The Precambrian basement complex in the southernmost part of North-central Nigeria is underlain by migmatitic banded gneisses, granitic intrusions and dykes of dolerite, rhyolite porphyry and pegmatite. The rocks are generally fels.c. containing modal and normative hypersthene, as well as normative corundum. The basement complex has experienced high-grade regional metamorphism as indicated by the presence of hypersthene and plagioclase of andesine composition. Anatectic melting is suggested by the occurrence of ptygmatic folds, folded gneissose foliation, numerous quartzo-feldspathic veins and lenses of dark-colured, micaceous schistose rocks. Geochemically, the rocks have magnesian, calc-alkalic and strongly peraluminous.c.aracteristics. Their overall characteristics suggest derivation from progressive (fractional) partial melting of pelitic rocks during high-grade regional metamorphism, possibly ass.c.ated with intense hydrothermal activities. The magnesian characteristics reflect close affinity to relatively hydrous, oxidizing melts and source regions in settings broadly related to subduction.

In this paper, the mechanical response of a one-dimensional (1D) hexagonal piezoelectric quas.c.ystal (PQc) thin film is analyzed under electric and temperature loads. Based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, a theoretical model is proposed, resulting in coupled governing integral equations that account for interfacial normal and shear stresses. To numerically solve these integral equations, an expansion method using orthogonal chebyshev polynomials is employed. The results provide insights into the interfacial stresses, axial force, as well as axial and vertical deformations of the PQc ***, fracture criteria, including stress intensity factors, mode angles, and the Jintegral, are evaluated. The solution is.c.mpared with the membrane theory, neglecting the normal stress and bending deformation. Finally, the effects of stiffness and aspect ratio on the PQc film are thoroughly discussed. This study serves as a valuable guide for controlling the mechanical response and conducting safety assessments of PQc film systems.

Organic solar cells(Oscs) hold great potential as a photovoltaic technology for practical ***, the traditional experimental trial-and-error method for designing and engineering Oscs.c.n be complex, expensive, and time-consuming. Machine learning(ML) techniques enable the proficient extraction of information from datasets, allowing the development of realistic models that are capable of predicting the efficacy of materials with commendable accuracy. The PM6 donor has great potential for high-performance Oscs. However, it is.c.ucial for the rational design of a ternary blend to accurately forecast the power conversion efficiency(PcE) of ternary Oscs(TOscs) based on a PM6 ***, we collected the device parameters of PM6-based TOscs and evaluated the feature importance of their molecule descriptors to develop predictive models. In this study, we used five different ML algorithms for analysis and prediction. For the analysis, the classification and regression tree provided different rules, heuristics, and patterns from the heterogeneous dataset. The random forest algorithm outperforms other prediction ML algorithms in predicting the output performance of PM6-based TOscs. Finally, we validated the ML outcomes by fabricating PM6-based TOscs. Our study presents a rapid strategy for assessing a high PcE while elucidating the substantial influence of diverse descriptors.

Nano phosphors of 2%Dy^(3+)(wt%)doped La_(2)MgTiO_(6) and monovalent/divalent/trivalent co-doped La_(1.98)Dy_(0.02)MgTiO_(6):x%A^(y+)(A^(y+):Li+,Ba^(2+),sr^(2+),Bi^(3+),and sm^(3+);0≤x≤2 wt%)were synthesized by combustion *** the XRD data,it is deduced that an increase in the valency of co-dopant increases the crystallinity of the double perovskite orthorhombic nanocrystal *** an increase in co-dopant size,an elevation in optical bandgap is visible with the highest bandgap of 3.835 eV for Bi^(3+).The photo-absorption is monotonically broadened for sr^(2+),sm^(3+),and Li+around 200-450 ***351 nm,Dy^(3+)triggered lattice shows major characteristic emission peaks at 480 nm(^(4)F_(9/2)→^(6)H_(15/2)),574 nm(^(4)F_(9/2)→^(6)H_(13/2)),and 670 nm(^(4)F_(9/2)→^(6)H_(11/2)).leading to near white light emission with cIE coordinates(0.341,0.376).Upon co-doping,the PL intensity is significantly increased with maximum emission for trivalent sm^(3+),followed by divalent sr^(2+)and monovalent Li+*** increasing excitation wavelength,sr^(2+)shows a dominated output and it is found that divalent sr^(2+)is a potential codopant that could enhance luminescence intensity up to 6 times with a sr^(2+)→Dy^(3+)energy transfer efficiency of 86%.It is specified that the cIE coordinates of Li+co-doped samples show ideal white emission with color coordinates(0.333,0.336).The concluding outcomes signify the noblest rare earth sm^(3+)co-doping and thus sm^(3+)→Dy^(3+)energy transfer mechanism is discussed in detail.

