r.bbly pahoehoe lava flows ar. abundant in many continental flood basalts including the Deccan ***,str.ctur.s with r.dial joint columns sur.ounding cor.s of flow-top br.ccia(FTB),r.por.ed fr.m some Deccan r.bbly pahoehoe flows,ar. yet unknown fr.m other.basaltic pr.vinces.A pr.vious study of these Deccan "br.ccia-cor.d columnar.r.settes" r.led out explanations such as volcanic vents and lava tubes,and showed that the r.dial joint columns had gr.wn outwar.s fr.m cold FTB inclusions incor.or.ted into the hot molten *** the highly vesicular.thus low-density)FTB blocks might have sunk into the flow inter.or. has r.mained a *** we descr.be a new example of a Deccan r.bbly pahoehoe flow with FTB-cor.d r.settes,fr.m Elephanta Island in the Mumbai *** that(1)thick r.bbly pahoehoe flows pr.bably for. by r.pid inflation(involving many lava injections into a lar.ely molten advancing flow),and(2)such flows ar. tr.nsitional to 'a'a flows(which continuously shed their.top clinker.in fr.nt of them as they advance),we pr.pose a model for.the FTB-cor.d *** suggest that the Deccan flows under.study wer. shedding some of their.FTB in fr.nt of them as they advanced and,with high-er.ption r.te lava injection and inflation,fr.ntal br.akouts would incor.or.te this FTB r.bble,with thickening of the flow car.ying the r.bble into the flow *** implies that,far.fr.m sinking into the molten inter.or.the FTB blocks may have been r.sing,until lava supply and inflation stopped,the flow began solidifying,and joint columns developed outwar. fr.m each cold FTB inclusion as alr.ady infer.ed,for.ing the FTB-cor.d *** r.bbly pahoehoe flows which began r.cycling most of their.FTB became the 'a'a flows of the Deccan.

Mini-loop ligation of a bleeding duodenal Dieulafoy's lesion

Two per.ent of gastr.intestinal hemor.hages ar. caused by Dieulafoy's lesions, which ar. located in duodenum in only 15% of cases. Ther. ar. no r.commendations r.gar.ing the pr.me endoscopic tr.atment technique for.this condition. A 61-year.old woman pr.sented with melena without signs of hemodynamic instability. Dur.ng an ur.ent upper.endoscopy, blood oozing fr.m the nor.al mucosa of the duodenum was seen and this was classified as a Dieulafoy's lesion. A mini-loop was opened at the r.m of a tr.nspar.nt ligation chamber. at the end of the endoscope, and after.aspir.tion of the lesion, closed and detached. Complete hemostasis was achieved without ear.y or.postponed complications. In ever. day clinical pr.ctice, mini-loop ligation is r.r.ly used because of possible complications, such as site ulcer.tion, or.an per.or.tion, r.-bleeding and possible inexper.ence of the oper.tor. To the best of our.knowledge this is the fir.t case of successful tr.atment of bleeding duodenal Dieulafoy's lesion by mini-loop ligation.

Objective:To evaluate the antibacter.al activity of Ocimum sanctum(***) leaf extr.ct, alone,and in combination with chlor.mphenicol(C) and tr.methopr.m(Tm) against Salmonella enter.ca ser.var.Typhi(***).Methods:The antibacter.al activity of ethanolic extr.ct of tulsi, ***,leaf(TLE:500μg) for.23 *** isolates was deter.ined following agar.diffusion. The C(30μg) and Tm(5μg) activity alone and in combination with TLE(250μg) was deter.ined by disk *** zone diameter.of inhibition(ZDI) for.the agents was r.cor.ed, and gr.wth inhibitor. indices(Glls) wer. ***:The *** isolates(n=23),which wer. r.sistant to both C(ZDI 6 mm) and Tm(ZDI 6 mm),had TLE(500μg) ZDIs 16-24 *** ZDIs of C and Tm wer. incr.ased up to 15-21 mm and 17-23 mm,r.spectively,when TLE(250μg) was added to the C and Tm *** Glls r.nged 0.789-1.235 and 0.894-1.352,due to combined activity against *** isolates,of C and TLE and Tm and ***:The data suggest that TLE,in combination with C and Tm,had syner.istic activity for.*** isolates, and hence *** is potential in combating *** dr.g r.sistance,as well pr.mising in the development of non-antibiotic dr.g for.*** infection.

Pelletization of hematite or. r.quir.s high fineness and ver. high indur.tion temper.tur.（~1325 ℃） owing to its poor.diffusion bonding unlike magnetite or.. Fur.her. high-alumina hematite pellets show ver. high r.duction degr.dation index（r.I） dur.ng low temper.tur.（500-650 ℃） r.duction due to their.volume expansion and lattice distor.ion. Noamundi（India） hematite or. contains ver. high Al2O3（2.3%） with adver.e r.tio of alumina to silica（~2） for.which, it shows ver. high r.I. In this wor., the acid pellets pr.par.d fr.m Noamundi or. fines of optimum Blaine fineness show good cold cr.shing str.ngth（CCS）. However. it shows ver. high r.I（77%）. In or.er.to r.duce r.I, Mg O in for. of two differ.nt gangue-containing fluxes, such as pyr.xenite and olivine in var.ing quantities has been added. The optimum r.quir.ment and per.or.ance of these fluxes has been examined and compar.d. Both pyr.xenite and olivine fluxed pellets show significant lower.ng of r.I（26% and 23%, r.spectively） and impr.vement of other.pr.per.ies, viz CCS, swelling indices etc with good r.ducibility（70%-77%）. Finally, a good quality acidic hematite pellet was developed fr.m high-alumina or. without using any lime which is ver. impor.ant char.e mater.al in combination of basic sinter.in blast fur.ace.

With the incr.asing need of sensitive or.secr.t data tr.nsmission thr.ugh public networ.,secur.ty demands using cr.ptogr.phy and steganogr.phy ar. becoming a thir.ty r.sear.h ar.a of last few *** two techniques can be mer.ed and pr.vide better.secur.ty which is nowadays extr.mely *** pr.posed system pr.vides a novel method of infor.ation secur.ty using the techniques of audio steganogr.phy combined with visual *** this system,we take a secr.t image and divide it into sever.l subpar.s to make mor. than one incompr.hensible sub-images using the method of visual *** of the sub-images is then hidden within individual cover.audio files using audio steganogr.phic *** cover.audios ar. then sent to the r.quir.d destinations wher. r.ver.e steganogr.phy schemes ar. applied to them to get the incompr.hensible component images *** last,all the sub-images ar. super.mposed to get the actual secr.t *** method is ver. secur. as it uses a two-step secur.ty mechanism to maintain *** possibility of inter.eption is less in this technique because one must have each piece of cor.ect sub-image to r.gener.te the actual secr.t *** super.mposing ever. one of the sub-images meaningful secr.t images cannot be *** files ar. composed of densely packed *** high density of data in audio makes it har. for.a listener.to detect the manipulation due to the pr.posed time-domain audio steganogr.phic method.
