The Relationship between Fe Mineralization and Magnetic Basement Faults using Multifractal Modeling in the Esfordi and Behabad Areas(BMD), Central Iran

Multifractal modeling is a mathematical method for the separation of a high potential mineralized background from a non-mineralized background. The Concentration-Distance to Fault structures(C-DF) fractal model and the distribution of the known iron(Fe) deposits/mines seen in the Esfordi and Behabad 1:100,000 sheets from the Bafq region of central Iran are used to distinguish Fe mineralization based on their distance to magnetic basement structures and surface faults, separately, using airborne geophysical data and field surveys. Application of the C-DF fractal model for the classification of Fe mineralizations in the Esfordi and Behabad areas reveals that the main ones show a correlation with their distance from magnetic basement structures. Accordingly, the distances of Fe mineralizations with grades of Fe higher than 55%(43% < Fe ≤ 60%) are located at a distance of less than 1 km, whereas for surfacial faults with grades of 43% ≤ Fe ≤ 60%, the distances are 3162< DF ≤ 4365 m from the faults. Thus, there is a positive relationship between Fe mineralization and magnetic basement structures. Also, the proximity evidence of Precambrian high-grade Fe mineralization related to magnetic basement structures indicates syn-rifting tectonic events. Finally, this C-DF fractal model can be used for exploration of magmatic and hydrothermal ore deposits.

Performance characteristics of the airlift pump under vertical solid-water-gas flow conditions for conveying centimetric-sized coal particles

In this study,the installation of an airlift pump with inner diameter of 102 mm and length of 5.64 m was utilized to consider the conveying process of non-spherical coal particles with density of 1340 kg/m3 and graining 25-44.5 *** test results revealed that the magnitude of increase in the solid transport rate due to the changes in the three tested parameters between compressed air velocity,submergence ratio,and feeding coal possibility was not the same,which are stand in range of 20%,75%,and 40%,***,creating the optimal airlift pump performance is highly dependent on submergence *** importantly,we measured the solid volume fraction using the method of one-way valves in order to minimize the disadvantages of conventional devices,such as fast speed camera and conductivity ring *** results confirmed that the volume fraction of the solid phase in the transfer process was always less than 12%.To validate present experimental data,the existing empirical correlations together with the theoretical equations related to the multiphase flow was *** overall agreement between the theory and experimental solid delivery results was particularly good instead of the first stage of conveying *** drawback can be corrected by omitting the role of friction and shear stress at low air income *** was also found that the model developed by Kalenik failed to predict the performance of our airlift operation in terms of the mass flow rate of the coal particles.

Evaluation of ecological capability and land use planning for different uses of land with a new model of EMOLUP in Jahrom County,Iran

Land use planning is one of the basic principles of sustainable development in a region and in a *** main objective of this paper is to test a new model of land use planning in order to evaluate ecological suitability and prioritize different land uses in Jahrom County placed in Fars Province,*** two main steps were prepared for the new model of Eco-Socioeconomic Model of Land Use Planning(EMOLUP).Step 1 includes ecological capability evaluation of different land uses including forest,rangeland,agriculture,conservation,and *** step is composed of the geometric mean method instead of the Boolean method;and step 2 includes land use planning and prioritizing for the various uses mentioned *** step is composed of intersecting ecological capability maps and land use planning,based on two scenarios(economic and social).It was compared with qualitative and current quantitative ***,current land use is employed for calibrating and modifying the *** results of ecological suitability evaluation showed that the EMOLUP model has more accuracy in the process of comparison than other current ***,revised method using the geometric mean(with overall accuracy>72 and kappa index>0.55 for all land uses and rangeland with overall accuracy=32 and kappa index=0.02)is better than Boolean models,and the method of the calibrated geometric mean(with overall accuracy>87 and kappa index>0.73 for all land uses)is the best among different used *** should be noted that the arithmetic mean has the lowest accuracy(with overall accuracy<45 and kappa index<0.24 for all land uses).Also,the results of prioritizing and land use planning showed that the quantitative method with two socio-economic scenarios(result based on average of EPM erosion model=0.3 that means 30%of modification in whole study area land uses)is the best method for land use planning in the study area.

