Cigarette butts(CBs)are one of the most common types of litter in the *** to the toxic substan.e. they contain,the waste generated poses a harmful risk to the environ.e.t,and therefore there is an urgent n.e. for alternative solutions to landfill ***,this work presents a possible revalorization of this waste material,which implies in.e.esting environ.e.tal *** were used as sacrificial templates for the preparation of CaO-based materials by impregnation with calcium and magnesium nitrates followed by flaming *** materials presen.e. enhan.e. porosity for their use in the Calcium Looping process applied either to thermochemical energy storage or CO_(2)capture *** influen.e.of the con.e.tration of Ca and Mg in the impregnating solutions on the multicycle reactivity of the samples was *** improved multicycle performan.e.was obtained in terms of con.e.sion for both applications.

For the dynamics of three-dimensional electron–positron–ion plasmas, a fluid quantum hydrodynamic model is proposed by considering Landau quantization.e.fects in den.e.***–neutral collisions in the presen.e.of the Coriolis force are also considered. The application of the reductive perturbation technique produces a wave evolution.e.uation represen.e. by a damped Korteweg–de Vries equation. This equation, however, is insufficient for describing waves in our system at very low dispersion coefficients. As a result, we considered the highest-order perturbation, which resulted in the damped Kawahara equation. The effects of the magnetic field, Landau quantization, the ratio of positron density to electron density, the ratio of positron density to ion density, and the direction cosine on linear dispersion laws as well as soliton and conoidal solutions of the damped Kawahara equation are explored. The un.e.standing from this research can contribute to the broader field of astrophysics and aid in the in.e.pretation of observational data from white dwarfs.

In today’s manufacturing industries,hard competition between rival firms makes it compulsory for researchers to design lighter and cheaper machine components due to the megatrends of cost-effectiveness and *** this point,aluminum syntactic foams(ASFs)are new-generation.e.gin.e.ing composites and come into the upfront as a *** to their features like low density,sufficient elongation,and perfect energy absorption ability,these advan.e. foams have been considerably seductive for many industrial sectors *** this study,an industrial-orien.e. automatic die casting technology was used for the first time to manufacture the combination of AA7075/porous expan.e. clay(PeC).Micro evaluations(optical and FeSeM)reveal that there is a homogenous particle distribution in the foam samples,and inspections are compatible with the other ASF ***,T6 aging heat treatment was operated on one half of the produced foams to explore the probable impact of aging on the compressive *** results show that PeC particles can be an alternative to expensive hollow spheres used in the previous ***,a favorable relationship is ascertained between the aging treatment and mechanical properties such as compression strength and plateau strength.

Predicting effects of tun.e. throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow by a continuum model

Fluid flow throttling is common in industrial and building services engin.e.ing. Similar tun.e. throttling of vehicular flow is caused by the abrupt number reduction of roadway lane, as the tun.e. has a lower lane number than in the roadway normal segment. To predict the effects of tun.e. throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow, a three-lane continuum model is developed. Lane Ⅲ of the tun.e. is completely blocked due to the n.e. of tun.e. rehabilitation, etc. There exists mandatory net lane-changing rate from lane Ⅲ to lane Ⅱ just upstream of the tun.e. entran.e. which is described by a model of random number generated through a golden section analysis. The net-changing rate between adjacent lanes is modeled using a lane-changing time expressed explicitly in algebraic form. This paper assumes that the annular freeway has a total length of 100 km, a two-lane tun.e. of length 2 km with a speed limit of 80 km/h. The free flow speeds on lanes Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ are assumed to be 110, 100 and 90 km/h respectively. Based on the three-lane continuum model, numerical simulations of vehicular flows on the annular freeway with such a tun.e. are conducted with a reliable numerical method of 3rd-order accuracy. numerical results reveal that the vehicular flow has a smaller threshold of traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tun.e. throttling. Vehicle fuel consumption can be estimated by in.e.polation with time averaged grid traffic speed and an assumed curve of vehicle performan.e. The vehicle fuel consumption is lane number depen.e.t, distributes with initial density concavely, ranging from 5.56 to 8.00 L. Tun.e. throttling leads to an.e.rlier traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tun.e. throttling.

Cold spells and severe weather may have detrimental effects in wild birds,but owing to the stochastic nature of these events,it is not always possible to measure their *** January 2021,a strong snowstorm known as‘Filomena’affected Spain,mainly the region of Madrid(Central Spain),which was fully covered with snow and suffered freezing temperatures for a *** bird surveys conducted in the win.e.-spring of 2020 and 2021(before and after Filomena)at same locations,we addressed the possible impact of the cold spell in three widespread gamebirds:Wood Pigeon(Columba palumbus),eurasian Magpie(Pica pica)and Red-legged Partridge(Alectoris rufa).no significant abundan.e.differen.e. were found between years for none of the species and hunting pressure was only significantly reduced for Partridges,hen.e.this species may have been negatively affected by *** suggest that in respon.e.to Filomena,Pigeons conducted partial migration in search of better conditions,while Magpies aggregated in certain areas of Madrid and Partridges endured the harsh conditions within their home *** results highlight the importan.e.to alleviate negative impacts of extreme weather events in wild birds through management actions,especially for sedentary species.

nestling growth of birds can be affected by weather *** general,it is expected that higher temper-atures favor growth by improving food availability and nestling metabolism,while rain hin.e.s it by reducing foraging ***,most of these patterns have been described in in.e.tivorous cavity-nesting birds in temperate *** tested these predictions in two neotropical grassland ground-nesting birds with contrasting nestling diets and therefore potentially different respon.e. to *** measured nestlings of the Hellmayr’s Pipit(Anthus hellmayri,an in.e.tivorous passerine)and the Grassland Yellow-Finch(Sicalis luteola,which feeds its nestlings exclusively with seeds)during three breeding seasons(2017-2020)in central-eastern *** took measurements of tarsus and body mass,modeled growth curves using nonlinear mixed-effects models,and evaluated the effects of minimum daily temperature and precipitation during the growth period and the 30 days prior to *** pipits(60 nestlings from 21 nests),minimum temperatures during the growth period were positively associated with tarsus and body mass ***,there was a positive association between precipitation during the pre-hatching period and tarsus ***,none of the weather variables analyzed had significant effects on nestling growth of finches(131 nestlings from 35 nests).Dietary contrast between species may explain the different *** activity and abundan.e.can be affected by weather variations within the span of a breeding season,whereas seeds may depend on conditions from previous years,making the effects harder to *** with reduced asymptotic size can have reduced chan.e. of ***,pipit populations could be impacted if they experien.e.cold and dry conditions during their breeding season,which is of major relevan.e.in the current con.e.t of climate chan.e.
