SARS-CoV-2 aberrantly elevates mitochondrial bioenergetics to induce robust virus propagation

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)is a‘highly transmissible respiratory pathogen,leading to severe multiorgan ***,knowledge regarding SARS-CoV-2-induced cellular alterations is *** this study,we report that SARSCoV-2 aberrantly elevates mitochondrial bioenergetics and activates the EGFR-mediated cell survival signal cascade during the early stage of viral ***-CoV-2 causes an increase in mitochondrial transmembrane potential via the SARS-CoV-2 RNAnucleocapsid cluster,thereby abnormally promoting mitochondrial elongation and the OXPHOS process,followed by enhancing ATP ***,SARS-CoV-2 activates the EGFR signal cascade and subsequently induces mitochondrial EGFR trafficking,contributing to abnormal OXPHOS process and viral *** EGFR inhibitors remarkably reduce SARS-CoV-2 propagation,among which vandetanib exhibits the highest antiviral *** of SARS-CoV-2-infected cells with vandetanib decreases SARS-CoV-2-induced EGFR trafficking to the mitochondria and restores SARS-CoV-2-induced aberrant elevation in OXPHOS process and ATP generation,thereby resulting in the reduction of SARS-CoV-2 ***,oral administration of vandetanib to SARS-CoV-2-infected hACE2 transgenic mice reduces SARS-CoV-2 propagation in lung tissue and mitigates SARS-CoV-2-induced lung *** also exhibits potent antiviral activity against various SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern,including alpha,beta,delta and omicron,in in vitro cell culture *** together,our findings provide novel insight into SARS-CoV-2-induced alterations in mitochondrial dynamics and EGFR trafficking during the early stage of viral infection and their roles in robust SARS-CoV-2 propagation,suggesting that EGFR is an attractive host target for combating COVID-19.

Zircon U-Pb ages and O-Hf isotopes of Quaternary trachytes from the East Sea:Implications for the genesis of low-δ^(18)O magmas

Quaternary intraplate magmatism formed several volcanic islands and seamounts,including Dokdo(DD),Ulleungdo(UD),Simheungtack(ST),Anyongbok,and Isabu in the southwest of the East Sea back-arc *** this study,we present whole-rock geochemical,zircon U–Pb age,and in situ O–Hf isotope data for the submerged volcanic rocks from DD,UD,and ST to provide new insights into the eruption timing of these volcanoes and constrain the magma evolution *** samples used in this study were trachytes and exhibited ferroan,alkalic,and metaluminous to weakly peraluminous *** showed light rare earth element(REE)-enriched patterns with(La/Yb)N ratios of 25.3–31.7 and mostly negative Eu anomalies in a chondrite-normalized REE *** addition,they were enriched in large-ion lithophile elements and high field strength elements;they exhibited positive Pb anomalies and strongly negative Ba,Sr,P,and Ti *** zircons yielded a weighted-mean 206Pb/238U age of 2.61,0.348–0.704,and 2.76–2.94 Ma for the DD,UD,and ST trachytes,*** zircons exhibited lowerδ^(18)O values than normal depleted mantle values,regardless of the crystallization age and spatial distribution of ***δ^(18)O values showed no correlation with U contents or Th/U ratios,indicating that the lowδ^(18)O signatures were of primary magmatic *** Hf isotopic compositions of the zircons were relatively heterogeneous but predominately characterized by positive eHf *** O–Hf mixing modeling revealed that low-δ^(18)O rocks with positive eHf values from the UD and ST volcanoes were derived from a hybrid source of recycled juvenile crustal materials with low-δ^(18)O and positive eHf signatures and an enriched mantle source with normalδ^(18)O and negative eHf *** juvenile oceanic crust in the source was likely metasomatized by seawater at high temperatures prior to *** contrast,the felsic magma that formed the DD volcanoes may have assimilated with regional

Solid-phase Extraction of β-Sitosterol from Oldenlandia diffusa Using Molecular Imprinting Polymer

The β-sitosterol imprinted polymer was prepared for selective extraction and analysis of β-sitosterol from Old-enlandia diffusa （0. diffusa） followed by HPLC with UV detection. The imprinted polymers show high affinity and selectivity to β-sitosterol. Using this molecularly imprinted polymer （MIP） cartridge as solid-phase extraction （SPE） material, the interferences could be quickly washed out and β-sitosterol was selectively retained and enriched. HPLC analysis method was used to evaluate the characteristics of this MIP material. At the condition of mobile phase composed of Meoh/H20/H3PO4 （99/1/0.1, V/V/V, pH=6.0） and the flow rate of 1.0 mL·min -1, a good linear relationship was demonstrated when the concentrations of β-sitosterol were in the range of 0.50--100.0 μg·mL-1. The recoveries ranged from 75.3% to 86.5% and the inter-day and intra-day relative standard deviations were less than 5%. This developed HPLC method was proved to be acceptable for extraction offl-sitosterol from O. diffusa.

