In radiology,magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)is an essential diagnostic tool that provides detailed images of a patient’s anatomical and physiological *** is particularly effective for detecting soft tissue ***,radiologists manually interpret these images,which can be labor-intensive and time-consuming due to the vast amount of *** address this challenge,machine learning,and deep learning approaches can be utilized to improve the accuracy and efficiency of anomaly detection in MRI *** manuscript presents the use of the Deep AlexNet50 model for MRI classification with discriminative learning *** are three stages for learning;in the first stage,the whole dataset is used to learn the *** the second stage,some layers of AlexNet50 are frozen with an augmented dataset,and in the third stage,AlexNet50 with an augmented dataset with the augmented *** method used three publicly available MRI classification datasets:Harvard whole brain atlas(HWBA-dataset),the School of Biomedical Engineering of Southern Medical University(SMU-dataset),and The National Institute of Neuroscience and Hospitals brain MRI dataset(NINS-dataset)for *** hyperparameter optimizers like Adam,stochastic gradient descent(SGD),Root mean square propagation(RMS prop),Adamax,and AdamW have been used to compare the performance of the learning ***-dataset registers maximum classification *** evaluated the performance of the proposed classification model using several quantitative metrics,achieving an average accuracy of 98%.

Myocardial perfusion imaging(MpI),which uses single-photon emission computed tomography(SpECT),is a well-known estimating tool for medical diagnosis,employing the classification of images to show situations in coronary artery disease(CAD).The automatic classification of SpECT images for different techniques has achieved near-optimal accuracy when using convolutional neural networks(CNNs).This paper uses a SpECT classification framework with three steps:1)Image denoising,2)Attenuation correction,and 3)Image *** denoising is done by a U-Net architecture that ensures effective image *** correction is implemented by a convolution neural network model that can remove the attenuation that affects the feature extraction process of ***,a novel multi-scale diluted convolution(MSDC)network is *** merges the features extracted in different scales and makes the model learn the features more *** scales of filters with size 3×3 are used to extract *** three steps are compared with state-of-the-art *** proposed denoising architecture ensures a high-quality image with the highest peak signal-to-noise ratio(pSNR)value of *** proposed classification method is compared with the five different CNN models,and the proposed method ensures better classification with an accuracy of 96%,precision of 87%,sensitivity of 87%,specificity of 89%,and F1-score of 87%.To demonstrate the importance of preprocessing,the classification model was analyzed without denoising and attenuation correction.

Intense anthropogenic exploitation has altered distribution of forest resources. This change was analyzed using visual interpretation of satellite data of 1979, 1999 and 2009. Field and interactive social surveys were conducted to identify spatial trends in forest degradation and data were mapped on forest cover and land use maps. perceptions of villagers were compiled in a pictorial representation to understand changes in forest resource distribution in central Himalaya from 1970 to 2010. For- ested areas were subject to degradation and isolation due to loss of con- necting forest stands. Species like Lantana camara and Eupatorium adenophorum invaded forest landscapes. Intensity of human pressure differed by forest type and elevation. An integrated approach is needed to monitor forest resource distribution and disturbance.

Snowmelt is an important component of any snow-fed river *** Jhelum River is one such transnational mountain river flowing through India and *** basin is minimally glacierized and its discharge is largely governed by seasonal snow cover and ***,accurate estimation of seasonal snow cover dynamics and snowmeltinduced runoff is important for sustainable water resource management in the *** present study looks into spatio-temporal variations of snow cover for past decade and stream flow simulation in the Jhelum River *** cover extent(SCE) was estimated using MODIS(Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer) sensor *** Difference Snow Index(NDSI) algorithm was used to generate multi-temporal time series snow cover *** results indicate large variation in snow cover distribution pattern and decreasing trend in different sub-basins of the Jhelum *** relationship between SCE-temperature,SCE-discharge and discharge-precipitation was analyzed for different seasons and shows strong *** streamflow simulation of the entire Jhelum basin Snow melt Runoff Model(SRM) used.A good correlation was observed between simulated stream flow and in-situ *** monthly discharge contribution from different sub-basins to the total discharge of the Jhelum River was estimated using a modified version of runoff model based on temperature-index approach developed for small *** power - an indicator of the erosive capability of streams was also calculated for different sub-basins.

The northwestern Himalaya harbors high levels of biodiversity due to its unique topography, climatic conditions and heterogeneity. Forest fragmentation is one of the major threats causing a decline in biodiversity in the Himalayan region. We assesses forest fragmentation and changes in land use land cover（LULC） patterns using multi-temporal satellite data over a time span of four decades（1976–2013）. Fragmentation analysis using the Landscape Fragmentation Tool（LFT） reveals a decrease in core and edge areas by 14 and 2.3 %, respectively; while an increase in non-forest, patch area and perforation area by 2.1, 0.4, and 14 %, respectively. The LULC dynamics show that the areas under dense forest and scrub forest have decreased by 2.8 % and 1.9 %, respectively; and there is an increase in open forest, crop land and fallow land area by 2.6, 1.7 and 2.1 %, respectively. The quantification of landscape heterogeneity is undertaken with the help of landscape metrics computed using FRAGSTATS at class and landscape level, showing signs of increased fragmentation. Our study provides baseline database that can support the future biodiversity conservation and sustainable forest management initiatives.

