该文旨在研究早期冠状动脉钙化(coronary artery calcium,CAC)的相关危险因素,以及CAC在20~30岁成年人中的潜在临床研究价值。方法:纳入CAC研究中基线年龄20~30岁的患者(n=373)作为研究对象,该研究为大型多中心队列研究,研究对象为年龄≥18岁无动脉粥样硬化性心血管病(atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease,ASCVD)的患者,应用CAC评分进行临床风险分层。

Objective:To investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of the extract of Vernonia amygdalina (V.A).Methods:Inflammatory response was induced by topical application of croton oil dissolved in suitable vehicle on the rat *** 6 hrs,cutting out the ear quantitated the *** cut ear was weighed and the increase in weight relative to control group was ***:When co-applied with croton oil to the rat ear extract of *** a reduction in the inflammatory response when croton oil alone was applied to the rat *** extract produced(69.1 +2.0)%reduction of the inflammatory response produced by croton oil alone,lower than the reduction of the inflammatory response produced by acetyl salicylic acid[(71.1±2.0)%].Conclusions:This finding suggests that extract of *** antiinflammatory activity and may explain the usefulness of the leaves of this plant in the treatment of inflammatory disease conditions by traditional healers.

Despite a substantial reduction in the incidence and prevalence of parasitic diseases in the industrialized world, they continue to be an important public health problem in many developing African countries,including Nigeria. However,estimates of the prevalence of such infections among school age children,who bear the greatest health burden due to these diseases,are hard to come *** objective of this study was therefore to determine the prevalence and type of intestinal helminth infections among primary school *** study was cross-sectional in *** participants included 266 pupils recruited from three government primary schools in the Mokola area of Ibadan,*** pupils were interviewed and their stool samples examined for eggs of common *** mean age of the pupils was 9.8±2.6 years,and 128(48.1%) were *** pupils(7.1%) had intestinal helminth *** lumbricoides was found in 17 pupils(6. 4%) and was the most prevalent helminth among the children,while Trichuris trichiura was found in only two subjects(0.8%).Previous infestations and the use of public toilets were found to be significantly associated with current infections(P<0.05).This study demonstrated that the prevalence of intestinal infections was low among the pupils studied,and that Ascaris infection was the commonest infestation.

Objective:To investigate the activity of the active principle in the spines of the seed pods of Mucuna pruriens using contraction of guinea pig ileum as index of pharmacological activity. Methods:The active principle was extracted with 0.0015 M *** strips of guinea pig ileum were prepared and contractile responses were measured using a *** sets of experiment were conducted:（1）.The contraction of the ileum in presence of different concentrations of histamine,2-methylhistamine and the extract of Mucuna pruriens.（2）.The contractile response of the ileum in presence of different concentrations of the extract and antagonists including diphenhydramine,atropine and ***:（1） The extract of Mucuna pruriens hair, 2- methylhistamine and histamine produced dose dependent contraction of guinea pig ileum (Extract ED50 = 13.0μg/mL,2-methylhistamine ED50=8.5μg/mL and histamine ED50=10.0μg/ mL).（2） Diphenhydramine,an H,antagonist competitively blocked the contractile response of the Mucuna pruriens extract（3） Coadminstration of the Mucuna pruriens extract either with different doses of antimuscarinic agent atropine or 5-hydroxytryptamine blocking agent methysergide did not alter the extract induced contractile response of the guinea pig ***:These results demonstrate that the spines of Mucuna pruriens possess histamine activity which may contribute to its itching and painful irritation effects.

Objective:To evaluate the antiarthritic activity of water extract of leaves of Vernonia amygdalina(V.A.) on arthritis induced model of ***:Arthritis was induced in male albino Wister rats by injection of croton oil(0.1 mL) into the left foot pad of the *** with *** 200 and 400 mg/kg and standard Indomethacin(0.3 mg/kg) was started on the same day and continued up to the 12th *** paw volume was measured on the 1st,5th,12th and 21st day,respectively for both the paws and anti-arthritic activity was ***:The extract of *** reduction in the inflammation of the paw due to croton *** antiarthritic action started on the 5th day and continued till the 12th day and the activity was comparable to that of the standard on both *** inhibited adjuvant induced arthritis and had significant ant-inflammatory effect(P<0.05).Conclusion:This report therefore clearly showed that *** inhibited adjuvant induced arthritis in rats as it significantly reduced the paw volume on the 12th day and may explain the effectiveness of this plant when used in the tropics for the treatment of arthritis.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of extract of Abrus precatorius on blood glucose of alloxan induced albino wistar ***:Experimental animals received daily oral administration of extract of Abrus precatorius for 14 *** effect of 200 mg/kg dose was studied during the treatment ***:There was a significant reduction in blood glucose concentration(P < 0.05) with the mean blood glucose of the different groups as 5.0±0.3 for normal control,7.0±0.4 for diabetic control group and 4.0±0.2 for diabetic treated group. Conclusion:The findings of this study suggest that extract of Abrus precatorius has hypoglycemic effect.

Objective:To investigate the acute and delayed anti-inflammatory effects of Morning oleifera lam（MOL） crude methanolic ***:Compared the anti-inflammatory effects of MOL with that of standard anti-inflammatory agents like indomethacin and hydrocortisone using Air Pouch ***:In both acute and delayed inflammation,the MOL extract produced dose dependent anti-inflammatory effect[acute IC50=（399.30±5.43） mg/kg;delayed IC50=（510.26±4.53） mg/kg].The order of anti-inflammatory potency for the three drugs was hydrocortisone> indomethacin > ***:These observations indicate that MOL possesses potential anti-inflammatory property.

During surveys of extremophilic fungi in hypersaline,alkaline lakes of Wadi-El-Natron,Egypt,an interesting fungus was recovered from a mud sample collected from Lake Hamra in Wadi-El-Natron,*** likelihood analysis of Internal Transcribed Spacer(ITS)gene along with morphological comparisons of related taxa revealed a novel taxon,Paracremonium moubasheri which is described and illustrated in the current *** moubasheri can be distinguished from the known species of the genus by its large conidia,in addition to the presence of chlamydospores.
