This paper proposed and evaluated an estimation method for indoor *** method combines location fingerprinting and dead reckoning differently from the conventional *** uses compound location fingerprints,which are composed of radio fingerprints at multiple points of time,that is,at multiple positions,and displacements between them estimated by dead *** avoid errors accumulated from dead reckoning,the method uses short-range dead *** method was evaluated using 16 Bluetooth beacons installed in a student room with the dimensions of 11×5 m with furniture *** Received Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI)values of the beacons were collected at 30 measuring points,which were points at the intersections on a 1×1 m grid with no obstacles.A compound location fingerprint is composed of RSSI vectors at two points and a displacement vector between *** Forests(RF)was used to build regression models to estimate positions from location *** root mean square error of position estimation was 0.87 m using 16 Bluetooth *** error is lower than that received with a single-point baseline model,where a feature vector is composed of only RSSI values at one *** results suggest that the proposed method is effective for indoor positioning.

AIM: To determine whether the expression profiles of Eph B receptor and ephrin-B ligand can be used as markers for dysplastic/oncogenic transformation in gastric ***: The protein expression and localization ofEph B and ephrin-B in normal, ulcerated regenerating, and dysplastic gastric mucosa were examined in a rat experimental model by immunolabeling, and m RNA expression was assessed in four human gastric carcinoma cell lines by reverse transcription-polymerase chain ***: Ephrin-B- and Eph B-expressing regions were divided along the pit-gland axis in normal gastric units. Eph B2 was transiently upregulated in the experimental ulcer, and its expression domain extended to gastric pits and/or the luminal surface where ephrin-B-expressing pit cells reside. Eph B2, B3, and B4 and ephrin-B1 were coexpressed in the experimental gastric dysplasia, and more than one ligand-receptor pair was highly expressed in each of the gastric carcinoma cell ***: Robust and stable coexpression of Eph B and ephrin-B is a feature common to experimentally induced gastric dysplasia and human gastric carcinoma cell lines as compared to normal gastric and ulcerated regenerating epithelia. Thus, Eph B/ephrin-B may be a useful marker combination for dysplastic/oncogenic transformation in gastric cancer.

A novel method of thin film formation of organic materials with nano-strucure has been successfully developed by using vacuum technique is proposed. The diarylethene(C18H18N2S2)was selected as a model compound for the evaluation of this ***,we found that the tendency of dye dispersion into the polymer is as follows:PC>PBzMA>PMMA>PHPMA,where no dispersion is observed for PHPMA under the condition of 115℃ for 24 hours ,Thin film of polymer alloy composed of PMMA and polystylene(PS) was loaded into a glass ample with diarylethene,and treated for three days at 100℃,Dispersed state of the dye was evaluated by transmission electron microscope,and concluded that the dye is distributed only in PS domains *** properties of the PS domain will be evaluated by using a scanning nearfield optical microscope.

AIM:To investigate whether a stapled technique is superior to the conventional hand-sewn technique for gastro/duodenojejunostomy during pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy(PpPD).METHODS:In October 2010,we introduced a mechanical anastomotic technique of gastro-or duodenojejunostomy using staplers during *** compared clinical outcomes between 19 patients who underwent PpPD with a stapled gastro/duodenojejunostomy(stapled anastomosis group)and 19 patients who underwent PpPD with a conventional hand-sewn duodenojejunostomy(hand-sewn anastomosis group).RESULTS:The time required for reconstruction was significantly shorter in the stapled anastomosis group than in the hand-sewn anastomosis group(186.0±29.4 min vs 219.7±50.0 min,P=0.02).In addition,intraoperative blood loss was significantly less(391.0±212.0 mL vs 647.1±482.1 mL,P=0.03)and the time to oral intake was significantly shorter(5.4±1.7d vs 11.3±7.9 d,P=0.002)in the stapled anastomosis group than in the hand-sewn anastomosis *** were no differences in the incidences of delayed gastric emptying and other postoperative complications between the ***:These results suggest that stapled gastro/duodenojejunostomy shortens reconstruction time during PpPD without affecting the incidence of delayed gastric emptying.

