The role of Toll-like receptors(TLRs)in pathogen recognition has been expeditiously advanced in recent ***,investigations into the function of TLRs in non-infectious tissue injury have just ***,we andothers have demonstrated that fragmented hyaluronan(HA)accumulates during tissue ***44 is required to clearHA during tissue injury,and impaired clearance of HA results in unremitting ***,fragmentedHA stimulates the expression of inflammatory genes by inflammatory cells at the injury ***,we identified thatHA fragments require both TLR2 and TLR4 to stimulate mouse macrophages to produce inflammatory chemokines *** a non-infectious lung injury model,mice deficient in both TLR2 and TLR4 show an impaired transepithelialmigration of inflammatory cells,increased tissue injury,elevated lung epithelial cell apoptosis,and decreased *** epithelial cell overexpression of high molecular mass HA protected mice against acute lung injury and apoptosis,in part through TLR-dependent basal activation of NF-κ*** exaggerated injury in TLR2 and TLR4 deficient miceappears to be due to impaired HA-TLR interactions on epithelial *** studies identify that host matrix componentHA and TLR interactions provide signals that initiate inflammatory responses,maintain epithelial cell integrity,andpromote recovery from acute lung injury.

大白鼠屈跖肌可因协同肌切除而引起代偿性肥大,本文以这一实验模式研究了在肌肉肥大的发展过程中,蛋白质合成速度与肌纤维成份的变化。屈跖肌的重量在手术切除腓肠肌后的第2,5、15和50天时分别增加了11、33.33和104%。肌组织蛋白的合成速度在早期未发现有变化,肌球蛋白的合成速度甚至有所降低,但在第15天与50天时,肌组织蛋白合成速度分别提高了31%和150%,肌球蛋白合成速度也分别提高了48%和52%。蛋白质在肌肉中的总含量在此期间亦相应增加。屈跖肌中慢收缩肌纤维所占比例从正常情况下的10%,提高到25%左右。以上观察表明,在骨髂肌代偿性肥大的发展过程中,蛋白质合成速度的提高是肌肉中蛋白质积累与肌纤维类型转化的主要因素,这一适应性变化过程在负荷后15天才开始明显表现出来,50天后已达到新的稳定阶段。

Improving the catalytic activity of non-noble metal single atom catalysts(SACs)has attracted considerable attention in materials *** optimizing the local electronic structure of single atom can greatly improve their catalytic activity,it often involves in-plane modulation and requires high ***,we report a novel strategy to manipulate the local electronic structure of SACs via the modulation of axial Co-S bond anchored onto graphitic carbon nitride(C_(3)N_(4))at room temperature(RT).Each Co atom is bonded to four N atoms and one S atom(Co-(N,S)/C_(3)N_(4)).Owing to the greater electronegativity of S in the Co-S bond,the local electronic structure of the Co atoms is available to be controlled at a relatively moderate ***,when employed for the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction,the adsorption energy of intermediate hydrogen(H*)on the Co atoms is remarkably *** the presence of the Co-(N,S)/C_(3)N_(4)SACs,the hydrogen evolution rates reach up to 10 mmol/(g·h),which is nearly 10 and 2.5 times greater than the rates in the presence of previously reported transition metal/C_(3)N_(4)and noble platinum nanoparticles(PtNPs)/C_(3)N_(4)catalysts,*** to the tailorable axial Co-S bond in the SAC,the local electronic structure of the Co atoms can be further optimized for other photocatalytic *** axial coordination engineering strategy is universal in catalyst designing and can be used for a variety of photocatalytic applications.

In this note, we provide a consistant thin layer theory for power law and Bingham incompressible fluids flowing down an inclined plane under the effect of gravity. The derivation of such equations is based on formal asymptotic expansions of solutions of Cauchy momentum equations in the shallow water scaling and in the neighbourhood of steady solutions so that we can close the average equations on the fluid height h and the total discharge rate q.