Petrological and geochemical studies on some volcanic and sub-volcanic rocks from the Lower Benue rift indicate that they are basalts, basaltic and doleritic sills, trachybasalt and trachyte which generally belong to the alkali basalt series. The alkaline affinity is.c.early evident in both their normative and modal mineral compositions, as well as their chemical compositions. The generally high fractionation indices [(La/Yb)N] are 7.06 to 17.65 for the basaltic rocks and 23.59 to 135. 35 for the trachytic rocks, against low values.c.mmonly seen in subalkaline (tholeiitic) series, with strong enrichments in the incompatible elements. All this strongly supports their alkaline affinity. The basaltic rocks are generally fine-grained and porphyritic, consisting of phenocrysts of clinopyroxene and olivine in the groundmass of the same minerals together with plagioclase. The clinopyroxene is either diopside or clinoenstatite. The trachyte consists of oligoclase, orthoclase, biotite, quartz and exhibits typical trachytic, flow structure. The basaltic and doleritic sills are commonly altered, with calcite and epidote as.c.mmon alteration prod-ucts. This alteration, which is reflected in the erratic behaviour of K2O, MnO and P2O5 on Harker variation diagrams, high values of LOI, strong depletions in the more mobile LILE (Rb, K, Ba and sr) and high Th/Ta ratios, is attributed to the effects of an aqueous fluid phase and crustal contamination. On the whole, the mineralogical, as well as major-, trace-elements and REE data suggest that the rocks are co-genetic and most likely derived from differentiation of an alkali olivine-basalt magma, generating through variable low degrees of partial melting of probably an enriched lithospheric (upper) mantle following an asthenospheric uplift (mantle plume or intumescence) with HIMU signa-tures in a within-plate continental rift tectonic setting. This.c.rroborates earlier results obtained for the intrusive rocks in the region.

Traditional Ecological Knowledge and community-based Natural Resource Management in Northeast India

community-based natural resource management in northeast India has a long history. Indigenous knowledge and adaptation are the collective information, with improvement from generation to generation. The expectation is that under community control, local expertise on biodiversity will play a significant role in natural resource management through traditional practices. This paper discusses the characteristics and application of the traditional ecological knowledge of aboriginal peoples in northeast India and its role in natural resource management. Examples are provided in two different eco-cultural landscapes, i.e., Demazong (the Buddhist eco-cultural landscape in sikkim Himalaya) and the Apatani eco-cultural landscape in Arunachal Pradesh, which illustrate the utility value of traditional ecological knowledge in sustainable natural resource management. Both eco-cultural landscapes are indeed very complex and highly evolved systems with high levels of economic and ecological efficiencies. The paper concludes that traditional ecological knowledge systems and institutions.c.uld serve as entry points into the sustainable utilization and management of natural resources. This.c.uld be achieved through the exploration of the cultural practices of the local people and integrating useful aspects into the modern natural resource management expertise. With rapidly depleting biodiversity in the developing tropic regions, there is a greater utilization today than ever before of the value of respecting the "s.c.ed" as a tool towards better conservation of natural resources.
