Laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC)remains one of the most commonly performed procedures in adult and paediatric *** the advances made in intraoperative biliary anatomy recognition,iatrogenic bile duct injuries during LC represent a fatal complication and consist an economic burden for healthcare systems.A series of methods have been proposed to prevent bile duct injury,among them the use of indocyanine green(ICG)*** most commonly reported method of ICG injection is the intravenous administration,while literature is lacking studies investigating the direct intragallbladder ICG *** narrative mini-review aims to assess the potential applications,usefulness,and limitations of intragallbladder ICG fluorescence in *** screened the available international literature to identify the reports of intragallbladder ICG fluorescence imaging in minimally invasive cholecystectomy,as well as special issues regarding its *** search retrieved four prospective cohort studies,three case-control studies,and one case *** the three case-control studies selected,intragallbladder near-infrared cholangiography(NIRC)was compared with standard LC under white light,with intravenous administration of ICG for NIRC and with standard intraoperative cholangiography(IOC).In total,133 patients reported in the literature have been administered intragallbladder ICG administration for biliary mapping during *** includes several reports of intragallbladder ICG administration,but a standardized technique has not been established *** data suggest that NIRC with intragallbladder ICG injection is a promising method to achieve biliary mapping,overwhelming limitations of IOC including intervention and radiation exposure,as well as the high hepatic parenchyma signal and time interval needed in intravenous ICG ***-based guidelines on the role of intragallbladder ICG fluorescence in LC require the assessment of furth

Contribution of Global Warming and Atmospheric Circulation to the Hottest Spring in Eastern China in 2018

The spring of 2018 was the hottest on record since 1951 over eastern China based on station observations,being 2.5°C higher than the 1961−90 mean and with more than 900 stations reaching the record spring mean *** event exerted serious impacts in the region on agriculture,plant phenology,electricity transmission systems,and human *** this paper,the contributions of human-induced climate change and anomalous anticyclonic circulation to this event are investigated using the newly homogenized observations and updated Met Office Hadley Centre system for attribution of extreme events,as well as CanESM2(Second Generation Canadian Earth System Model)*** indicate that both anthropogenic influences and anomalous anticyclonic circulation played significant roles in increasing the probability of the 2018 hottest *** estimates of the probability ratio show that anthropogenic forcing may have increased the chance of this event by ten-fold,while the anomalous circulation increased it by approximately *** persistent anomalous anticyclonic circulation located on the north side of China blocked the air with lower temperature from high latitudes into eastern *** anthropogenic forcing or without the anomalous circulation in northern China,the occurrence probability of the extreme warm spring is significantly reduced.

The influence of anthropogenic climate change on wet and dry summers in Europe

Understanding the role of anthropogenic forcings in regional hydrological changes can help communities plan their adaptation in an informed *** we apply attribution research methods to investigate the effect of human influence on historical trends in wet and dry summers and changes in the likelihood of extreme events in *** employ an ensemble of new climate models and compare experiments with and without the effect of human influence to assess the anthropogenic *** changes are also analysed with projections to year *** employ two drought indices defined relative to the pre-industrial climate:one driven by changes in rainfall only and one that also includes the effect of temperature via changes in potential *** indices suggest significant changes in European summers have already emerged above variability and are expected to intensify in the future,leading to widespread dryer conditions which are more extreme in the *** only the effect of rainfall is considered,there is a distinct contrast between a shift towards wetter conditions in the north and dryer in the south of the continent,as well as an overall increase in ***,when the effect of warming is also included,it largely masks the wet trends in the north,resulting in increasingly drier summers across most of the *** index trends are already detected in the observations,while models suggest that what were extremely dry conditions in the pre-industrial climate will become normal in the south by the end of the century.

Extreme rainfall events are rare in inland arid regions, but have exhibited an increasing trend in recent years, causing many casualties and substantial socioeconomic losses. A series of heavy rains that began on July 31st, 2018, battered the Hami prefecture of eastern Xinjiang, China for four days. These rains sparked devastating floods, caused 20 deaths, eight missing, and the evacuation of about 5500 people. This study examines the extreme rainfall event in a historical context and explores the anthropogenic causes based on analysis of multiple datasets (i.e., the observed daily data, the global climate models (GCMs) from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5), the NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis 1, and the satellite cloud data) and several statistical techniques. Results show that this extraordinarily heavy rainfall was due mainly to the abnormal weather system (e.g., the abnormal subtropical high) that transported abundant water vapor from the Indian Ocean and the East China Sea crossed the high mountains and formed extreme rainfall in Hami prefecture, causing the reservoir to break and form a flood event with treat loss, which is a typical example of a comprehensive analysis of the extreme rainfall event in summer in Northwest China. Also, the fraction of attributable risk (FAR) value was 1.00 when the 2018 July–August RX1day (11.52 mm) was marked as the threshold, supporting the claim of a significant anthropogenic influence on the risk of this extreme rainfall. The results offer insights into the variability of precipitation extremes in arid areas contributing to better manage water-related disasters.

Production of a Mathematic Equation Using Statistical Data for the Determination of Kinematic Viscosity in Blends of Diesel Fuel with Biodiesel

In this paper, the authors try to export an equation which describes the variation of kinematic viscosity in blends of diesel fuel with biodiesel. Using specific volume of these blends, the authors determine kinematic viscosity via method ASTM D 445-06 using a capillary glass viscometer in order to study the contribution of quantity of biodiesel and convert the statistical data into mathematic relation as a specific formula, attempting to achieve an empirical evaluation. Trying to accomplish this, the authors studied the way how the values of variables are changed and whether a relation exists using dispersion diagrams. From the graphic depiction, the authors realized that the relation is linear and they proceeded to regression analysis. The analysis extracted the conclusion that the relation was strong and the values of the dependent variable kinematic viscosity was depended on a large percentage of the values of the mixture of fuels.