One of the crucial aspects of reducing air consumption when conveying particles with an airlift pump is to know the factors that affect the process of particle motion at an initial velocity of *** determine the influence of submer-gence ratio and physical properties of particles(such as size,shape,and mass)on the onset of vertical particle motion,the airlift pump was taken as the research object,and spherical glass together with irregular shaped coal were used as experimental test *** results show that unlike the water-solid environment,the start of particle motion in the water-air mixture does not always occur at a certain value of superficial water velocity and this value also increases with increasing submergence *** the parameters considered,the role of submergence ratio is much more effective than the dimensions and the shape of the particle,because by increasing submergence from 0.3 to 0.8,it is possible to reduce air consumption by up to 8 *** on this study the corresponding theoretical model derived by Fujimoto et *** optimized,wherein the overall agreement between the modified theory and present experimental data is particularly *** to Fujimoto,the minimum superficial water velocity for lifting solids in the air-water mixture is not always smaller than water ambient which indicates on optimum submergence ratio higher than ***,a new criterion was introduced to describe the moment of onset of the particle motion as a function of the superficial fluid velocity ratio for each submergence value.

Graphene as a truly 2-dimensional(2D)system is a promising candidate material for various optoelectronic *** graphene as the main building material in ultra-broadband photodetectors has been the center of extensive research due to its unique absorption spectrum which covers most of the electro-magnetic ***,one of the main challenges facing the wide application of pure graphene photodetectors has been the small optical absorption of monolayer *** novel designs were proposed to overcome this drawback,they often need complicated fabrication processes in order to integrate with the graphene *** this regard,fabrication of purely graphene photodetectors is a promising approach towards the manufacturing of simple,in expensive,and high photosensitive *** fabrication of full graphene photodetectors(FGPDs)is mainly based on obtaining an optimal technique for the growth of high quality graphene,modification of electronic and optical properties of the graphene,appropriate techniques for transfer of graphene from the grown substrate to the desire position,and a proper design for ***,the available states of the art techniques for each step of device fabrication,along with their pros and cons,are reviewed and the possible approaches for optimization of FGPDs have been proposed.

Probabilistic stability of uncertain composite plates and stochastic irregularity in their buckling mode shapes:A semi-analytical non-intrusive approach

In this study,the mechanical properties of the composite plate were considered Gaussian random fields and their effects on the buckling load and corresponding mode shapes were studied by developing a semi-analytical nonintrusive *** random fields were decomposed by the Karhunen−Loève *** strains were defined based on the assumptions of the first-order and higher-order shear-deformation *** equations of motion were extracted using Euler-Lagrange *** probabilistic response space was obtained by employing the nonintrusive polynomial chaos ***,the effect of spatially varying stochastic properties on the critical load of the plate and the irregularity of buckling mode shapes and their sequences were studied for the first *** findings showed that different shear deformation plate theories could significantly influence the reliability of thicker plates under compressive *** is suggested that a linear relationship exists between the mechanical properties’variation coefficient and critical loads’variation ***,in modeling the plate properties as random fields,a significant stochastic irregularity is obtained in buckling mode shapes,which is crucial in practical applications.

Herein,a two-node beam element enriched based on the Lagrange and Hermite interpolation function is proposed to solve the governing equation of a functionally graded porous(FGP)curved nanobeam on an elastic foundation in a hygro–thermo–magnetic *** material properties of curved nanobeams change continuously along the thickness via a power-law distribution,and the porosity distributions are described by an uneven porosity *** effects of magnetic fields,temperature,and moisture on the curved nanobeam are assumed to result in axial loads and not affect the mechanical properties of the *** equilibrium equations of the curved nanobeam are derived using Hamilton’s principle based on various beam theories,including the classical theory,first-order shear deformation theory,and higher-order shear deformation theory,and the nonlocal elasticity *** accuracy of the proposed method is verified by comparing the results obtained with those of previous reliable ***,the effects of different parameters on the free vibration behavior of the FGP curved nanobeams are investigated comprehensively.

