Thin-film of Mn-doped iron disulfide(FeS2) has been prepared using the thermal evaporation method. This work reports the Hall measurements, temperature and light intensity-dependent photoconductivity, electrical transport mechanism, and photodetection properties of Mn-doped FeS2thin film. The transient photoconductivity measurements of p-type Mn-doped FeS2thin film show a consistent dependence upon temperature and light *** transport mechanism was illustrated using different models. In region-Ⅰ(303–393 K) deposited film followed the thermally activated transport mechanism. Nearest neighbour hopping(NNH) transport mechanism was followed by region-Ⅱ(274–293 K), and Mott’s variable range hopping(VRH) mechanism was dominant in region Ⅲ(108–273 K). The fabricated device resulted in higher photoconductivity due to collecting charge carriers through electrodes under light illumination. The results also revealed that Mn-doped thin film possessed good photoresponsivity(～19 m A/W) as well as photo-detectivity(～3.4 × 1012Jones) due to the occupation of localized states formed by Mn-doping. Light intensity-dependent photodetection properties suggested the potential for real-time photodetection applications.

Excess mortality in elderly hip fracture patients:An Indian experience

purpose:Hip fractures in elderly have a high ***,there is limited literature on the excess mortality seen in hip fractures compared to the normal *** purpose of this study was to compare the mortality of hip fractures with that of age and gender matched Indian ***:There are 283 patients with hip fractures aged above 50 years admitted at single centre prospectively enrolled in this *** were followed up for 1 year and the follow-up record was available for 279 *** was assessed during the follow-up from chart review and/or by telephonic ***-year mortality of Indian population was obtained from public *** mortality ratio(SMR)(observed mortality divided by expected mortality)was ***-Meir analysis was ***:The overall 1-year mortality was 19.0%(53/279).Mortality increased with age(ppected mortality of Indian population of similar age and gender profile was 3.7%,giving a SMR of *** for different age quintiles were:3.9(aged 50-59 years),6.6(aged 60-69 years),2.2(aged 70-79 years);and 2.0(aged over 80 years).SMR in males and females were 5.7 and 5.3,***:Indian patients sustaining hip fractures were about 5 times more likely to die than the general *** mortality rates increased with age,the highest excess mortality was seen in relatively younger *** fracture mortality was even higher than that of myocardial infarction,breast cancer,and cervical cancer.

We have previously introduced the use of permeabilized fission yeast cells(enzyme bags)that recombinantly express full-length CYps for drug metabolism *** enzyme bags are cells with pores that function as enzymes in *** can easily be prepared without a need for ultracentrifugation and may be used in similar protocols as *** this study we report the preparation of enzyme bag cocktails that permit the testing of multiple CYps in a single enzyme bag ***,we established a convenient testing scheme that permits a rapid screen of all human CYps for activity towards any given candidate *** important aspect of this approach is the reduction of individual CYp test *** a cocktail containing many CYps tests negative,it follows that all CYps included in that cocktail need not be tested individually,thus saving time and *** new protocol was validated using two probe substrates.

Introduction: postpartum depression often starts two weeks to a month after delivery and can linger for months or even a year. According to the World Health Organization, depression affects roughly 10% of pregnant women worldwide and 13% of women in the immediate postpartum period. In India, the prevalence of postpartum Depression (ppD) varies from 15% to 20%. Yoga, which originated in ancient India, is recognized as an alternative medicine practice that incorporates mind-body practices. Methodology: This is a review (narrative) study, in which literature has been evaluated using electronic search in databases of pubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, ResearchGate, etc. Searching in the databases was made using keywords of postpartum depression, yoga in postpartum depression. There were many articles on yoga in depression but those articles were included in the study that had done research on postpartum depression, which were of research and review article type. Result: This review study includes 4 interventional studies that showed a highly significant (p pression after the performance of yoga on postpartum women. Conclusion: This study showed the result that different limbs of yoga (i.e., Dhyana, Asanas, and pranayama, etc.) could considerably reduce depression symptoms in postnatal women. This would also help in reducing the use of antidepressant medications. Therefore, it is recommended that yoga training should be employed in postnatal treatment.

This research work proposes a new stack-based generalization ensemble model to forecast the number of incidences of conjunctivitis *** addition to forecasting the occurrences of conjunctivitis incidences,the proposed model also improves performance by using the ensemble *** rate of acute Conjunctivitis per 1000 for Hong Kong is collected for the duration of the first week of January 2010 to the last week of December ***-processing techniques such as imputation of missing values and logarithmic transformation are applied to pre-process the data sets.A stacked generalization ensemble model based on Auto-ARIMA(Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average),NNAR(Neural Network Autoregression),ETS(Exponential Smoothing),HW(Holt Winter)is proposed and applied on the *** analysis is conducted on the collected dataset of conjunctivitis disease,and further compared for different performance *** result shows that the RMSE(Root Mean Square Error),MAE(Mean Absolute Error),MApE(Mean Absolute percentage Error),ACF1(Auto Correlation Function)of the proposed ensemble is decreased *** the RMSE,for instance,error values are reduced by 39.23%,9.13%,20.42%,and 17.13%in comparison to Auto-ARIMA,NAR,ETS,and HW model *** research concludes that the accuracy of the forecasting of diseases can be significantly increased by applying the proposed stack generalization ensemble model as it minimizes the prediction error and hence provides better prediction trends as compared to Auto-ARIMA,NAR,ETS,and HW model applied discretely.

Arrhythmia and its risk factors post myocardial infarction:A prospective study

Objectives:To determine the occurrence of arrhythmia and its associated risk factors in the first week after acute myocardial infarction(MI).Methods:A total of 100 patients with acute MI were recruited,who were followed up for one week to determine the occurrence of arrhythmia and its association with electrolyte disturbances,left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),and demographic *** and multivariate logistic regression was used to identify significant risk factors of ***:Among 100 cases,arrhythmia was seen in 27 *** tachycardia was the commonest,followed by ventricular premature beats and sinus *** fraction,serum calcium and magnesium were significantly different between non-arrhythmia and arrhythmia patients(ppendent significant risk factor of *** with ejection fraction>40%had a significantly lower risk of arrhythmia with an adjusted odds ratio of 0.22(95%CI:0.08 to 0.64).Conclusions:Arrhythmia is common in the first week after myocardial *** type of arrhythmia and the type of block may depend on the heart muscles involved during myocardial *** fraction is a risk factor that may affect the occurrence of arrhythmia.
