Synthesis and characterization of rare earth metal doped tungsten trioxide photocatalyst for degradation of Rhodamine B dye

Nowadays,it is concern for researchers that due to high recombination rate of photogenerated charge carriers in tungsten trioxide(WO_(3)) nanoparticles,the future applications are limited in the field of *** we attempt to synthesize tungsten trioxide nanoparticles with different doping concentrations of lanthanum i.e.2 wt%,4 wt%,6 wt% and 8 wt%.The synthesized samples were characterized by using various characterization techniques:X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),photoluminescence spectra(PL),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) and UV-Vis ***_(3) retains its monoclinic structure even after doping which was confirmed by XRD *** helps to descry functional groups present in the *** size of nanoparticles was calculated by using *** confirms the absence of any impurity in the synthesized *** spectroscopy confirms the presence of a large number of imperfections induced in the lattice of WO_(3).The rate of recombination was analyzed by photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy and is minimum in 4 wt% doping of *** optical bandgap was calculated using UV-Vis spectroscopy and becomes narrow along with the doping ***,it is found that doping of La in WO_(3) has considerably ameliorate the photocatalytic activity by reducing rate of recombination due to the trapping of electrons by defects introduced in the *** decolorization of Rhodamine B(RhB) dye was performed and the values of c/c_0 and rate constant(k) confirm that the 4 wt% doping shows maximum degradation *** kinetic study for photodegradation of Rhodamine B was done by using various kinetic models and results show that the reaction follows first order kinetics very ***,optimum doping of lanthanum increases the decolorization ability of WO_(3) towards RhB dye.

Hybridization between salt resistant and salt susceptible genotypes of mungbean(Vigna radiata ***)and purity testing of the hybrids using SSRs markers

Six cultivated and two wild genotypes of mungbean（Vigna radiata L. Wilczek） possessing variation for phenotypic and genotypic response for salt tolerance were hybridized. Hybridization results showed successful pod set and significant variations in cross-compatibility of investigated genotypes. Genotypes PLM 380 and PLM 562 showed promising combining ability with all genotypes. Results revealed significant crossing compatibility between V. radiata and V. sublobata. The cross ability ranged from 1.99 to 5.12%（average 3.08%）. Molecular analysis confirmed the hybrids purity. All F_1 seeds were bold, green/shiny green and germinated between 3 to 5 days. Hybrid plants were normal, fertile and healthier over their respective progenitors. Uniform flowering and maturity of the hybrids showed absence of any defect or alteration in plant habit and life cycle of the hybrids. The hybrid plants showed increase in yield characteristics as no. of pods, pod length, 100 seeds weight, and yield per plant. Number of pods containing F_2 seeds ranged from 5–8 per cluster. The F_2 seeds were collected and stored for further research. Present study suggests that salt resistant wild relatives or cultivars of mungbean can be explored by breeding as a source of useful traits/genes providing salt tolerance. This may help in development of best mungbean variety for saline prone areas. Micro-satellite markers linked to the trait/genes may assist breeding by early selection of the genotypes compared to the phenotypic screening.

Multi-temporal forest cover dynamics in Kashmir Himalayan region for assessing deforestation and forest degradation in the context of REDD+ policy

The role of forests is being actively considered under the agenda of REDD＋（Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation plus） aimed at reducing emissions related to changes in forest cover and forest quality. Forests in general have undergone negative changes in the past in the form of deforestation and degradation, while in some countries positive changes are reported in the form of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stock. The present study in the Kashmir Himalayan forests is an effort to assess historical forest cover changes that took place from 1980 to 2009 and to predict the same for 2030 on the basis of past trend using geospatial modeling approach. Landsat data （Multispectral Scanner （MSS）, Thematic Mapper （TM） and Enhanced Thematic Mapper （ETM＋）） was used for the years 1980, 199o and （2001, 2009） respectively and change detection analysis between the dates was performed. The maps generated were validated through ground truthing. The study area （3375.62 km^2） from 1980-2009 has uffered deforestation and forest degradation of about 126 km^2 and 239.02 km^2 respectively which can be claimed under negative options of REDD＋, while as the area that experienced no change （1514 km^2） can be claimed under conservation. A small area （23.31 km^2） observed as positive change can be claimed under positive options. The projected estimates of forest cover for 2030 showed increased deforestation and forest degradation on the basis of trend analysis using Cellular Automata （CA） Markov modeling. Despite the fact that country as a whole has registered a net positive change in the past few decades, but there are regions like Kashmir region of western Himalaya which have constantly undergoing deforestation as well as degradation in the past few decades.

