penetration intelligent prediction model

Accurate prediction of the rate of penetration(ROP)is significant for drilling *** the intelligent ROP prediction model based on fully connected neural networks(FNN)outperforms traditional ROP equations and machine learning algorithms,its lack of interpretability undermines its *** study proposes a novel interpretation and characterization method for the FNN ROP prediction model using the Rectified Linear Unit(ReLU)activation *** leveraging the derivative of the ReLU function,the FNN function calculation process is transformed into vector *** FNN model is linearly characterized through further simplification,enabling its interpretation and *** proposed method is applied in ROP prediction scenarios using drilling data from three vertical wells in the Tarim *** results demonstrate that the FNN ROP prediction model with ReLU as the activation function performs exceptionally *** relative activation frequency curve of hidden layer neurons aids in analyzing the overfitting of the FNN ROP model and determining drilling data *** the well sections with similar drilling data,averaging the weight parameters enables linear characterization of the FNN ROP prediction model,leading to the establishment of a corresponding linear representation ***,the quantitative analysis of each feature's influence on ROP facilitates the proposal of drilling parameter optimization schemes for the current well *** established linear characterization equation exhibits high precision,strong stability,and adaptability through the application and validation across multiple well sections.

The research involves the addition of 5 vol.%TiB_(2)particles into AA8009 alloy powder to synthesize TiB_(2)/AA8009 composite parts produced via laser powder bed fusion(LPBF).The addition of the TiB_(2)particles causes the TiB_(2)/AA8009 composites with and without annealing have lower compressive strength than AA8009 alloy due to the change of the strengthening *** results further indicated that solid solution strengthening was the main strengthening mechanism of the LPBF AA8009 alloy at room temperature whereas Orowan strengthening became the primary strengthening factor after annealing at 673 *** contrast,Orowan strengthening always remained the main strengthening mechanism for the TiB_(2)/AA8009 composite,irrespective of the annealing *** addition,after annealing of the LPBF parts at 673 K,the compressive yield strength(CYS)of the unblended AA8009 alloy specimens had a~2.5 times greater reduction(from 705±16 to 459±30 MPa)compared to that of the composite TiB_(2)/AA8009 samples(from 466±23 to 368±3 MPa).Therefore,TiB_(2)particles can suppress the drop in yield strength of LPBF AA8009 alloy below 673 K,providing a theoretical and experimental basis for the applications of both LPBF AA8009 and TiB_(2)/AA8009 alloys at low and medium temperatures.

Patterns and mechanisms of belowground carbon responses to changes in precipitation

It is well known that aboveground productivity usually increases with ***,how belowground carbon(C)processes respond to changes in precipitation remains elusive,although belowground net primary productivity(BNPP)represents more than one-half of NPP and soil stores the largest terrestrial C in the *** paper reviews the patterns of belowground C processes(BNPP and soil C)in response to changes in precipitation from transect studies,manipulative experiments,modeling and data integration and *** results suggest the possible existence of nonlinear patterns of BNPP and soil C in response to changes in precipitation,which is largely different from linear response for aboveground productivity.C allocation,root turnover time and species composition may be three key processes underlying mechanisms of the nonlinear responses to changes in precipitation for belowground C *** addition,microbial community structure and long-term ecosystem processes(*** assemblage,soil texture,aggregate stability)may also affect patterns of belowground C processes in response to changes in *** last,we discuss implications and future perspectives for potential nonlinear responses of belowground C processes to changes in precipitation.

Paradigm for Determining the Optimal Ultradeep and Superthick Saline Aquifer for High-TDS Mine Water Geological Storage

Saline aquifers are the most popular waste and CO_(2)injection and storage reservoirs *** project proposes that several optimal injection positions should be investigated as hydraulic pressure-focused positions,in order to relieve the high demands of pump *** comprehensive indices(F_(i))representing the injectivity of different burial depths were obtained by using information entropy,based on the mercury injection experimental data of 13 rock *** results demonstrated that the burial depths of No.4,No.1 and No.2 in the Liujiagou Formation were the most suitable positions for hydraulic focused injection,which means the upper 30 m thickness could be regarded as the hydraulic focused range in the saline aquifer with an average thickness of 400 *** addition,some laboratory experiments and in situ tests were carried out for the purpose of certifying and analyzing results,including SEM,XRD,brittleness index and *** results suggested that the rock samples at the No.4,No.1 and No.2 burial depth ranges have loose microstructure,weak cementation,as well as dual pores and *** lithology is mainly quartz and feldspar,but the clay mineral content is high(10%-25%),which is positive for *** lithology is suitable for hydraulic fracturing to form extended cracks and micro-fissures during high-TDS(total dissolved solids)mine water injection,because of the high brittleness ***,a theoretical and technical framework for high-TDS mine water injection was established,based on operating pilot *** theoretical defects and drawbacks learned from the field practices were summarized and solutions *** research in this study could provide guidance and a paradigm for the inexpensive treatment of high-TDS mine water by injection and storage.