Optimizing the thickness of Ta_(2)O_(5) interfacial barrier layer to limit the oxidization of Ta ohmic interface and ZrO_(2) switching layer for multilevel data storage

The multilevel storage capability of nonvolatile resistive random access memory(ReRAM)is greatly de-sired to accomplish high functioning memory *** this study,Ta_(2)O_(5) thin film with different thick-nesses(2,4,and 6 nm)was exploited as an appropriate interfacial barrier layer for limiting the formation of the interfacial layer between the 10 nm thick sputtering deposited resistive switching(RS)layer and Ta ohmic electrode to improve the switching cycle endurance and *** show that lower form-ing voltage,narrow distribution of SET-voltages,good dc switching cycles(10^(3)),high pulse endurance(10^(6) cycles),long retention time(10^(4) s at room temperature and 100℃),and reliable multilevel resis-tance states were obtained at an appropriate thickness of∼2 nm Ta_(2)O_(5) interfacial barrier layer instead of without Ta_(2)O_(5) and with∼4 nm,and∼6 nm Ta_(2)O_(5) barrier layer,ZrO_(2)-based memristive ***,multilevel resistance states have been scientifically investigated via modulating the compliance current(CC)and RESET-stop voltages,which displays that all of the resistance states were distinct and stayed stable without any considerable deprivation over 10^(4) s retention time and 104 pulse endurance *** I-V characteristics of RESET-stop voltage(from−1.7 to−2.3 V)of HRS are found to be a good linear fit with the Schottky *** can be seen that Schottky barrier height rises by increasing the stop-voltage during RESET-operation,resulting in enhancing the data storage memory window(on/offratio).Moreover,RESET-voltage and CC control of HRS and LRS revealed the physical origin of the RS mecha-nism,which entails the formation and rupture of conducting *** is thoroughly investigated that proper optimization of the barrier layer at the ohmic interface and the switching layer is essential in memristive *** results demonstrate that the ZrO_(2)-based memristive device with an optimized∼2 nm Ta_(2)O_(5) barrier

Objective:Precision medicine approaches emphasize the importance of reliable prognostic tools for guiding individualized therapy *** this study,we evaluated the clinical feasibility of the single patient classifier(SPC)test,a new clinical-grade prognostic assay,in stageⅡ-Ⅲgastric cancer ***:A prospective multicenter study was conducted,involving 237 patients who underwent gastrectomy between September 2019 and August 2020 across nine *** SPC test was employed to stratify patients into risk groups,and its feasibility and performance were *** primary endpoint was the proportion of the cases in which the test results were timely delivered before selecting postoperative ***,3-year disease-free survivals of risk groups were ***:The SPC test met the primary endpoint *** 99.5%of SPC tests were timely delivered to hospitals before the postoperative treatment *** a clinical setting,the median time from the specimen transfer to laboratory to the result delivery to hospital was 4 ***,3-year disease-free survivals were significantly different between risk groups classified with SPC ***:This study highlights the SPC test's feasibility in offering crucial information timely delivered for making informed decisions regarding postoperative treatment *** also provides evidence to support the implementation of a future prospective clinical trial aimed at evaluating the clinical utility of the SPC test in guiding personalized treatment decisions for gastric cancer patients.

Objective:To elucidate the characteristics,management strategies,risk factors,and clinical impacts associated with adverse drug reactions(ADRs)induced by first-line antitubercular drugs to enhance tuberculosis(TB)***:A retrospective cohort study was conducted by retrieving drug-susceptible TB records among adult patients who received TB treatment from 2018 to 2021 at 10 public health clinics in Sarawak,*** the initial TB treatment and occurrence of specific ADRs within the study period were *** analysis was performed to identify the risk factors associated with both overall ADRs and individual types of ***:Among 2953 cases,705(23.9%)developed *** reactions were the most prevalent(47.1%),followed by hepatotoxicity(32.8%)and gastrointestinal disturbances(29.8%).Six out of seven types of ADRs investigated occurred within the intensive phase,mostly manifesting at approximately 2 weeks of *** resulted in the majority(85.3%)of treatment discontinuations,while vision problems led to treatment modifications in half of the *** factors for all ADRs included age≥60 years,females,illicit drug use,and comorbidities such as HIV-positive,diabetes,and chronic liver *** consumption was independently associated with *** caused around one-third of interruptions exceeding 2 weeks(33.0%)and subsequently necessitated treatment restarts(34.5%).Conclusions:Understanding these various aspects contributes to improving the overall management of ADRs in TB *** ADR monitoring and reporting are essential to strengthen ADR management.

Bi2Te3-based materials have drawn much attention from the thermoelectric community due to their excellent thermoelectric performance near room ***,the stability of existing n-type Bi2（Te,Se）3materials is still low due to the evaporation energy of Se (37.70 kJ mol-1) being much lower than that of Te (52.55 kJ mol-1).The evaporated Se from the material causes problems in interconnects of the module while degrading the efficiency.

Air Filter Simulation by Geodict

In this paper, we discussed the relationship of filter effictency and pressure drop with the porosity, fiber diameter and filter thickness by Oeodict. We found that filter efficiency will increase when filter porosity and fiber diameter decreasing or filter thickness increasing. And the pressure drop has a linear relationship with filter thickness and non-linear relationship with filter porosity and fiber diameter. We also compared the simulation results with the real test results by TSI 3160. Although there are some differences, I think Ocodict can be used to predict filter effictency and pressure drop.

Stabilization of the Anatase Phase of Ti_(1-x)Sn_(x)O_(2) (x < 0.5) Nanofibers

We experimentally investigate the stabilization of the anatase phase of Ti_(1-x)Sn_(x)O_(2)(x<0.5)nanofibers when synthesized by an electrospinning *** as-spun nanofibers became nano-grained,polycrystalline nanofibers after calcination and the diameters of the nanofibers depend on Sn *** of the anatase phase in Ti-rich compositions and incorporation of Sn ions were confirmed by X-ray diffraction,Raman,X-ray absorption near-edge structure,and photoluminescence(PL)*** from the PL study also demonstrated the tunable nature of the optical properties,with the emission maximum shifting towards higher wavelength with increasing Sn concentration.