Landscape Characterization of Sariska National Park (India) and Its Surroundings

Landscape characterization gives an overall information on the status of Land Use and Land Cover （LULC）, changes in its composition and the impact of natural and human influences operating at different spatial and temporal scales. This information can be used to monitor changes in natural forest resources and protected areas, delineate potential conservation areas and can serve in effective management of ecologically fragile landscapes. In the present study, geo-spatial tools were used to characterize the landscape of Sariska National Park and its surroundings. Satellite data was used to prepare LULC maps for 1989 and 2000, change detection analysis and computation of landscape metrics. Climatic data, field records and modeling tools were used to map the potential spread of two invasive species, Prosopis juliflora and Adhatoda vasica. The results show that the forest area increased from 1989 to 2000, indicating better management practices. Landscape metrics （PAFRAC, PLADJ and AI） also support this argument. Improvements in the degraded forest can further enhance this effect. The entire reserve however is suitable for the invasion of P. juliflora and A. vasiea but is more pronounced in Boswellia serrata and Anogeissus pendula - Acacia catechu （open） forests. A detailed landscape characterization map can help forest managers to make important policy decisions concerning issues such as invasive species.

A high-resolution optically addressed spatial light modulator based on ZnO nanoparticles

An optically addressed spatial light modulator(OASLM)can modulate the wavefront of a read light by displaying a phase pattern or a hologram configured by the intensity distribution of a write *** ZnO nanoparticles(NPs)as a novel photoconductor,a high-resolution OASLM was fabricated.A ZnO NP suspension was spin-coated on an indium tin oxide(ITO)-coated glass substrate and annealed to form a photosensitive *** device was characterized electrically and *** device was operated at low driving voltages in the transmission *** recording of a diffraction grating up to 825 lp mm^(-1) with a diffraction efficiency(DE)of 0.05%and binary holograms with pixel sizes from 2 mm down to 0.72 mm were demonstrated using a 405 nm wavelength write laser and a 635 nm wavelength read laser.

Ethnomedicinal, phytochemical and pharmacological updates on Hygrophila auriculata (Schum.) Hiene： an overview

This article explores the most recent evidence-based information on ethnomedicinal, phytochemical and pharmacological understanding of Hygrophila auriculata for the treatment of various diseases and health conditions. Various ethnomedicinal writings suggest the use of the plant or its parts for the treatment of jaundice, oedema, gastrointestinal ailments, diarrhoea, dysentery, urinogenital disorder, gall stones, urinary calculi, kidney stone, leucorrhoea, rheumatism, tuberculosis, anaemia, body pain, constipation, skin disease, and as an aphrodisiac. The plant has been reported to contain flavonoids （apigenin, luteolin, ellagic acid, gallic acid and quercetin）, alkaloids （asteracanthine and asteracanthicine）, triterpenes （lupeol, lupenone, hentricontane and betulin）, sterols （stigmasterol and asterol）, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, aliphatic esters and essential oils. Extracts and bioactive compounds from the plant have been found to possess antimicrobial, anthelmintic, antitermite, nephroprotective, hepatoprotective, central nervous system protective, antitumour, antidiabetic, anticataract, antioxidant, haematopoietic, diuretic, antinociceptive, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antimotility, aphrodisiac, neuroprotection, anti- endotoxin and anti-urolithiatic activities. For this paper, we reviewed patents, clinical studies, analytical studies and marketed formulations from the earliest found examples from 1887 to the end of 2017.