Role of polarization evolution in the hysteresis effect of Pb-based antiferroelecrtics

The electric field-induced irreversible domain wall motion results in a ferroelectric(FE) hysteresis. In antiferroelectrics(AFEs), the irreversible phase transition is the main reason for the hysteresis effects, which plays an important role in energy storage performance. Compared to the well-demonstrated FE hysteresis,the structural mechanism of the hysteresis in AFE is not well understood. In this work, the underlying correlation between structure and the hysteresis effect is unveiled in Pb(Zr,Sn,Ti)O_(3) AFE system by using in-situ electrical biasing synchrotron X-ray diffraction. It is found that the AFE with a canting dipole configuration, which shows a continuous polarization rotation under the electric field, tends to have a small hysteresis effect. It presents a negligible phase transition, a small axis ratio, and electric field-induced lattice changing, small domain switching. All these features together lead to a slim hysteresis loop and a high energy storage efficiency. These results offer a deep insight into the structure-hysteresis relationship of AFEs and are helpful for the design of energy storage material.

The high mortality rate in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is partially due to the fact that a significant number of patients are diagnosed at an intermediate or advanced stage,with surgical treatment options *** therapy,which involves both locoregional and systemic treatments,has the potential to downstage tumors in selected patients with initially unresectable HCC,thereby making surgical treatment a possibility and potentially increasing long-term *** optimize the conversion rate,it is necessary to maximize successful conversions and clearly define the target population for conversion treatment through a collaborative *** this review article,we summarize the clinical experience and evidence for conversion therapy in patients with‘potentially resectable’HCC from four perspectives:1)defining the target population for conversion therapy,2)selecting the appropriate conversion strategy,placing emphasis on the utilization of combination therapy that exhibits a significant objective response rate,3)determining the timing and urgency of surgical resection,4)promoting the adoption of a multidisciplinary team *** authors are optimistic that with the continuous progress in treatment and a deeper understanding of HCC,the success rate of HCC conversion therapy will increase,and the overall survival of HCC patients will be prolonged.

Sulfide solid electrolytes(SEs)have attracted ever-increasing attention due to their superior roomtemperature ionic conductivity(~10^(-2) S cm^(-1)).Additionally,the integration of sulfide SEs and highvoltage cathodes is promising to achieve higher energy ***,the incompatible interfaces between sulfide SEs and high-voltage cathodes have been one of the key factors limiting their ***,this review presents a critical summarization of the interfacial issues in all-solid-state lithium batteries based on sulfide SEs and high-voltage cathodes and proposes strategies to stabilize the electrolyte/cathode ***,the future research direction of electrolyte/cathode interfaces and application prospects of powder technology in sulfide-based ASSLBs were also discussed.

Unraveling the mechanism of potassium metal capacitor for highly efficient charge storage

Although hybrid metal ion capacitors(MICs) are highly desired to achieve both high power density of supercapacitors and high energy density of rechargeable batteries, the mismatch problem of electrochemical kinetics of negative and positive electrodes in MICs hampers the realization of this goal. Here, a new hybrid capacitor concept-potassium metal capacitor(PMC) is proposed for the first time, where potassium metal and commercial activated carbon(AC) without any modification are applied as negative and positive electrodes, respectively, and the electrolyte is the same as that of non-aqueous potassium ion batteries. The simplest PMC prototype exhibits a good combination of high energy density(184.9 Wh kg^(-1)) and power density(12.4 kW kg^(-1)), which benefits from the synergistic effect of potassium metal and AC electrode. The former experiences fast potassium plating/striping during charging and discharging, and the later possesses complex multiple charge behaviors driven by low potential of potassium metal. Specifically, below open-circuit voltage, transportation of solvated cations in AC pores plays an important role;beyond this voltage, synergy actions of cations and anions, including adsorption/desorption of solvated cations and anions, and ions exchange between them, dominate the capacitance contribution. This work enriches the types of MICs, and deepens the understanding of the energy storage mechanism of non-aqueous hybrid metal capacitors.

Enhanced mechanical property by introducing bimodal grains structures in Cu-Ta alloys fabricated by mechanical alloying

Dispersion-strengthened copper alloys can achieve ultra-high strength,but usually at the expense of *** this study,a strategy for overcoming strength-ductility tradeoffof Cu alloys is realized through the introduction of bimodal grains ***-Ta alloys with only 0.5 at.%Ta content were successfully prepared by mechanical alloying combined with spark plasm *** samples prepared by one-step and two-step ball milling methods are named as Cu-Ta(Ⅰ)and Cu-Ta(Ⅱ),*** microstructural characterizations revealed that ultra-fine equiaxed grains with uniformly dispersed Ta precipitates were obtained in the Cu-Ta *** strength of 377 MPa for yield strength together with elongation of∼8%was obtained in Cu-Ta(Ⅰ).Bimodal grains structures composed of fine-grain zones and coarse-grain zones were successfully introduced into Cu-Ta(Ⅱ)by a two-step ball milling approach,and both yield strength(463 MPa)and elongation(∼15%)were significantly synergistic *** hardness values of both Cu-Ta(Ⅰ)and Cu-Ta(Ⅱ)were almost kept nearly constant with the increase of annealing time,and the softening temperatures of Cu-Ta(Ⅰ)and Cu-Ta(Ⅱ)are 1018 and 1013℃,reaching 93.9%and 93.5%T m of pure Cu(1083℃),*** reveals that the Cu-0.5 at.%Ta alloys exhibit excellent thermal stability and exceptional softening *** nanoclusters with semi-coherent structures play an essential role in enhancing the strength and microstructural stability of *** structures are beneficial to the activation of back stress strengthening and the initiation and propagation of microcracks,thus obtaining the extraordinary combination of strength and *** study provides a new way to fabricate dispersion-strengthened Cu alloys with high strength,high elongation,excellent thermal stability and softening resistance,which have potential application value in the field of the future fusion reactor.
