Growth of Micropropagated Solanum tuberosum *** under Artificial Solar Spectrum and Different Mono-and Polychromatic LeD Lights

In agriculture,LeD light sources have increasingly replaced the standard luminescent lamps and have acquired an important role in plant *** studied the effect of different light sources such as narrow-band LeDs(bright blue,blue,green,yellow,deep red,and red)and wide-band LeDs(cold white,white,warm white,full spectrum,and an artificial solar spectrum sun box constructed by us)on development of potato plantlets in *** luminescent lamps were used as a *** light intensity of 49μmol·m^(-2)·s^(-1)was provided in all light *** showed that the long-wave narrow-band light treatments were inapplicable for potato micropropagation,because plantlets were weak with small leaves,inhibited roots,and significantly elongated *** lights provided growth of shortened plantlets with large leaves,well-growing roots,and abundant green *** chlorophyll content was lower under blue and bright blue light and was at the same level in the remained *** differences in the stomatal apparatus development were observed depending on the light *** differences were not always reflected in the plantlet phenotype:e.g.,plantlets under blue and bright blue lights showed no differences in any characteristics except stomatal density and size of stomatal guard *** found no significant effect of blue light portion in the white lights and full spectrum on plantlet *** artificial solar spectrum sun box was the most suitable for potato micropropagation,because it supported the development of plantlets with good fitness,uniform internodes length,abundant roots and green mass accumulation.

In this work,38 different organic emerging contaminants(eCs),belonging to various chemical classes such as pharmaceuticals(PhCs),endocrine-disrupting chemicals(eDCs),benzotriazoles(BTRs),benzothiazoles(BTHs),and perfluorinated compounds(PFCs),were initially identified and quantified in the biologically treated wastewater collected from Athens’(Greece)Sewage Treatment Plant(STP).Processes already used in existing STPs such as microfiltration(MF),nanofiltration(NF),ultrafiltration(UF),UV radiation,and powdered activated carbon(PAC)were assessed for eCs’removal,under the conditions that represent their actual application for disinfection or advanced wastewater *** results indicated that MF removed only one out of the 38 eCs and hence it was selected as pretreatment step for the other *** radiation in the studied conditions showed low to moderate removal for 5 out of the 38 *** showed better results than UF due to the smaller pore sizes of the filtration ***,this enhancement was observed mainly for 8 compounds originating from the classes of PhCs and PFCs,while the removal of eDCs was not statistically *** the various studied technologies,PAC stands out due to its capability to sufficiently remove most *** particular,removal rates higher than 70%were observed for 9 compounds,22 were partially removed,while 7 demonstrated low removal *** on our screening experiments,future research should focus on scaling-up PAC in actual conditions,combining PAC with other processes,and conduct a complete economic and environmental assessment of the treatment.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary free fatty acid(FFA)content and degree of fat saturation on production performance,lipid and calcium digestibility,and intestinal function of laying *** a 15-week period,a total of 144 laying hens(19 weeks old)were randomly assigned to 8 dietary treatments,which were obtained by gradually replacing crude soybean oil with soybean acid oil(AO),or crude palm oil with palm fatty acid distillate(FAD).Thus,there were 4 soybean and 4 palm diets with 6%added fat varying in their FFA percentage(10%,20%,30%,and 45%),following a 2×4 factorial *** treatment included 6 replicates with 3 birds per *** daily feed intake and final body weight were significantly higher in palm diets(Pe no differences were found in egg mass and feed conversion *** levels of FFA in soybean diets resulted in lower egg production and higher egg weight(linear,Pegarding the degree of fat saturation,hens fed soybean diets presented higher digestibility of ether extract(ee),fatty acids,and calcium than palm diets(Pe dietary FFA percentage negatively affected the digestibility of ee and calcium(Pe having little effect on FA *** was a significant interaction in the AMe;lower values were reported in soybean diets as the dietary FFA percentage increased(linear,Pereas palm diets remained *** experimental diets had little effect on gastrointestinal weight and ***,the jejunum of soybean diets showed higher villus height and higher villus height-to-crypt depth ratio than palm diets(Pe dietary FFA percentage increased the crypt depth and decreased the villus height-to-crypt depth ratio(linear,Ped that varying dietary FFA content did not affect fat utilization as much as the degree of saturation did,supporting the use of AO and FAD as alternative fat ingredients.

The Biochemical Reduction Of Both Nitrate And Sulfate In U-Containing Aquifers Of The Novosibirsk Plant Of Chemical Concentrates (NPCC) Was Investigated experimentally And Thermodynamically. It Was Observed That Decrease In eh Up To -397 Mv Has A Distinct effect On The Denitrification And Uranium Precipitation As UO2(S). Nitrate Was Denitrified With A Temporary Accumulation Of The Intermediate Nitrite On The Day 4th. According To The X-Ray Fluorescence Analysis And Thermodynamic Calculations, More Than Half Of The Uranium Is Deposited In The First Stage As UO2+X oxides, And The Rest, Together With The Sulfides In The Reducing environment. Findings Suggest That Accurately Thermodynamic Predicting Of Groundwater NO3-;?And SO42- Fate Is Primarily Limited By Failing To Account For A Kinetic Of Redox Fluctuations In The experiment: 1) Measured eh +190 Mv Is Low Despite The High Amount Of Nitrates (1124 Mg/L), But NH4+ Predominates In Solution According To Calculations, 2) Sulfate Reduction Lagged Behind Nitrate Reduction By Approximately 50 Days Unlike Model Simulation.

Clustered c-Fos Activation in Rat Hippocampus at the Acquisition Stage of Appetitive Instrumental Learning

To address the issue of how hippocampal neurons are involved into learning progress, we studied c-Fos expression in rat hippocampal subfields at different stages of appetitive instrumental learning. To model the first stage of learning, we pre-trained animals to approach the lever to obtain the food, and then made this behavior ineffective by not reinforcing it during the last session (“mismatch” group). Another group just acquired lever-pressing behavior at that day (“acquisition” group). Animals of the third group performed this well-trained behavior (“performance” group). The number of Fos-positive neurons in all hippocampal regions of the “mismatch” group animals was higher than in the ones of the home cage control group animals. The number of Fos-positive neurons was increased in CA1 and CA3 areas, but not in the dentate gyrus of both the “acquisition” and “performance” group animals as compared with the control group. We also found segmented c-Fos expression, which was more evident in “acquisition” group animals. Thus, our results suggest that during the first (mismatch) stage of learning hippocampal neurons are activated in an equally distributed manner. The following clustered pattern of activated CA1 neurons during the acquisition stage may reflect specialization of these neurons in respect to the specific lever-pressing behavior.