Cremaster muscle thickening: the anatomic difference in men with testicular retraction due to hyperactive cremaster muscle reflex

The objective was to assess whether men suffering from testicular retraction secondary to hyperactive cremaster muscle reflex havean anatomic difference in the thickness of the cremaster muscle in comparison to men who do not have retraction. From March2021 to December 2021, 21 men underwent microsurgical subinguinal cremaster muscle release (MSCMR) on 33 spermatic cordunits, as 12 of them had bilateral surgery, at Surgicare of South Austin Ambulatory Surgery Center in Austin, TX, USA. Duringthat same time frame, 36 men underwent subinguinal microsurgical varicocele repair on 41 spermatic cord units, as 5 werebilateral for infertility. The thickness of cremaster muscles was measured by the operating surgeon in men undergoing MSCMRand varicocele repair. Comparison was made between the cremaster muscle thickness in men with testicular retraction due toa hyperactive cremaster muscle reflex undergoing MSCMR and the cremaster muscle thickness in men undergoing varicocelerepair for infertility with no history of testicular retraction, which served as an anatomic control. The mean cremaster musclethickness in men who underwent MSCMR was significantly greater than those undergoing varicocele repair for infertility, witha mean cremaster muscle thickness of 3.9 (standard deviation [s.d.]: 1.2) mm vs 1.0 (s.d.: 0.4) mm, respectively. Men withtesticular retraction secondary to a hyperactive cremaster muscle reflex demonstrate thicker cremaster muscles than controls,those undergoing varicocele repair. An anatomic difference may be a beginning to understanding the pathology in men whostruggle with testicular retraction.

Determine the most appropriate strategy for groundwater management in arid and semi-arid regions, Abhar Plain, Iran

Due to growing demand and reduction of water resources and increasing pollution of water,driven by dramatic population and economic growth, arid and semi-arid land's imminent water problems are nowadays aggravating. This study aims to determine the most appropriate management strategies for balancing the Abhar plain aquifer using the SWOT coupled with AHP technique. The results indicate that weaknesses prevail over strengths as well as threats over opportunities. The placement in the quarter of weaknesses-threats with a defensive strategy indicates the critical condition of the Abhar plain aquifer. The most appropriate solutions to achieve the goal of balancing the groundwater were prioritized by AHP method. According to results, improper management of water consumption with a weight of 72.5% is the most destructive factor in reducing groundwater resources. Among the types of consumption, the effect of an agricultural factor carries a weight of 74.2%. The exploitation of illegal wells, overdraft of exploitation license provisions of wells, reduction of precipitation and traditional irrigation methods were selected as the destructive factors causing the deteriration of groundwater resources. Also, with filling the illegal wells,changing the type of cultivation and greenhouse crops cultivation, installing a smart water meter,observance the provisions of the water exploitation license, implementing integrated pressurized irrigation systems, benefiting from suitable climatic conditions and geographical location for cultivating and developing the low-water use species and industries and on the other hand, with implementing artificial recharge to control the surface water resources and reduce abstraction from groundwater aquifers, the adverse trend of Abhar Plain groundwater resources can be controlled.

Uncertainty propagation in dynamics of composite plates: A semi-analytical non-sampling-based approach

In this study,the influences of spatially varying stochastic properties on free vibration analysis of composite plates were investigated via development of a new approach named the deterministic-stochastic Galerkin-based semi-analytical *** material properties including tensile modulus,shear modulus,and density of the plate were assumed to be spatially varying and *** fields with first-order Markov kernels were utilized to define the aforementioned material *** stochastic fields were decomposed via application of the K arhunen-Loeve theorem.A first-order shear deformation theory was assumed,following which the displacement field was defined using admissible trigonometric modes to derive the potential and kinetic *** stochastic equations of motion of the plate were obtained using the variational *** deterministic-stochastic Galerkin-based method was utilized to find the probability space of natural frequencies,and the corresponding mode shapes of the plate were determined using a polynomial chaos *** proposed method significantly reduced the size of the mathematical models of the structure,which is very useful for enhancing the computational efficiency of stochastic *** methodology was verifed using a stochastic finite element method and the available results in *** sensitivity of natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes due to the uncertainty of material properties was investigated,and the results indicated that the higher-order modes are more sensitive to uncertainty propagation in spatially varying properties.