Prediction of BRIC Stock Price Using ARIMA,SutteARIMA,and Holt-Winters

The novel coronavirus has played a disastrous role in many countries *** outbreak became a major epidemic,engulfing the entire world in lockdown and it is now speculated that its economic impact might be worse than economic deceleration and *** paper identifies two different models to capture the trend of closing stock prices in Brazil(BVSP),Russia(***),India(BSESN),and China(SSE),i.e.,(BRIC)*** predict the stock prices for three daily time periods,so appropriate preparations can be undertaken to solve these ***,we compared the ARIMA,SutteARIMA and Holt-Winters(H-W)methods to determine the most effective model for predicting *** stock closing price of BRIC country data was obtained from Yahoo *** data dates from 01 November 2019 to 11 December 2020,then divided into two categories-training data and test *** data covers 01 November 2019 to 02 December *** days(03December 2020 to 11December 2020)of datawas tested to determine the accuracy of the models using training data as a *** measure the accuracy of the models,we obtained the means absolute percentage error(MAPE)and mean square error(MSE).Prediction model Holt-Winters was found to be the most suitable for forecasting the Brazil stock price(BVSP)while MAPE(0.50)and MSE(579272.65)with Holt-Winters(smaller than ARIMA and SutteARIMA),model SutteARIMA was found most appropriate to predict the stock prices of Russia(***),India(BSESN),and China(SSE)when compared to ARIMA and *** andMSE with SutteARIMA:Russia(MAPE:0.7;MSE:940.20),India(MAPE:0.90;MSE:207271.16),and China(MAPE:0.72;MSE:786.28).Finally,Holt-Winters predicted the daily forecast values for the Brazil stock price(BVSP)(12 December to 14 December 2020 i.e.,115757.6,116150.9 and 116544.1),while SutteARIMA predicted the daily forecast values of Russia stock prices(***)(12 December to 14 December 2020 i.e.,3238.06,3241.54 and 3245.01),India stock price(BSESN)(

QTL analysis for some quantitative traits in bread wheat

Quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis was conducted in bread wheat for 14 important traits utilizing data from four different mapping populations involving different approaches of QTL analysis. Analysis for grain protein content (GPC) sug- gested that the major part of genetic variation for this trait is due to environmental interactions. In contrast, pre-harvest sprouting tolerance (PHST) was controlled mainly by main effect QTL (M-QTL) with very little genetic variation due to environmental interactions; a major QTL for PHST was detected on chromosome arm 3AL. For grain weight, one QTL each was detected on chromosome arms 1AS, 2BS and 7AS. QTL for 4 growth related traits taken together detected by different methods ranged from 37 to 40; nine QTL that were detected by single-locus as well as two-locus analyses were all M-QTL. Similarly, single-locus and two-locus QTL analyses for seven yield and yield contributing traits in two populations respectively allowed detection of 25 and 50 QTL by composite interval mapping (CIM), 16 and 25 QTL by multiple-trait composite interval mapping (MCIM) and 38 and 37 QTL by two-locus analyses. These studies should prove useful in QTL cloning and wheat improvement through marker aided selection.

Inkjet printing of two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenide(TMD)nanosheets fabricated by liquid-phase exfoliation(LPE)allows simple,mass-producible,and low-cost photo-electronic *** LPE processes involve toxic and environmentally hazardous solvents;however,dispersants have restricted the extent of applications of 2D-TMD ***,various 2D-TMD nanosheets,including MoS2,MoSe2,WS2,and WSe2,in addition to few-layered graphene,are inkjet-printed using a LPE process based on zwitterionic dispersants in *** with cationic and anionic species are water-soluble,while alkyl chain moieties associated with two ionic species adhere universally on the surface of TMD nanosheets,resulting in high throughput liquid exfoliation of the *** zwitterion-assisted TMD nanosheets in water are successtully employed as an ink without the need for additives to adjust the viscosity and surface tension of the ink for use in an office inkjet printer;this gives rise to A4 scale,large-area inkjet-printed images on diverse substrates,such as metals,oxides,and polymer substrates patchable onto human *** with conductive graphene nanosheet inks allowed the development of mechanically flexible,biocompatible-printed arrays of photodetectors with pixelated MoSe2 channels on a paper exhibiting a photocurrent ON/OFF ratio of approximately 1038 and photocurrent switching of 500 ms.