The study presented herein is the analysis of Sodar based instrument measurements of air temperature, dew point, and vertical wind speed and direction, recorded at two South Carolina sites, Waties Island in North Myrtle Beach and in Sumter, and at three atmospheric ground stations. Two of the ground stations are National Weather Service stations near the Sodars and one is a Coastal Carolina University Sea-Econet, as a part of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, MESO program, weather-sensor site on the Coastal Carolina University campus in Conway South Carolina. Objectives of this study are to establish specific values of winds, land and sea temperatures, precipitation and dew points associated with the changes induced by passages of the Sea Breeze Front, and to examine differences in the station-to-station incarnation of the Sea Breeze circulation. Variability from station to station in the nature and timing of Sea Breeze Front passage is found to be a function of relative proximity to the coast with Sea Breeze Front passage occurring earliest at the North Myrtle Beach site (the station at the coast), then at Sumter (~100 km inland) and finally Aiken at >100 km inland. Satellite based estimates of the percentages of onshore penetration distances from the coast are depicted. Wind vectors and air temperatures associated with onsets and passages of the Sea Breeze display robust wind fields directed onshore perpendicular to the coastline. Kinematical descriptors of the Sea Breeze wind particle motions are presented and display coherent stable elliptical motions during the late summer to early fall but are absent during the winter.

Since the discovery of the first carbon-based metal-free electrocatalysts(C-MFECs,i.e.,N-doped carbon nanotubes)for the oxygen reduction reaction in 2009,the field of C-MFECs has grown enormously over the last 10 years.C-MFECs,as alternatives to nonprecious transition metals and/or precious noble metal-based electrocatalysts,have been consistently demonstrated as efficient catalysts for oxygen reduction,oxygen evolution,hydrogen evolution,carbon dioxide reduction,nitrogen reduction,and many other(electro-)chemical *** research and development of C-MFECs have indicated their potential applications in fuel cells,metal-air batteries,and hydrogen generation through water oxidation as well as electrochemical production of various commodity chemicals,such as ammonia,alcohols,hydrogen peroxide,and other useful *** research and development of C-MFECs would surely revolutionize traditional energy conversion and storage technologies with minimal environmental *** this short review article,we summarize the journey of C-MFECs over the past 10 years with an emphasis on materials development and their structure-property characterization for applications in fuel cells and metal-air *** challenges and future prospects of this emerging field are also discussed.

Understanding the catalytic mechanism of non-noble transition metal electrocatalysts is crucial to designing high-efficiency,low-cost,and durable alternative electrocatalysts for water splitting which comprises the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).In this work,Se-NiSe_(2) hybrid nanosheets with a self-regulated ratio of ionic Se(I-Se) to elemental Se(E-Se) are designed on carbon cloth by solution synthesis and hydrothermal *** effects of the I-Se/E-Se ratios on the electrocatalytic characteristics in HER and OER are investigated systematically both experimentally and *** optimized bifunctional electrocatalyst needs overpotentials of only 133 mV to deliver an HER current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) and 350 mV to generate an OER current density of 100 mA cm^(-2) in1.0 mol L^(-1) *** on the density-functional theory calculation,surface-adsorbed E-Se is beneficial to optimizing the electron environment and the adsorption/desorption free energy of hydrogen/water of the hybrid catalyst,consequently facilitating the electrocatalytic water splitting *** is a proper I-Se/E-Se ratio to improve the catalytic activity and kinetics of the reaction and the optimized E-Se adsorption amount can balance the interactions between I-Se and E-Se,so that the catalyst can achieve appropriate Se-H binding and active site exposure for the excellent electrocatalytic *** demonstrate the practicality,the assembled symmetrical device can be powered by an AA battery to produce hydrogen and oxygen *** results provide a deeper understanding of the catalytic mechanism of transition metal selenides in water splitting and insights into the design of high-efficiency and low-cost electrocatalysts in energy-related applications.
