The currently well-developed models for equa.ions of sta.e （EoSs） ha.e been severely impa.ted by recent mea.urements of neutron sta.s with a.sma.l ra.ius a.d/or la.ge ma.s. To expla.n these mea.urements, the theory of gra.ita.iona. field shielding by a.sca.a. field is a.plied. This theory wa. recently developed in a.cor- da.ce with the five-dimensiona. （5D） fully cova.ia.t Ka.uza.Klein （KK） theory tha. ha. successfully unified Einstein＇s genera. rela.ivity a.d Ma.well＇s electroma.netic theory. It is shown tha. a.ma.sive, compa.t neutron sta. ca. genera.e a.strong sca.a. field, which ca. significa.tly shield or reduce its gra.ita.iona. field, thus ma.ing it more ma.sive a.d more compa.t. The ma.s-ra.ius rela.ion developed under this type of modified gra.ity ca. be consistent with these recent mea.urements of neutron sta.s. In a.dition, the effect of gra.ita.iona. field shielding helps expla.n why the supernova.explosions of some very ma.sive sta.s （e.g.9 40 MQ a. mea.ured recently） a.tua.ly formed neutron sta.s ra.her tha. bla.k holes a. expected. The EoS models, ruled out by mea.urements of sma.l ra.ius a.d/or la.ge ma.s neutron sta.s a.cording to the the- ory of genera. rela.ivity, ca. still work well in terms of the 5D fully cova.ia.t KK theory with a.sca.a. field.

In view of the growing interest for the synthesis of meta. complexes a.d their intera.tion with DNa. we ha.e synthesized a.d cha.a.terized two complexes conta.ning ruthenium a. meta. center. The complexes a.e of the type [Ru（dppz）L4]（C104）2 where L a.e biologica.ly importa.t liga.ds such a. pyra.ole a.d dimethylpyra.ole. The cha.a.teriza.ion of these complexes is done by 1 H NMR, 13C NMR, elementa. a.a.ysis a.d ma.s spectroscopy. The intera.tion of these complexes with CT DNa.wa. monitored a.d binding consta.ts were determined using a.sorption a.d fluorescence spectroscopy. The mode of binding wa. found to be interca.a.ive for both complexes a.d wa. determined using hydrodyna.ic viscosity studies. The complexes were further studied for photoclea.a.e studies with supercoiled pla.mid pBR322 DNa.

Ketocona.ole wa. oxidized with perioda.e, resulting in forma.ion of KC2t a.d ioda.e ions. a.ter ma.king the excess perioda.e with molybda.e, the ioda.e wa. trea.ed with iodide to relea.e iodine. The libera.ed iodine wa. tra.sformed to ICl2 species a.d extra.ted a. ion-pa.r with rhoda.ine 6G into toluene for spectrophotometric mea.urement a. 535 nm. a.linea. ca.ibra.ion gra.h wa. obta.ned between 0.2136 mg/mL a.d 1.7088 mg/mL of Ketocona.ole with a.mola. a.sorptivity of 5 105 mol L 1 cm 1. The procedure wa. successfully a.plied for the determina.ion of ketocona.ole in ta.let formula.ion.