Since the classical investigation of the Taylor vortex by G. I. Taylor in 1923, many researchers have studied the Taylor vortex as one of the most important vortex types in flow. In this study, the inner cylinder is rotating, while the outer cylinder, which is concentric with the inner cylinder, is stationary. In addition, the measurement of the velocity distribution is carried out by the PIV （Particle Image Velocimetry） method. The radius of the inner cylinder is 20 mm, and that of the outer cylinder is 30 mm. In this study, Re = 650-1,200 is assumed. In the upper part of the apparatus, movable ends are fixed to the upper and lower sides of the cylinder to change the aspect ratio. The aspect ratio is defined as the ratio of cylinder height to gap distance. A servo motor to rotate the inner cylinder, a servo-motor control device, a servo amplifier for rotation speed control, and a YAG laser light source are installed in the apparatus. For the visualization of Taylor vortex flow, aluminum powder composed of scale like fine particles is used. As tracer particles used in the PIV method, fluorescent particles with a size of 48 Ixm were used. The governing equations are Navier-Stokes equations with cylindrical coordinates （r, θ, z） and the equations of continuity. Each physical value is nondimensionalized using the angular velocity of the inner cylinder as the representative velocity, and the radius difference between the inner and outer cylinders as the representative length. Discretization of the governing equations is based on the MAC method. The results of EFD and CFD （computational fluid dynamics） are compared. The mode bifurcation is observed, and the flow structure is investigated.

Cytosolic Ca^2＋ is an important second messenger in virtually every type of cell. Moreover, Ca^2＋ generally regulates multiple activities within individual cells. This article reviews the cellular machinery that is responsible for Ca^2＋ signaling in cholangiocytes. In addition, two Ca^2＋-mediated events in cholangiocytes are discussed： bicarbonate secretion and apoptosis. Finally, emerging evidence is reviewed that Ca^2＋ signaling is involved in the pathogenesis of diseases affecting the biliary tree and that Ca^2＋ signaling pathways can be manipulated to therapeutic advantage in the treatment of cholestatic disorders.

Familial adenomatous polyposis is associated with a high incidence of malignancies in the upper gastrointestinal tract (particularly ampullary adenocarcinomas). However, few reports have described a correlation between familial adenomatous polyposis and gallbladder neoplasms. We present a case of a 60-year-old woman with familial adenomatous polyposis who presented with an elevated mass in the neck of the gallbladder (measuring 16 mm × 8 mm in diameter) and multiple small cholecystic polyps. She had undergone a total colectomy for ascending colon cancer associated with familial adenomatous polyposis 22 years previously. The patient underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy under a preoperative diagnosis of multifocal gallbladder polyps. Pathologic examination of the resected gallbladder revealed more than 70 adenomatous lesions, a feature consistent with adenoma of the gallbladder. This case suggests a requirement for long-term surveillance of the biliary system in addition to the gastrointestinal tract in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis.

Novel technique of abdominal wall nerve block for laparoscopic colostomy: Rectus sheath block with transperitoneal approach

A 62-year-old man who had acute rectal obstruction due to a large rectal cancer is presented. He underwent emergency laparoscopic colostomy. We used the laparoscopic puncture needle to inject analgesia with the novel transperitoneal approach. In this procedure, both ultrasound and laparoscopic images assisted with the accurate injection of analgesic to the correct layer. The combination of laparoscopic visualization and ultrasound imaging ensured infiltration of analgesic into the correct layer without causing damage to the bowel. Twentyfour hours postoperatively, the patient's pain intensity as assessed by the numeric rating scale was 0-1 during coughing, and a continuous intravenous analgesic was not needed. Colostomy is often necessary in colon obstruction. Epidural anesthesia for postoperative pain cannot be used in patients with a coagulation disorder. We report the use of a novel laparoscopic rectus sheath block for colostomy. There has been no literature described about the nerve block with transperitoneal approach. The laparoscopic rectus sheath block was performed safely and had enough analgesic efficacy for postoperative pain. This technique could be considered as an optional anesthetic regimen in acute situations.

This paper reports on an efficient fabrication process for a polymeric cantilever covered with conductive nano silver. The entire structure can be constructed additively using a printing process, without the use of an etching process or a sacrificial layer. The fabricated cantilever exhibits good linearity and forms a submillimeter-ordered air gap between itself and the substrate surface. Fine operation of a capacitive force gauge was obtained using the capacitance between the conductive cantilever and an electrode on the substrate. This process is expected to make possible the efficient manufacturing of various types of sensors that measure mechanical strain in a cantilever structure.
