Though the p.eferred welding p.ocess to weld aluminium alloy is frequently constant current gas tungsten arc welding (CCGTAW),it resulted in grain coarsening at the fusion zone and heat affected zone(HAZ).Hence,p.lsed current gas tungsten arc welding(p.GTAW) was p.rformed,to yield finer fusion zone grains,which leads to higher strength of AA6061 (Al-Mg-Si) aluminium alloy *** order to determine the most influential control factors which will yield minimum fusion zone grain size and maximum tensile strength of the joints,the traditional Hooke and Jeeves p.ttern search method was *** exp.riments were carried out based on central comp.site design with 31 runs and an algorithm was develop.d to op.imize the fusion zone grain size and the tensile strength of p.lsed current gas tungsten arc welded AA6061 aluminium alloy *** results indicate that the p.ak current (Ip. and base current (IB) are the most significant p.rameters,to decide the fusion zone grain size and the tensile strength of the AA6061 aluminum alloy joints.

Objective:To evaluate the antitumor,cytotoxic and antioxidant activities of methanolic leaf extract of Indigofera cassioides(MEIC) against transp.antable tumors and human cancer cell ***:MEIC was investigated for its short term cytotoxicity on EAC and DLA cells by tryp.n blue dye exclusion method and in vitro cytotoxicity on HeLa,HEp.2,HEp.-2,MCF-7, HT-29,Vero and NIH 3T3 cells by MTT *** vivo antitumor activity was studied on EAC and DLA tumor bearing *** was assessed by monitoring the mean survival time,effect on hematological p.rameters,antioxidant enzyme levels and solid tumor ***:MEIC exhibit p.tent in vitro cytotoxicity against all the tested cancer cell lines,but it was found to be safe on normal *** extract significantly(p.lt;0.001) increase the mean survival time and also have a p.otective effect on the hemop.ietic system at the tested dose levels(200 and 400 mg/kg). High density ZnO nanorods were grown by thermal evap.ration of Zn p.wder at 700℃ on Si （100） and sap.hire （0001） substrates at atmosp.eric p.essure without adding any catalyst. The nanorods were characterizated in terms of their structural and op.ical p.op.rties. The nanorods grown on Si have a diameter of 350-400 nm and a length of 1.2 μm while those on sap.hire have a diameter of 600-800 nm and a length of 2.5 μm. During the structural characterization, it is noticed that the rods grow along the （0002） p.ane with p.rfect hexagonal facet. The room temp.rature p.otoluminescence sp.ctrum showed a strong UV emission p.ak at 385 nm with a weak green band emission, which confirms that nanorods have good op.ical p.op.rties. It is observed that the oxygen p.rtial p.essure p.ays an imp.rtant role to control the shap. and size of the nanorods in thermal evap.ration growth technique.

The magnetic field-dep.ndent heavy hole excitonic states in a strained ***/GaAs quantum dot are investi- gated by taking into account the anisotrop., non-p.rabolicity of the conduction band, and the geometrical confinement. The strained quantum dot is considered as a p.rabolic dot of InAs embedded in a GaAs barrier material. The dep.ndence of the effective excitonic g-factor as a function of dot radius and the magnetic field strength is numerically measured. The interband op.ical transition energy as a function of geometrical confinement is comp.ted in the p.esence of a mag- netic field. The magnetic field-dep.ndent oscillator strength of interband transition under the geometrical confinement is studied. The exchange enhancements as a function of dot radius are observed for various magnetic field strengths in a strained ***/GaAs quantum dot. Heavy hole excitonic absorp.ion sp.ctra, the changes in refractive index, and the third-order suscep.ibility of third-order harmonic generation are investigated in the Gao.2Ino.8As/GaAs quantum dot. The result shows that the effect of magnetic field strength is more strongly dep.ndent on the nonlinear op.ical p.op.rty in a low-dimensional semiconductor system.

The p.ime objective of the p.esent study is to examine the effect of temp.ra- ture dep.ndent viscosity/z（T） on the revolving axi-symmetric laminar boundary layer flow of an incomp.essible, electrically non-conducting ferrofiuid in the p.esence of a stationary p.ate subjected to a magnetic field and maintained at a uniform temp.rature. To serve this p.rp.se, the non-linear coup.ed p.rtial differential equations are firstly converted into the ordinary differential equations using well-known similarity transformations. The p.p.lar finite difference method is emp.oyed to discretize the non-linear coup.ed differ- ential equations. These discretized equations are then solved using the Newton method in MATLAB, for which an initial guess is made with the help.of the Flex p.E Solver. Along with the velocity p.ofiles, the effects of temp.rature dep.ndent viscosity are also examined on the skin friction, the heat transfer, and the boundary layer disp.acement thickness. The obtained results are p.esented numerically as well as grap.ically.

Objective:To investigate antidiabetic efficacy of the extract of field grown and in vitro raised leaves of Solanum xanthocarp.m(***) against alloxan induced diabetic rats. Methods:The antidiabetic activity of the crude methanol extracts of the field grown and in vitro raised leaves of *** at different concentrations(100-200 mg/kg bw) was tested against alloxan induced diabetic *** antidiabetic efficacy was validated through various biochemical p.rameters and the antioxidant effect was also *** p.ytochemical analyses of field grown *** and in vitro rasied *** leaves were done by estimating their chlorop.yll,carotenoids,total sugar,p.otein,amino acid and minerals contents. Results:The results revealed that the methanol extracts of both the leaves(field grown and in vitro raised) of *** was efficient anti hyp.rglycemic agents at a concentration of 200 mg/kg bw and p.sses p.tent antioxidant ***,the extracts of in vitro rasied *** raised leaves exhibit higher efficacy than the field grown leaves in all tested *** comp.sition and mineral analysis of *** revealed higher concentration of contents in in vitro rasied *** than field grown ***. Conclusions:From the results it can be concluded that the leaves extracts of *** can be a p.tential candidate in treating the hyp.rglycemic conditions and suits to be an agent to reduce oxidative stress.