We study here the response of photonic hydrogels(pHs),made of photonic crystals of homogeneous silica particles in polyacrylamide hydrogels(SpHs),to the uranyl ions 22 UO_(2)^(2+) in aqueous *** is found that the reflection spectra of the SpH show a peak due to the Bragg diffraction,which exhibits a blue shift in the presence of 22 UO_(2)^(2+).Upon exposure to the SpH,22 UO_(2)^(2+)gets adsorbed on the SpH and forms complex coordinate bonds with multiple ligands on the SpH,which causes shrinking of hydrogel and leads to the blue shift in the diffraction *** amount of the blue shift in the diffraction peak increases monotonically up to 22 UO_(2)^(2+)concentrations as high as 2300μ*** equilibration time for the shift in the Bragg peak upon exposure to 22 UO_(2)^(2+)is found to be~30 *** results are in contrast to the earlier reports on photonic hydrogels of inhomogeneous microgel particles hydrogel(MpH),which shows the threshold 22 UO_(2)^(2+)concentration of~600μM,below which the diffraction peak exhibits a blue shift and a change to a red shift above *** equilibration time for MpH is~300 *** observed monotonic blue shift and the faster time response of the SpH to 22 UO_(2)^(2+)as compared to the MpH are explained in terms of homogeneous nature of silica particles in the SpH,against the porous and polymeric nature of microgels in the *** also study the extraction of 22 UO_(2)^(2+)from aqueous solutions using the *** extraction capacity estimated by the arsenazo-III analysis is found to be 112 mM/kg.

Three-dimensional computational characterization of grain size and texture effects in magnesium alloys

This work systematically investigates the microstructure-property relationship in Mg alloys. Emphasis is placed on understanding, through high resolution crystal plasticity modeling, how grain size and texture collectively impact material strengthening and hardening, net plastic anisotropy, and tension-compression asymmetry. To achieve this, 528 fully three-dimensional finite element calculations are performed, which comprise eleven textures, four grain sizes, six loading orientations, and two uniaxial loading states(tension and compression). The grain size effect follows Hall-petch relation that depends on both, loading orientation and initial texture. The reduction in extension twinning with grain size refinement is influenced by texture as well. Below a threshold textural strength, grain size refinement leads to an appreciable reduction in the net plastic anisotropy at yield, quantified using Hill anisotropy, and reduced tension-compression asymmetry. Using a micromechanical basis, the effect of grain size and texture on material ductility is predicted to be non-monotonic. The computational predictions serve as synthetic data sets for experimental validation and reduced-order modeling.

Objective To study the carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatoprotective activity in cow urine. Methods Effect of cow urine distillate on liver function was studied in vivo in rats intoxicated with carbon tetrachloride （CC14）. Hepatotoxicity was induced by a 1 ： 1 （v/v） mixture of CCl4 in olive oil （5 mL/kg i.p）. protective effect of cow urine distillate （in three dose levels） and standard drug Silymarin （100 mg/kg, p.o） on liver function were studied in intoxicated rats. parameters in the study included liver function tests and histological observations. Results The cow urine distillate decreased the levels of SGOT, SGpT, ALp, GGT, and total bilirubin in a dose-dependent manner （p〈0.05） as sylimarin. Conclusion The observed protective effects of cow urine distillate on liver function might be due to the presence of antioxidants in cow urine.

We report high-temperature thermodynamics for fcc silver by combining ab initio phonon dynamics to empirical quadratic temperature-dependent term for anharmonic part of Helmholtz free energy. The electronic free energy is added through an interpolation scheme, which connects ambient condition free electron gas model to Thomas-Fermi *** present study shows good agreement with experimental and reported findings for several thermal properties, and the discrepancy observed in some caloric properties is addressed. The decreases in the product of volume thermal expansion coefficient and isothermal bulk modulus and in the constant volume anharmonic lattice specific heat at high temperature are the clear evidences of proper account of anharmonicity. The present study also reveals that T-2-dependent anharmonic free energy is sufficient for correct evaluation of thermal pressure and conventional Grüneisen parameter. We observe that the intrinsic phonon anharmonicity starts dominating above characteristic temperature, which is attributed to higher order anharmonicity and can be related to higher order potential derivatives. We conclude that the uncorrelated and largeamplitude lattice vibrations at high temperature raise dominating intrinsic thermal stress mechanism, which surpasses the phonon-anharmonism and requires future consideration.
