*** Water Biology and Security?Water is an essential natural resource for human survival and development,by providing ecosystem services(drinking water,aquatic foods,transportation,hydropower,biodiversity support).Globally,aquatic foods provide more than 20%of the animal protein for the world's human population,with this percentage reaching 50%in some developing countries(FAO,2020).Aquaculture has been transformed from a farming practice into a modern industry with important contributions to global food security(Gui et al.,2018;Naylor et al.,2021;Golden et al.,2021).

Despite long-standing interest,the mechanisms driving aquatic macroinvertebrate drift in tropical streams remain poorly ***,the objective of this study was to evaluate which environmental metrics drive macroinvertebrate drift in neotropical sky island *** evaluated whether altitude,the abundance of food resources,and variations in water quality influenced macroinvertebrate drift density,diversity,richness,and functional feeding *** hypothesis was developed to test whether increased altitude,lower food availability(particulate organic matter),and discharge would increase the density,taxonomic richness,and diversity of drifting *** headwater stream sites were sampled in the rainy and dry seasons in the Espinhaço meridional mountain Range(EmmR)of southeast *** were collected using drift nets deployed from 5:00 *** 8:00 *** abundance of food resources was assessed through estimates of coarse(CPOm)and fine(FPOm)particulate organic matter,and primary *** availability was an important explanatory variable for Gathering-Collectors and Scrapers,Altitude was important for Shredders and Predators,and Filtering-Collectors were linked to water discharge,suggesting that functional group drift masses were linked to different ecosystem *** temperature,conductivity,dissolved oxygen,current velocity,FPOm biomass and microbasin elevation range exerted little influence on macroinvertebrate *** taxa composition,this study also found that Baetidae and Leptohyphidae(Ephemeroptera)and Chironomidae and Simuliidae(Diptera)were the most abundant groups drifting.

Tropical and sub-tropical streams harbor great biodiversity and are responsible for crucial ecosystem *** to contribute to the understanding of how anthropogenic stressors and pressures alter functional or taxonomic diversity in biotic assemblages or processes in these systems,Water Biology and Security published eight *** research originated from Cameroon(Central Africa),southeastern Brazil,eastern Amazonia,and eastern China,representing eight river basins:Huai,Sui and Yishusi from east Asia;São Francisco,Doce,Jequitinhonha,and Amazon from South America;and Congo from *** last two are the most biodiverse on the *** studied biomes included tropical rainforest and savanna,neotropical savanna and rainforest,neotropical savanna mountains,and subtropical monsoon *** response variables included fish assemblages(3 papers),entire macroinvertebrate assemblages or sub-groups(4 papers),and stream physical habitat structure(1 paper).

An alternative cationic polymerization method is developed to produce high molecular weight polyisobutylene (Hm-PIB) with molecular weights above 5×10^5g/mol. The method involves micelle formation via functionalized low molecular weight polyisobutylene (Lm-PIB) in non-polar solvent. One end of Lm-PIB is modified with an imidazolium-containing ionic group, which together with the anion (eg. Al2Cl7) works as Lewis acid. While the monomer isobutylene dissolves readily in non-polar solvent, polymerization can occur only within the micelle, which affords stable Hm-PIB particles. Hm-PIB with a molecular weight (mW) close to 1 × 10^6 g/mol was produced successfully with the described method.

Telomeres are protective structures at the ends of eukaryotic chromosomes. The loss of telomeres through cell division and oxidative stress is related to cellular aging, organismal growth and disease. In this way, telomeres link molecular and cellular mechanisms with organismal processes, and may explain variation in a number of important life-history traits. Here, we discuss how telomere biology relates to the study of physiological ecology and life history evolution. We emphasize current knowledge on how telomeres may relate to growth, survival and lifespan in natural populations. We finish by examining interest- ing new connections between telomeres and the glucocorticoid stress response. Glucocorticoids are often employed as indices of physiological condition, and there is evidence that the glucocorticoid stress response is adaptive. We suggest that one way that glucocorticoids impact organismal survival is through elevated oxidative stress and telomere loss. Future work needs to establish and explore the link between the glucocorticoid stress response and telomere shortening in natural populations. If a link is found, it provides an explanatory mechanism by which environmental perturbation impacts life history trajectories [Current Zoology 56 （6）： 714-727, 2010].

CD4^(+)T helper cells are key regulators of host health and *** the original model,specialized subsets of T helper cells are generated following activation through lineage-specifying cytokines and transcriptional programs,but recent studies have revealed increasing complexities for CD4^(+)T-cell ***,we first discuss CD4^(+)T-cell differentiation from a historical perspective by highlighting the major studies that defined the distinct subsets of T helper *** next describe the mechanisms underlying CD4^(+)T-cell differentiation,including cytokine-induced signaling and transcriptional *** then review current and emerging topics of differentiation,including the plasticity and heterogeneity of T cells,the tissue-specific effects,and the influence of cellular metabolism on cell fate ***,recent advances in cutting-edge approaches,especially systems biology tools,have contributed to new concepts and mechanisms underlying T-cell differentiation and will likely continue to advance this important research area of adaptive immunity.

A long-term vegetarian diet plays a role in the longevity and maintenance of the healthspan,but the underlying mechanisms for these observations are largely ***,it is not known whether a longterm vegetarian dietary pattern may affect the circulating miRNA expression in such a way as to modulate the *** Adventist Health Study-2(AHS-2)cohort includes a large number of older adults who primarily follow vegetarian dietary patterns and reside in Loma Linda,California,one of five“Blue Zones”in the world in which a higher proportion of the population enjoys a longer than average *** performedmiRNA-seq in 96 subjects selected from the AHS-2 cohort with different dietary *** identified several differentially expressed miRNAs between vegetarians and non-vegetarians,which are involved in immune response and cytokine signaling,cell growth and proliferation as well as age-related diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and neurodegenerative ***,our study showed that a vegetarian diet modulates aging-associated circulating miRNAs in a sex-dependent manner of differential expression for certain miRNAs,which may be related in a beneficial manner to the *** investigation is needed to validate these miRNAs as potential biomarkers for diet-modulated longevity in humans.

Responsible,recreational fisheries in China require fully considering socioeconomic and environmental impacts and minimizing negative impacts of fisheries and fishery *** recreational fisheries also include considering climate change,responsible tourism,and developing a modern *** this paper we discuss several areas of a responsible Chinese recreational fishery:self-discipline,cultural respect and equality,low carbon/energy consumption,and *** do so by discussing the responsibilities of the business and leisure fishing *** conclude that the Chinese public should raise its awareness of its responsibilities,recreational fishing businesses and communities should clarify their obligations,fishing industry associations should actively organize and promote responsible recreational fisheries,government fisheries agencies should recommend policies for responsible recreational fisheries as soon as possible,and the fisheries economic and management community should strengthen international cooperation in responsible recreational fisheries research.

胺碘酮目前主要用作广谱抗心律失常药物.临床上普遍认为它是一种有效且短期使用无严重不良反应的药物,常作为治疗房性快速型心律失常的首选或次选药物.本篇将概述目前所知的关于胺碘酮的资料,并且对其在不同人群中的有效性及安全性进行评价.令人吃惊的是,在急性发作的心房纤颤患者还少有与安慰剂的对照研究.与其他药物的比较研究表明,胺碘酮具有广泛的有效性,多数情况下是有效的.长时间使用胺碘酮后出现的毒性是一个人所共知的问题,但是最近发现危重患者短期使用后也出现了致命的肺部毒性.因此需要对危重患者使用胺碘酮的方式进行再评价.
